Ralph galloped onward with Xavier half-asleep on top of him. It had already been several days and Xavier had once again gotten himself starved from travelling the lands. He had not restocked on supplies before leaving the apothecary's house and, as he was relying on the mage's supplies to get himself onward before, found himself hungry with no food to eat. Worst still, Xavier had no idea where the nearest town was, and without a definitive direction to head in, all Xavier could do was to not do anything and use as little energy as possible to ensure that he could last as long as possible on his body's reserves.
Ralph galloped on, and each time his foot hit the soft grass, Xavier's body shivered. The harshness of the journey was only now starting to take its toll on Xavier's tired and hungry body. Even as Xavier lay down on Ralph, he knew that soon, his body wouldn't be able to take the fatigue that he had worked up from getting so hungry. With not much more energy left in his body, Xavier stopped looking up to see where they were, and spent even more of each day sleeping, occasionally being jolted awake by a hard step. At least Ralph could graze on the grass and would not get hungry, as he was the only way Xavier would be able to get to a town...
==TIMESKIP==
Xavier opened his eyes. He was lying down on a bed. That was weird... He was on the road wasn't he? There was no reason for him to wake up on a bed. And Ralph? Where was he? Xavier fidgeted on the bed. He wasn't feeling that constant hunger now, that was for sure.
Just as Xavier was about to stand up, a woman walked in. She was wearing long flowing white robes, with her hair tied back into a bun. She was also holding onto a staff. Her face was aged, but kind, and Xavier could feel many years of experience behind her eyes. Xavier guessed immediately that this woman must be a healer. Xavier had probably fainted and been rescued by someone.
"Excuse me... Pardon me, but where am I..?" Xavier asked in a strangely polite way. Maybe it was the room or the fact that the woman who had just walked in looked like one of those healers back at Xavier's home, but Xavier felt like he was back at home in Bern once more.
The woman smiled at Xavier's question, but did not answer until she had finished laying down a mug of hot chocolate on a small table beside the bed that Xavier was lying on. "You are in a small church. The woodcutter of our village found you unconscious on a horse when he was collecting wood and brought you to us for help."
That woman's sentence had answered most of Xavier's questions. So... he had fainted of hunger on the roads... That was... astonishly embarrassing. "Thank you so much for helping me... Umm... Is there anything I can do to help out? I need to repay you guys somehow..." Xavier asked. He had to repay the church for nursing him back to full health.
"Don't worry about it. We're just pleased to help. Just stay healthy and rest well for the next few days until you are recovered and you would have repaid us back already!" the woman said, smiling and standing up with the now-empty tray. "Drink that. It should help you feel better. Then, take a nice long rest. You may wish to have a short walk in the garden outside if you feel too cooped up."
"Thank you so much, ma'am", was all Xavier could manage before the woman left the room, probably to look after another patient that they had.

Lucia was busy tending an old woman whose ankle was sprained after falling from stairs. Two other clerics helped the old woman to sit on the bed while Lucia waving her staff toward the ankle. "May St. Elimine hear our prayers," the blonde Etrurian whispered as she transmitted some of her magical energy into the small green orb on her staff. Her magic sent a wave of life force and healed the sprained ankle, relieving the pain. The old woman's expression showed that she had felt better. After she was done, Lucia left her patient in care of the other clerics.
The blue-eyed cleric wasn't originally from this town, she had been travelling since the news of her father's death came from the battlefield. Helping from town to town, she had found her lost smile. Seeing people smile was very pleasant, she really liked it. In this time, when many people got injured because of bandits roaming freely and the war that was caused by her the country, a healer like her was a big help for the victims. Her staff could save many life, not like sword which killed. Lucia just arrived this town two days ago, she stayed in the local church, helping the priest tending some patients. For some reason, the number of male patient had increased since her arrival.
"Alright. Now I need to deliver this blanket." Lucia walked toward Xavier's room carrying a white blanket, humming on her way there. This patient was found fainted on his horse by the woodcutter. He was still alive but looked thin. Then she saw someone leave this new patient's room. "That must be the senior cleric." She carefully approached the door and peeked inside, not wanting to wake the patient. But he had his eyes open, he was awake, finally! Smiling, she knocked the door and looked at Xavier. "Hello. Are you feeling better now?"

"Hello. Are you feeling better now?" came a voice from the door of the room.
Xavier turned around to face a young woman with bright blonde hair that strangely reached down to her knees. She had an innocent looking face with bright blue eyes that seemed to pierce through Xavier's body. She was holding on to a blanket, that Xavier assumed was for him, when she walked into the room.
"Yeah, I'm feeling better now." Xavier answered. "I've been meaning to go out for some fresh air and a stretch."
There was also something else that Xavier had to do, and that was to find Ralph. All of his baggage and stuff were not with him, so he presumed that they must have been left on Ralph when he had been brought into the church. He had also wanted to thank the woodcutter who had brought him to the church.

"Good." Lucia smiled kindly after Xavier stated that he had been feeling better. Holding the blanket on her hands, she walked toward the bed, staring at Xavier. "It seems he has been recovered. Nice. He still needs some rest, though," she thought. The cleric then put the blanket in the wooden chair next to the bed because Xavier showed no intention to rest.
"You fainted because you didn't eat for days. The priest who examined you told me about it." Lucia wondered why he went travelling with empty stomatch and without bringing food supplies. She had even worried that he might be a victim of robbery, which was happened pretty often lately.
"Okay. But please don't strain yourself." So Xavier said he wanted to go out, she wouldn't object that. He looked healthy enough for a small walk anyway, she didn't have any reason to stop him. "You might want to drink the chocolate before you go. It will give you energy." Lucia bent over and lifted the mug, slipping her fingers into the handle to avoid touching the hot sides of the mug. She then sat on the edge of the bed, the cleric tried not to sit on her own hair as she offered the mug to Xavier. A bit pushy maybe, but her intention was good.

"Alright..." was all Xavier could manage before the girl passed him the mug of hot chocolate that was on the table beside his bed. This girl was slightly pushy and forceful, but at least it was because she was concerned about Xavier, as all healers should be of their patients.
Xavier spent a few minutes gulping down the hot chocolate that the girl had passed him. The hot chocolate did indeed help Xavier, as Xavier felt slightly more energetic after drinking it. It was probably because he was so hungry that even the hot drink could make him feel more energetic.
"Don't worry, I won't strain myself." Xavier said, a late response to the girl telling him not to strain himself. "I just need to get a breath of fresh air and see if my horse is still around. All my stuff are still tethered on him."
Xavier laid the cup down, then stood up and started walking towards the door. When he reached the door though, he realised that he did not know the layout of the church well. The church seemed to be a maze of pathways and rooms. "Well... umm... I think I need some help getting around... The church seems kinda big..."

"Good," Lucia said as she watched Xavier drinking the chocolate. It seemed he would regain his health soon, the way he gulped down his drink made her think so. At least he looked a little energetic now. Lucia also stood up and took the mug, she placed it in the small table near the bed. The bed was in a mess after being used all, she waited until he left the bed before tidying the sheets. "Be careful, Mr..." Lucia glanced at his back him while he walked toward the door. She then continued with her work, putting the blanket she brought earlier on the bed.
"I could guide you walking around the church," she said. Lucia herself wasn't from this area too but she had remembered some parts of the church area. They wouldn't get lost, hopefully. Lucia grabbed the empty mug and walked toward the door. "We need to go left and stop in kitchen to put this mug in the sink first. Near the kitchen we'll find a door that leads to the garden. Also, you might want to grab some snacks in the kitchen."
Lucia walked past him, carrying the empty mug in her hand. They then walked in the corridor, in the both sides they could see some rooms that looked similar to Xavier's, some was empty and the other had patients inside. Sometimes, they met acolytes and clerics on their way toward the kitchen. "We are kinda busy recently. A few days ago, some Lycia soldiers attacked a small village in East. The refugees came here carrying the wounded," she said, looking sad. Etruria might be an antagonist since the rise of The Prophet, but the citizens had nothing to do with the war, they were only a victim of this foolish attempt to spread St. Elimine teaching. Lucia never heard St Elimine wanted a war.
"Ah...I haven't introduced myself. I am Lucia Valentine. You can call me Lucy," she said.

OoC: Sorry Mana/Lucia, I was studying for my test this morning. With the last major test/exam I have done, I should have more time to post.
BiC: Xavier followed behind the young girl as she led him around the church. She was a good guide, telling Xavier where everything was and where to go. When the girl had stopped and introduced herself, Xavier followed suit, "I am Xavier... I am from... umm... Bern, I guess."
"Do you think I might be able to help out with tending to the wounded? I can use a staff and well... I don't really have any money and probably would be in town for a long while before I can get some supplies." Xavier asked. Being in the church here was not so bad. The work he would be doing here would be quite similar to what he had done before. Xavier just hoped that working here would not make him remember his own home and church too much.

OoC : It's okay^^ Good luck with your exams^^
"Bern? Wow...You came from a far place." Lucia looked at Xavier with curious eyes. She had met several Bern travellers who came to the church asking for food and room but it was the first time she met a fellow healer from another country.
"A patient want to be the doctor?" Lucia giggled, this man looked pale and weak when the woodcutter found him but now he already wanted to help. She wouldn't refuse the offer but that wasn't something she should decide by herself. The head priest surely would accept his offer, but it would be polite to ask him first although the answer had been obvious. "Not now. We need to focus on your health for now. You could help us after you are fully recovered."
"Ah..." Lucia and Xavier almost passed the kitchen. "Wait here..." The cleric ran into the kitchen and placed the mug in the sink. Some plates of sandwich were placed on a long wooden table, she grabbed one before heading for the exit. "Here...It's delicious." Lucia knew that Xavier had to regain the energy he had lost while unconscious, eating food would help him.
"Look. That door leads to the garden." Lucia pointed to a door that was only a few meters away from where they was standing. Fresh air coming from outside through the door and a small window beside it.

"Thanks so much.", Xavier responded to the cleric's help. Xavier took a few small steps into the garden before he turned around to continue his response to the girl. "Actually, I think I'll be fine helping people now. I've been in worse situations than this. Wandering the lands alone isn't very fun after all."
Saying that aloud made Xavier think about what had compelled him into making that decision to leave home. It was a little of recklessness, anger and rebelliousness that caused Xavier to steal and ride on Ralph out of his home village. After some mindless wandering, Xavier had gotten himself hopelessly lost and hungry. Xavier was rescued by some bandits, who had maintained that Xavier owed them his life and therefore had to help them. At least such a thing was not happening now, when he was actually rescued by kind people who did not want to take advantage of him.
"At least I'm rescued by the right sort of people now. I wouldn't want to be indebted to the wrong sort of company, especially in a foreign country.", Xane said aloud, as he reminisced about the large step that he had taken back in Bern.
OoC: Thanks for understanding.
Also, the reason why I named the thread "Reminiscence" was because I wanted Xavier to do a little reminiscing about his childhood and his decision to leave home in this thread. Then, he would go on to remembering the journey he had undertaken with Aaron. This sets off Xavier wanting to actually be someone who can make a change in the world and opens up the way for him to be influenced by the being that is possessing him right now.

Lucia continued to follow Xavier out to the garden, the gentle breeze touched her face as she made the first step into the garden. This was what she liked from this church, they kept everything clean and tidy, and the trees got watered periodically too. She didn't notice that a pigeon landed on her head, making a comfortable sitting spot with her blonde hair.
"Well, that doesn't sound wise." Lucia frowned when Xavier kept offering to help despite her suggestion to make himself healthy before starting any the healing jobs. "He might look fine now...But, who knows what will happen?" she thought as she stared at the Bern healer. Sometimes, we were feeling fine when we actually weren't, Lucia worried that Xavier's condition would get worse if he didn't rest. She didn't look agree at all, her worried expression told everything.
Lucia was reminded that Xavier was from another country in the East, Bern. That piqued her interest, even if travellers were common in these days, someone who went travelling alone was usually rare. "So...Why did you leave your country then?" she asked politely, she hoped she wasn't prying too much.

Xavier played with the question in his mind. Why had he left Bern? Was it his decision to run away or his decision to trail the mage that had caused him to end up so far away from Bern? It was probably a mixture of both, given that if he had not decided to leave home, he would not have had the chance to meet the mage and therefore, accompanied him all the way over here to Etruria.
Noticing that he had just been spacing off for that few minutes, Xavier hurriedly replied the girl, "Well, it's a mixture of a desire to leave home and a desire to follow someone and somehow, I've landed all the way on the other side of the world."
Xavier took another step towards Ralph, who was tethered towards one of the trees in the middle of the garden. The garden also reminded him of home. The garden that he used to play in when he was young. He had been playful, hiding in the gardens when he was needed for important things or events. It was weird, why was it only now that all these memories were coming back to him?

"Are you alright?"she asked. Not getting an answer from the Troubadour, Lucia noticed that Xavier was spacing off. It seemed he couldn't hear her call as well because he continued like that for a few more minutes. The cleric waited patiently for his response, it wasn't the first time anyway, some of her patients was like him too. Sometimes she even had to wait longer to get their responses.
"Oh..." Lucia wasn't going to ask his reason for leaving home, that was his privacy and probably something he would rather avoid. Some travellers left home for challenges and adventures, but there was people who did it because of unpleasant circumstances. She wouldn't risk hurting his feeling.
Lucia watched his back as Xavier approached his horse, she then smiled and followed him quietly. "From Bern to Etruria, you have really gone a long way from home," she said as she gently brushed Ralph's neck. "I never visited your country, Bern. Well...I went to Lycia with my father sometimes but I never travelled too far from Etruria." It was her dream to see the snowy field of Ilia, she only heard about it from stories. The cleric wanted to see and feel the white and soft thing with her hands. People said the endless white of Ilia mountains was really beautiful.

"Well, I don't really remember much of getting here to Etruria. I just tagged along with a group and here I am now.", Xavier responded. Somehow, Xavier was opening up to this girl. A lot more than he would have liked to open up to anyone that he had just met. It could be the purity and honesty that Xavier had seen in the girl.
Turning back to Ralph, Xavier carefully positioned himself on the horse's back and grabbed his bag that was still in its position on the side of the saddle. It seemed untouched, but Xavier opened it and rifled through its contents to ensure that everything was still in there. Then, after replacing his bag to its position, Xavier looked at his staff that was still buckled tightly to the saddle. The buckle was something that Xavier had engineered, a way of keeping his staves when travelling, since most staves would not easily fit into the small bag that he owned.
OoC: Creepily, I just realised that Lucia can attack with a staff... Scary...

"So that is your staff. It looks same with mine." The staves looked pretty similar in design although Lucia's staff was an Etruria made that had some slight differences. She seemed to love her staff much, the cleric never parted with her staff which was a birthday gift from her father.
As she brushed her hair to the side, Lucia saw a boy waving his hands to her. She waved back and smiled. That boy fell off from a horse yesterday, it was Lucia who helped him get through his crisis. She wasn't alone though, the other healers had helped her with their healing magic and medical skill. "Hmm...Wait...I shouldn't be relaxing here." That made her remember that she still had some unfinished work.
"Alright, Xavier. Take care of yourself. I am going to check another patient," she said as she began to turn around.

"So that is your staff. It looks same with mine.", the girl had said when Xavier had checked on his staff to ensure it was still there.
"Well, the way these staves were made would be the same, even in different parts of the world...", Xavier responded.
When the girl had excused herself to look after another patient, Xavier said aloud, "May I come along too? I might be able to help...", expressing his intention to help out with healing the patients.
