The archer’s attention was drawn away from Calvin as he fled towards Isabel. Isabel looked over to Calvin and groaned. Calvin couldn’t help but agree with Isabel, in a battle this size, with enemies this strong the two of them were in serious danger as proven earlier. Almost unable to hold her own weight Isabel arose and leaned onto Calvin’s side. Calvin’s eyebrows perked in confusion, Isabel wasn’t as energetic as she usually was, Calvin had no idea fighting could take so much energy out of one person. Without saying a word he let Isabel rest on his left side.
The door that was blown open was guarded by combat, and there was no way they could go upstairs and out the window again. It looked as though they’d have to find a new exit. As Isabel stood up Calvin saw something shiny lodged in the stone work on the wall behind her. It was round… and red. Calvin had never seen such a thing before.
“Wait a second!”
Calvin gently took Isabel off his shoulder making sure she wouldn’t fall over; he left her standing for a moment as he squatted down and grasped the orb. He tugged at it for about a minute before eventually, pop! The gem like object slid out and a gleam of light shone through the hole it was covering. He put the gem away in his bag hoping it would come in helpful later.
“It looked interesting, I didn’t want to leave without a reminder anyway!”
Calvin smiled childishly before bringing Isabel back onto his left side for her to rest.
“Ok Isabel let’s get out of here!”

Isabel rolled her eyes upon seeing what Calvin had pried from the rock. This was hardly the time to be collecting shiny rocks! Or gems! Or whatever that red thing was! Isabel did not make a comment about it, however, instead saving her energy for any possible encounters they might have with someone who wanted them dead. As the two trudged down the hallway, Isabel felt some of her strength returning to her. So the girl removed herself from Calvin, taking a few steps on shaky legs, and then fell to her left side, leaning against the wall. Not looking back at Calvin, she held up her hand, showing him her palm. "I'm fine..." she muttered, and then shoved herself off the wall again. She more hesitantly tried walking again, and, although it was still shaky, she did not fall. The pupil smiled, and then turned to Calvin slowly. "All right... It's unlikely we'll find a door. If you see any cracks in the wall going to the outside, I want you to throw your height against it. Understand?"
Not waiting for his answer, Isabel turned again and continued walking ahead of Calvin. Oh god she was hungry... As soon as they escaped, she was going to get something to eat.

Jya was guiding Valorian, he was so weak that he could barely tell. The battle seemed to be winding down...or was it just that he couldn't hear it anymore. This feeling...this weightlessness, the numbness...the exhaustion that was spreading through his body.
He'd felt this before...many years ago. Why did he remember that now? That man...by the lake, and fire, endless fire...
Somewhere at the back of his mind, he heard his own voice speaking.
This is it
"J-ya." He muttered. "T-thanks." His body began to go limp, as he passed out. If he fell would depend if Jya kept her grip on him or not.
It's all right...I'm not afraid, I've been here before.

Valorian was slipping out of Jya's hand, pretty much dead weight to her now. She nudged at him to get a response...
"Hey Val, we're gonna get out of here, just a little bit farther," she said, nudging him even more... Once again...nothing. Out of panic she tried to figure out what was going on. She found a wound on his arm... Something about it appeared wrong. When she took a deeper look, she wiped off what she could and examined it... It wasn't a normal wound... What was it? Valorian appeared sick...and then there was a wound until finally it clicked! Poison!
Now she had an idea of what to do. She had to find a cure, perhaps an enemy soldier would have one. With that thought she thrust Valorian at Tara.
"I have to go find some medicine, please watch over him," Jya managed to state before rushing back into the fray. She sheathed her killing edge and took out her light slim sword for her task. Now wasn't the time to slaughter through enemies, she had to go back to her roots, thievery. The question was where? Where would she be able to find a cure? She rushed through the crowd, avoiding any full throttle battle. The thing about being a thief for her was the ability to blend into the crowd. However when two opposing sides were around she would stand out no matter who she acted like.
Before long she was back into the ruined fort, rushing through, looking for anything that looked like cure. An arrow went past her head, luckily not even glancing her. Her reaction told her to rush forward but she held her place. She needed a cure.
"Hey! I'm on your side! An arrow misfire and shot one of our man!" she yelled out, hoping that the arrow will stop firing. She wasn't sure if an arrow was the cause but she simply guessed that they had different poisoned weapons. After a few moments of intense pause, a man did walk forward.
"Eh? Which squad are you from anyways?" he asked... Jya had no idea about the organization, she knew very little about the army in the first place... They used numbers right?
"5th Squad!" she said out loud. Hopefully she was right.

Isabel rolled her eyes but Calvin didn’t see it. It’s true that now wasn’t the time to be collecting gems and souvenirs, but Calvin thought it could help them later on. Isabel insisted she no longer needed the help, she walked forward explaining they needed to find a crack of some sorts. Calvin was prepared to throw himself against the wall, anything to make himself useful. He was about to walk on with Isabel but then he had an idea. He didn’t notice it at first because he was distracted by the red gem, but the opening it was clogging might work.
“Wait Isabel!”
Calvin called after her before looking back to the wall with the small hole where the gem was. Light shined through it and showed a small crack sprawling up the wall. Calvin smiled proudly before turning back to Isabel.
“How’s this!”
He put his bag on the floor and took a few steps back. He ran at the wall and jumped against it with his shoulder. He smacked against the wall and some tiny rocks slid out. The wall wasn’t very damaged, but Calvin did feel an intense pain in his shoulder. The wall would take another few hits before breaking but Calvin wasn’t strong enough by himself. He rubbed his arm and began kicking at the wall with the bottom of his foot. Bit by bit the wall chipped away. After about 5 minutes of kicking, Calvin thought he was ready to try it again. Taking steps back again he ran at the wall, and leapt against is smacking his arm against the wall. Calvin fell through the wall as the hole extended up the crack and opened the wall. He laid on the floor for a minute rubbing his arm before using his legs to push himself up. His arm was really sore, and now that they were out the adrenaline was starting to wear off. The pain from his fall earlier was starting to sit in aswell. However he knew he had to hold it together till they got to safety.
“Is that… ok?”

Isabel watched as Calvin literally threw himself at the cracked wall, and grimaced as she realized that that had probably hurt more than she thought it would. After a painstaking five minutes of worrying they would get caught, Calvin finally threw himself at the wall again, and fell through it. Isabel shook her head, grabbed his bag from the ground, and followed him in a less 'falling' manner. She offered him her hand, and that was when they heard heavy boots behind them. "Hey, you two! Stop right the---" The man was cut off as Isabel turned around, calling upon the power within her Flux tome.
The tendrils seeped into the ground, reappearing around the ankles of the armored swordsman, and then dragged the man into the ground a few inches. The sword fell out of his hand, and then he fell unconscious as Isabel threw all her weight behind a blow to the man's head with her book. An unconventional use for her tome, but a rather effective one.
Isabel frowned as a few pages fell from her book, but they were dull and the ink was fading from the worn pages. Their power was gone... And the threat to Calvin and herself was gone. At least until he woke up... Although, the blood streaming from his nose... Nah, he'd be fine. Isabel turned back to Calvin, and once more offered him her hand. "Let's get out of here."

Tara sheathed her blade and took Valorian. The child weighed lighter than he looked, so he was hardly a burden to the novice swordwoman. She walked over the an area of the fort they had cleared out and laid the child down on her cloak. She stroked the boy's hair, though a mother would to her child. She thought about using a vulnerary, but Valorian had already passed out. "Magic," she cursed aloud. The boy had drained all of his energy channeling that fireball through the door, she knew it.
It was then that Tara heard a thud. She got up and looked around a corner to see Calvin throwing himself at a wall. She laughed under her breath and shook her head. She had read about bard's places on the battlefield, and trying to break down walls was not one of them. "Calvin! over here! Valorian is sick... Perhaps you could play him a song to try to awaken him?"

Calvin stood up from the floor and attempted to dust himself off but he was just a little bit too sore to do it. His head turned as he heard the clink of heavy boots from behind him. “Hey, you two! Stop right the –” Calvin panicked for a second, they were seen! Although trying to smash down a wall would probably attract a little bit of attention. Thankfully Calvin was with Isabel, fast to react she opened her book and tendrils seeped into the ground before pulling him into the floor few inches. Calvin was surprised yet again by the powers of magic. He still had much to learn about battle, and much to experience. His trail of thought vanished when Isabel turned back and told him it was time to leave. He shook his head signaling to her he would be fine for now. The two turned around to leave when they were spotted by Tara. She called out to Calvin and immediately Calvin turned his head. His eyes widened as he saw Valorian passed out on the floor, Tara tending to him. He quickly turned back to Isabel
“Isabel! Valorian is in trouble, we have to help!”
A determined look on his face he endured his pains and made his way to Tara and Valorian as quickly as he could before dropping himself to the floor. He knew playing music wouldn’t heal him, but it could help him to relax, maybe it might help the pain lessen. He knew it was a long shot but he wanted to do anything he could to help his friends.
“I hope he’ll be ok! I’ll do whatever I can to help”
Calvin placed his bag on the floor and opened it, making everything visible to those around him. His lute was sticking out from the bag, and his gem shined against the light. Inside the bag was also his flute and some carrots, apples and dried pork from his earlier shopping trip with Tara. He pulled his flute out of his bag, his earlier experiences in Amarillo taught him that he was better with his flute. He played a soft, gentle tune on his flute. It was simple, yet calming. He played it quietly so it wouldn’t attract any attention, however the volume of the tune also complimented the melody.

Isabel shook her head (oh god that seemed to be all she was doing as of late...) as Tara came out and told them that Valorian was having a problem, and Calvin actually followed her back in. Had they not just gotten out? It seemed to Isabel that she was the only one with any sense at all. And then there was the thing about Valorian saving her, and then she saved him... And he hadn't thanked her! In fact, he had told her off for helping him. Why should she care if he rotted in some crusty old fort? Plus, he was a priest. That didn't win him any points in her book. But... God d*mnit, that priest was going to thank her! And it's generally hard to thank people from the grave. Calvin began following Tara into the fort, calling for Isabel to follow him. Kicking at the man who she had knocked unconscious and grumbling a little, the sapphire-haired girl followed.
When they arrived, they found Valorian laid out on Tara's cloak, unconscious. He seemed a little worse for wear, but... Alive. Isabel smiled a little at that, and then closed her eyes as she listened to Calvin begin playing his flute. It was truly beautiful music... It was also the first time she had heard the bard play. Hmm... I'll have to make sure he plays for me again sometime, she thought. The girl reached over for Calvin's shoulder, patting the bard lightly three times. "He's going to be fine... He has to be fine..." the pupil muttered, almost inaudibly, although it came our louder than she meant.

Jya stayed out of sight as much as possible. She did remain in a completely relaxed and casual pose throughout the conversation.
"5th Squad!?" the archer exclaimed clearly startled by what she said. The 5th Squad seems to have struck a nerve...
"Oh sh**... Alright, I have to get back out on the fray but here, hurry, once the poison starts up you'll better be sure the guy drink all of it," he instructed before taking out a pouch and throwing it over at her. She scrambled to catch it but it easily fell into her hands.
"Thanks," she said before running out the way she came. The archer went back up and took his station readying his arrows again.
"Who was it?" a companion yelled at him while aiming for one of their enemies.
"5th Squad member, one of the soldiers got caught in friendly fire," he answered back but not long after getting a slap on the back of his head.
"The 5th squad is out in a different mission idiot!" his companion barked. However by this time Jya was long gone. She was avoiding the vast majority of the battle and was soon by the others side and shoving the pouch at Tara.
"I got it," she said heaving up and down out of exhaustion. She had put in so much effort to get the cure. It better work!

OOC: Gonna assume Tana would give it to Val and not cackle like a mad women while smashing it on the ground.
IC: Valorian was jostled back to reality. He felt sick, badly sick, like something inside of him was on fire. He leaned up almost instantly, clutching his chest with his right arm. His breath was ragged and horse, his face contorted in pain, but slowly but surely, the pain eased, and his breathing steadied. The song that had been filling the air stopped suddenly from his outburst. His eyes were hazy as he looked about the group of them, still trying to refocus himself. They were all here...all of them had survived...and they'd helped him.
"Y-you all.." he muttered, trying to stop the world from spinning.
With the silence of Calvin's song, he noticed it was very quiet. The fighting seemed to stop, had one of the sides emerged victorious?

Jya was so glad that Valorian was back to his senses that she couldn't help but hug him. She wasn't sure how hard she was doing it but she let go after a minute or two. When she did go, she wiped off a few tears from both relief and the day's stress.
"Great, now we can go back to what we came here to do!" she said before patting herself off from all the dirt that had collected in time. It did occur to her that the sound of all the fighting had finally resolved and it was relatively quiet.
"I guess I'll go look in whats left of the buildings..." she said with her usual smile before disappearing back into the buildings and shadows.

Isabel smiled as the medicine was given to Valorian began to wake up again. Jya ran forward, hugging the priest, which Isabel found rather humorous. Perhaps Jya and Valorian liked each other more than they were willing to admit... She'd have to ask them about it later. When she let go of the priest, Jya brought them all back to what they were supposed to be doing: looking for... Something. Isabel frowned, unhappy that she still had no idea what it was. As Jya ran off elsewhere, the pupil walked took a step towards Valorian. "Hey, priest. Me and you are going to have a little talk after we're done here. In private." The venom in her voice wasn't masked in any way, shape, or form. The sapphire-haired girl turned towards Calvin, a smile creeping back onto her face.
"Hey, bard-boy! Let's make ourselves useful and search the area for anything that looks important." She then grabbed him by the arm and began dragging Calvin off deeper into the fort.

Valorian felt a force hit him hard in the chest, and almost knock him back to the floor. He held his ground though, and gathered his senses as the girl crashed into his chest, hugging him with a few tears. He let his arm drift around her, holding her likewise for a moment before she pried herself off of him and announced that she was going to find what it is they were looking for. Similarly, Isabel made a declaration and took off. Now...this was his turn. He struggled to his feat, grabbing his staff from the ground. He wasn't dying, but he still felt quite weak. With not an ounce of fear, he walked calmly out into the main foyer.
[blue]"Seems like we routed most of them...oh wait." He said, spotting Valorian. He readied his lance, and then stopped in confusion.[/blue]
Valorian had just made a very odd hand sign, with his staff resting in the crook of his arm. The General eyed him oddly.
[blue]"How do you know that?" He asked, lowering the lance ever so slightly.[/blue]
"Because, a long time ago, my brother was a military general. I am a citizen of Bern as much as you are, this is a disguise." He explained. The General did not look entirely convinced.
"Look. The Etruians were not here to betray you. They really did intend to give you something that would change the course of the war. And I think you know what it was, don't you? You wouldn't send your men looking for it unless you knew what they were looking for."
[blue]The General eyed him suspiciously. "Well, maybe you are from Bern, this should prove it." He said, taking out an odd gold amulet. It was circular, with a gap in the center. Not big enough for a bracelet, but too big to be a ring.[/blue]
As he held it out, Valorian's eyes went wide. That would certainly be something of changing the course of the war. And they were looking for something that small? "So...that was how they convinced you to come here. They kept one half of it, and sent you the other. But the priest was the only one who knew where it was, so when he was killed..."
[blue]The General placed his lance on his back. "It's as you say, only someone from Bern could recognize that with just a glimpse, and with it incomplete no less."[/blue]
Valorian looked at it, the part that was missing. It would be...
"So...your men are looking for the gem?"

Tara had given Valorian the vial as asked. She smiled wide and clapped her hands together in relief when he awoke. The cure did the trick! She stood back as the other celebrated. She smiled silently, thankful for the boy's recovery. She didn;t know who to go with when the gang split up, so she decided to wander the area of the fort she was in.
She had gone through a few side doors, only to find empty rooms. She looked around the rooms, finding nothing but dust and animal droppings. Such an odd place to hide a treasure, Tara thought, pushing over another empty crate. She headed through the next door, which lead out to a hallway. She must have gone in a circle, or at least half of one. She was looking into a hall just outside the room the group had branched out of, facing the opposite way. She was looking at the back of a general, who was... holding something out to Valorian? Tara backed into a shadow, barely poking her head out of the door, and watched.
