Title is as such to keep the thread open ended, but with the 3DS and the Wii U coming out next year, I find its relevant to talk about Nintendo. And right now, I just got a 3DS, and I love talking consoles, like LOVE talking consoles (seriously, I could talk consoles for hours), so let's talk 3DS. Starting with this: 3dstribe.com/news/3ds-sales-nintendo-gamecube-japan/It's good news for me, seeing as more sales means more money put into developing new games for my new console. But, I mean, while I knew the 3DS was going to take off, and I knew the Gamecube sold poorly, but really? Damn, and I thought the Gamecube was a good console. Like a really good console. Then again, I had the same reaction when I realized the Nintendo 64 sold the less than the PS1. Just goes to show how much perspective can affect something like that.

Bro I love gamecube
two words for you: SMASH BROS
two more words Tales (of) Symphonia
that was actually three words, whatever, but the GC version of ToS was way better than the PS2 version.
Also: Phantasy Star Online Ep. I & II. Greatest game of all time. OF ALL TIME. Spent so goddamn much time on that game it's silly.

I know right? That console had to be one of my favorite systems of all time, and with the quality to match.
Tales of Symphonia Super Smash Brothers Melee Phantasy Star Online Ep. I & II Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door Metroid Prime Metroid Prime II Resident Evil 4 Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Super Mario Sunshine Pikmin Pikmin 2 F-Zero GX Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean Baten Kaitos Origins Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance Sonic Adventure 2: Battle Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes Mario Kart: Double Dash Skies of Arcadia: Legends NFL Blitz 2000 Lost Kingdoms Luigi's Mansion
My library for this thing is a massive, bloated beast of quality gaming. I own a few stinkers that didn't make this list, sure, and a few I don't own, and yes some of those games were obtained console post-mortem but I have played all of them and I don't know how this thing lost to the Xbox.
EDIT: IT KEEPS GETTING BIGGER

I'm not going to lie, I liked Wind Waker better than Twilight Princess. A lot more. I was leery of the art style when it came out, like everyone else, but was immediately sold when I actually played it. Tetra was cool, too! Double Dash was absolutely amazing too - also easily better than its sequel. The two-man karts were SUCH a cool idea and made races lots of fun.

I think the number of people who like Twilight Princess more than Wind Waker are few and far in between.
And I'm not one of them.

SOOOOO MUCH FRIGGIN BRO LOVE IN THIS TOPIC! Later in the cube/ps2 era my cube got so much love. ToS introduced me to the wonderful Tales series. Only reason I got the psp was Tales of the world.
I had a 3DS since launch, recently sold it to buy the Zelda 3DS. I can't wait for the Wii U personally.

In terms of gaming, the Tales series is one of the greatest gifts Japan has given to RPGs. It's also a curse upon the rest of the world, because they have repeatedly failed to port over half of the titles to international systems. It boggles the mind, considering how they always do well in the US.
I'm also completely stoked for the Wii U, if only for Super Smash Bros (OMG CHARACTER DISCUSSIONS FOR WEEKS STRAIGHT! CONFIRMED FOR BRAWL!) Seriously, though, they're stepping up their game. It seems graphically impressive, it introduces a unique new interface while keeping the old one, and Nintendo has even shown that its actually concerned about delivering strong 3rd party experiences, something it has lacked since the Nintendo 64. If the start focusing on their software again as much as they focus on their control interface, we could have a juggernaut on our hands.

I've played the Wii plenty via friends, but... honestly, not a fan, and I never bothered buying it. SSB is the one series I've spent more time on than PSO, but Brawl was just floaty crap that I couldn't get into after so much time with the far tighter controls of Melee. I'm actually considering a Wii U, though, given that they seem to be actually going after third parties and trying to NOT derp it up. Admittedly, mostly so I can play the next SSB.
I wish Tales of Vesperia would FINALLY goddamn come out on PS3 so I can play it, but alas. Tales is hella bro in general, back from the old Phantasia to the more modern ones. I've played through ToS 6-7 times.

Hell we gotta tip our hats to Capcom, they were the first ones to show how much of a powerhouse the cube was with RE4. I have a grudge against Bandai still(from the naruto card game) so I wasn't happy about them buying namco.
I saw leaked info bout the next Smash brothers, the title was Super Smash Brothers Universe.
Oh yea tirion kinda sounds like Troy Baker(voice of yuri on ToV). One of my favorite part of gaming is looking up the voice actors. Cam Clarke is such an amazing voice actoer(Kratos from ToS).
Back on topic though, I own a 360 but I hate it so much, ine is messed up. Sent it to microsoft under warrenty, they claimed they fixed it then a month after the warrenty(90 day added on their work) it started to act up again. Glad my near launch wii is still under warrenty(thank god for a year warrenty when you send it to Nintendo.)

Nayru Al-Saiduq: I loved Super Smash 64. I loved Melee. I loved Brawl. They all had their segment of my life that they ruled. I'll leave it at that. But yeah, the Wii U could suck and I'd still have to buy it for SSB. Hal: I don't know how many times I've had to tell people that the Gamecube was more powerful than the PS2. It's insane. I'm digging the title. I looked it up, apparently we get more non-Nintendo characters. Golden Sun characters? Pleasepleaseplease. Fortunately my 360 still works. Never had any problems with it, though I bought my after the red-ring saga. Only bought the thing because the Wii disappointed me so much. Turned me into a two system gamer, though, so now I can just sit around and talk about how "PS3 haz no gaemz" I don't have a PS3, and they have no excuse for not porting the Wii version. The install base is three times as large and it's full of gamers still having Symphonia withdrawals. What the hell. No excuse. Also, I remember hearing that announcement two months after buying my cousin's PS2 and all of his games to play it. Up until then I had just been playing games at my neighbor's, but this? I needed to own it. Piss balls. Though I did get an extensive library of awesome. Whole pacakge for $90. Woohoo! Love Kyle Hebert's voice.

Yeah I can definitely see how people can like Brawl, and I loved the character selection, just too used to playing Melee so I couldn't really make the transition. I don't play on a tournament level, at least not anymore, but had enough technical skill and familiarity with the system that Brawl just felt nearly unplayable. Not trying to badmouth it as a game, sorry.

I hope they remove tripping. SMH for tripping in brawl. But most "gamers" don't look into system specs and go by what's out on the system.
Also if kyle does show up I'll nab his autograph for you, this time it wouldn't take 2 years to send to you

*cough, cough*
I've gotten my news from a little birdie*, and that little birdie said that they are making this next Smash game for the 3DS.
*Nintendo Power
Edit: On the topic of great games on great consoles, Etrian Odysessy 1, 2, and 3 (DS titles) are beautiful games, and the fourth is coming to the 3DS.
