Before Tuatara knew it he was thrown in a cell, stuffed in with two other people. He stumbled a bit when the guard shoved him in, but once his balance was regained he began rubbing his arm. And he didn't take my stuff, he thought. I've been captured many times, and they always take your stuff!
Tuatara looked around the room, taking in the situation. He then brought his attention to the people. She looks as old or younger than me, he thought, looking at Mel. And the other guy is older I guess. I'm not exactly a prime example of one my age.
"Sooo......," Tuatara began, not really looking at either one of them. "How's it going? I'm Tuatara, Dragon Friend and easily captured, apparently." He tapped on the wall. "Well, we aren't getting through that."

Mel cocked a brow staring quietly down at the absolute idiot laughing himself into his grave. He knew that it was a lie, it was quite obviously as only a fool would believe it so earnestly. So he proved that he was not a fool and little else, being a fool did not mean was not just plainly simple in the mind. With the way he was acting it was hard to doubt his stupidity.
"I was arrested for taking some weight off of someone elses's hands, he did not seem to appreciate it as he should have" she sighed taking a seat and blatantly ignoring the other recent entry into the cell. "I was wondering, if I shoved you head first into the door which would break first."
What was with people and cute? It was getting frustrating, some people were just fat too troublesome to deal with. They were best suited for popping up in places with a knife in his chest, just a year or two ago no one would have ever said such a thing to her face unless she was acting. Maybe it was the expression, lightly she pinched her cheeks and twisted them. They felt the same as ever, who knew what it could be in the end and for now she would just observe until it came to light.
"Well, do any of you have a lockpick or do I need to smash a one if your fingers into the keyholes and see if that works. Staying here any longer would be a waste of time."

Hiro looked at the two in shock. It's the middle of the day and they were already trying to break out? The girl was caught stealing and Hiro assumed this Tuatara character was caught doing the same since the three of them were in here together. Wait, hold the damn phone why wasn't this kid put in cuffs too? Hiro sighed as he shook his head.
"Look kid, this place will be crawling with guards for the next few days. From what I could tell there's some type of tournament going on, I've dealt with these type of things before. Once that event is about to start this place will thin out because every available man will out keeping the peace." Hiro looked Mel in the eyes with a cocky smile.
"If you haven't noticed I'm still cuffed, there's a reason for it too. I'd tell you to ask the other guy but I'm sure he can't talk at the moment, I only got this to claim self defense" Hiro pointed to his eye with a thumb. "but who knew it was a crime to take it too far? If you really want out just wait a couple of days and I'll have us all out of this cell and into the streets once again." Hiro turned towards Tuatara " Except for you, since you're apparently easily catch-able you might be our bait."
Hiro's gaze quickly returned to Mel, see look dumb enough to try something. Shifting his hands around as if he was trying to break the hold the shackles hand on him he slide the keys into one of the 4in cuffs under his wrist. "Yup, still isn't just going to let go."

Upon hearing Clair's words, Richter's face returned to its usual frown. He more than understood his assistant commander's eagerness to stay out with the men, leading them from the head of the pack, and he respected her desire to do so, but there were other factors to consider here than visibility of leadership.
"Bern is in an extremely delicate situation, Clair" started the commander, shifting his wait towards the door in order to emphasize this fact. "Tensions are high and if we do not take action the rebels could very well make their move, ending our mission before it even starts. At the same time, if we display too strong a show of force, we could turn the very citizens against us." Richter paused, taking a slow breath before continuing.
"Between the Ilian occupation forces and the Bernese soldiers actually cooperating with them, there's enough military force to provide a sense of stability, but not so much as to provoke any counter action from any rebels thinking that Ilia is preparing an assault against them. Because of that, I don't want to have a visible, standing army while we are here. Save for a select group of men dedicated to watching over the supply caravan during our stay, there's no need, and I feel our forces would be better spent integrated with those under Captain Saint's command, ferreting out the rebel networks in the city. It'll allow us to execute our mission, but without drawing too much attention to ourselves."
"To that extent, we need to integrate as well, and go under cover." Richter knew full well this probably wasn't what Clair wanted to hear; she had always been one for direct action, but right now the pink haired Ilian felt this course of action to be the most prudent. "The name Richter Abend may draw the blades of many, but the name Clair Feldsky isn't exactly the safest one to be bearing around here either. You've made a name for yourself." The tall man slid a thumb between the waistline of his pants and his belt, and took two steps closer to his blonde haired comrades, gazing thoughtfully at both of them.
"I'm not suggesting that you trade out your weapons and armor for a dress and fan if you don't want to," Richter continued, addressing Clair in particular, "but this fight is going to be won with information, not soldiers, so by taking steps to be more discreet, we give ourselves more elbow room." He gave a slight nod. "I know somewhere along the line we're going have to crack a few eggs, and I'll be more than willing to do so when the time comes, but if I can, I'd like to save as much of the fighting as I can for the Prophet's doorstep."

Tuatara listened to the man talk. Me and my fat mouth, he thought. I'm never gonna have a sucessful sarcastic joke, am I?
"You can get us out you say?" Tuatara said to Hiro. "I've been captured many times, for various reasons. Usually the best time to escape is right when they put ya in casue their not expecting it. But then again I've never been captured inside a city. Usually it's a fort so.... well that's my input."
Tuatara looked out the door, not seeing many guards. "I may be easily captured, but escape is my specialty. I've very good at distractions and causing confusion. If we can get out I can take care of most of the guards. What's your plan, besides waiting?"

"Ouch, looks painful..." Even Mana felt itchy when she saw the result of her attack. A few broken bones and possibly some torn muscles, that wasn't something anyone would want to experience. By the way, the girl herself had a cut in her palm which still shedding blood.
Unfortunately, she had lost the match...somehow.
"Hey! How come I am the one who lose??? I've defeated him! Don't you see?" Mana forgot the pain in her hand for a second here, she couldn't believe what the announcer just said. Well, she bleed...Yes, in fact...But she didn't get hit or anything, she only cut her own hand! "Hey! Listen to me!" It seemed she was ignored, the man moved to take Wyatt's money. Now Mana felt guilty and angry for some reason.
However, the man never had the money. A strong punch was what he received from Wyatt, not coins. The red-haired blacksmith truly knew how to handle someone "dirty" like that announcer. The girl couldn't disagree with his action, although it might get them into some trouble later. Also, if Wyatt didn't hit the announcer she probably would have done it herself. "Yeah!" she cheered as she clenched her fist, which only resulted with a sharp pain going throughout her hand. Mana got reminded about the wound, it was small and not life-threatening but the bleeding still needed to be stopped. "Uh, it's really hurt...And now my glove has a hole..." she grumbled secretly as she watched Wyatt coming toward her.
"Thank you!" Mana smiled when being praised. "He isn't as good as he claimed. Well, he might get stronger if he trains more often after this. Maybe you should have taken the offer to fight, it would be more painful if you were the one who...crushed his hand. And then I could hit that greedy man for you," she explained as she pressed the wound with her other hand to stop the bleeding. The girl flinched when the pain came again with the touch. It turned a little weird when the place became empty, it seemed the ruckus they caused had made most of the spectators leave.
"It...There will be more people?" Mana sounded rather surprised. She wondered if she could stand having more people watching her in the arena. "Uuuh, I felt a little weird before. Would you feel the same if you were in my place, Wyatt?"

Zero had been attentively watching just the recent arena match that had been going down, and he couldn't be more disgusted with it than ever. Sure he had been to a unfair arenas before, but usually the worst they've done was pair up unbalanced combatants. This however was clearly a rigged match and the announcer and the so called "Champion"were probably in kahoots for their own greed.
"Hmph. That Sacaen woman should've come out as the victor, she would've clearly beaten him down in a true fight. This arena must be biased towards that lancer user. Still, that Sacaen woman seems like she'd be an interesting opponent to spar against someday."
It was then that Zero suddenly felt someone get forcefully bumped into his back,as he forward a little bit and almost dropped his own sword and sheath. Brushing his clothing off and swishing a few fingers across his hair gently,he rose back up grumbling a little under his breath and turned to face the man. It was then at that moment Zero's eyes grew wide, literally awestruck when he noticed who was practically in front of him,his jaw dropped a little bit as he stammered slightly thinking of what to say.
"I...your,are you Kenshin? Kenshin the famed and feared Swordmaster?! I honestly can't even believe this is happening right now! Err...eh,you'll have to excuse me sir, your pretty much my idol and I've always wanted to become your pupil!"

Wyatt laughed on her comment. [red]"Maybe, but they would have expected me to win. I am a 'big strong man', so of course I know how to fight. But a 'little girl'? Of course she has no idea what she is doing."[/red] He laughed loudly at that. [red]"Boy, you sure showed them a thing or two, didn't you? The look on that guys face when you smashed his hand was priceless."[/red] He said with a chuckle, starting to fumble in his pack. His vulnerary, the one Richter had given him back in Etruria, this was the last use of it. [red]"Here, this should help."[/red] He said, pouring some of the ointment onto a bandage and dressing the wound. Hand wounds could be the worst, hard to bandage yourself with a bad hand. [red]"I'd advise against injuring your hand in the future, you need that for swordfighting!"[/red]
The area was starting to repopulate with the usual traffic, and Wyatt looked towards the gate out of the city. he doubted there were many arenas further that way, they'd likely need to go further into the city to find them. At Mana's last question, Wyatt looked at her with a smile.
[red]"Oh there will be a lot more. Thousands, maybe tens of thousands of spectators. If you get stage fright, we better hit every arena in the area until you get over it! We can't have you freezing up in the middle of your debut!"[/red] He announced, moving through the crowd once again. [red]"But the next arena match is mine, I'd like to see how I hold up against these guys as well."[/red] He added.

Post by Clair Feldsky on Jul 14, 2012 10:18:18 GMT -6
As Richter started to speak to her, the blond haired falcoknight could almost see a sigh forming on the Commander's lips. He explained the situation. Quite well, in fact. Just because she was already aware of everything he said didn't change that. She followed his points fine. It made sense to be cautious, but then he got to the point about transferring them to Captain Saint's command. That their soldiers would be working with the city's forces was expected, but simply passing them off seemed.... It seemed outlandish and dangerous to Clair. Perhaps simpler in the long run for the Captain, but it wasn't something she liked at all.
Maybe she had made a name for herself. Maybe taking more care was a good idea, but it still felt unneeded to "integrate". She'd come here to do some good, not sneak around. And it should be painfully obvious that the best place for a flying knight was in the sky, which she'd have to avoid to have any chance of remaining incognito. She just wasn't seeing the benefits.... Actually, that was a lie. She saw some of the benefits. As he said, if people weren't watching them all the time, their actions would have a smaller impact on the political balance of the nation.
Small arcs of lightning began crackling up and down the blade of the Thunderlance as she held it. Surprised, she tilted the violent weapon out away from her and her companions, and turned to look, but as she did, the weapon appeared to return to its steady yellowish glow. Annoyed by the distraction, she turned her attention back to the conversation, wishing that these weapons came with some kind of a guide. The Thunderlance crackled once more, and then went silent.
"And here I thought you just wanted to get me into a dress." It was said as a joke, but there wasn't much humor to spare from Clair on the matter. "The closest thing I've worn to an actual dress in the last three years has been those mass robes the Inquisitorial Army gave us before we left. I wore them over my armor and left my spear in the camp for the ceremony. That ended with the Second Battle of Salvation Point. The first time I remember being truly unprepared, was on the march South from Salvation Point. You ended up fighting High Officer Yurau to the death that time. Every time I've let my guard down, something bad has happened! Heaven forbid Ms. Feldsky should be without her weapons and armor! The whole city might be swarmed by ravenous, destructive dragons!" Surprisingly, the rant actually managed to improve her humor some. She laughed at herself, and the idea that disaster was prowling, and only her preparedness kept it at bay. It seemed rather ludicrous but taken on empirical evidence, it looked solid. Heck! She'd not been there at the army's last battle in the north, when ruin had befallen them. Not until the end, at least.
"No offense intended, Marcus." She turned to the dragon with an open handed gesture. She'd not painted dragons in a very favorable light with that last comment.

"Watch it kid!" the man spit out as he bumped into Zero. He began to open his mouth to talk again as Kenshin decked him in the jaw, he hit the ground and laid there for a few seconds. "Now leave before I strike again. My answer will always be the same." The man got on all fours and started to scurry off as Zero turned around, Kenshin's eyes met with Zero's as he spoke. "I'm sorry about that... I didn't catch your name. To be honest I don't know why everybody idolized me, my cousin Matis was always the better of the two of us and his reasons were always more pure then my own. But I hate to break it to you, I'm not looking for any pupils or will be any time soon. If I ever did you'd have to get in line behind many others."

Marcus gave Clair a causal shrug. "None taken. We are what we are, I suppose. No changing that. And don't worry about leaving your weapons behind. Lord Martyn would never let any harm come to his fair lady," Marcus added with a mocking smile. "Besides, if you're that worried, you can always do what I do," he continued, giving his dagger a little tap. "Concealable weapons may not be as powerful as that lance you've got there, but it's cold steel. And in my experience, cold steel if lethal no matter the length of the blade."
"Of course, if you'd rather keep you weapons and armor, I suppose I could find one of my old robes and become some dark priest just back from another expedition in Nabata. I could make that work just as well. That it, until someone wants me to do some magic. Then the ruse will be blown. Each scenario poses its risks, but either way, I'm fine with the final decision. I'll leave the choice up to you, Clair."

Mel bit her thumb thinking hard about her predicament. At least there were tools at her disposal, the two finks in her with her would prove their use in one way or another. It was true that the guard would be greatly heightened for the tournament, and thought it would be doubtful that they would expect an escape so soon they were more than ready for one. just breaking down the door and running would not yield anything but failure and a tighter guard.
Sadly enough the shackled creep was right, though she would be sure to knock that annoying expression off his face. "Let me guess...you have the squinty pervert eyes...feeling up some women and got caught? Pretended to be a thief to save face? You could be both, stealing something perverted? Wait! It was something from a man wasn't it? Heeh..."
She stuck her tongue out at him and used the momentary silence to gather her thoughts. It was far easier to think after clearing her mind, and insulting someone was by far the easiest way to do so. "With this many guards..." Every plan had holes, there was always one if someone took a good enough look. "We don't have to escape...or run...jut get out, take out two guards, and you two put on the uniforms. Then just keep yourselves disguised long enough to get out. I am too short for a uniform though..."
She tapped her chin staring up at the ceiling "Well I don't trust either of you a single lick so..." Mel frowned her brow furrowing "I could always fake sick...which has an unclear outcome..."
"Or...I could strangle one of you...that would make them come running...and would be completely useless besides making me feel better..."
Holding her hands out she walked towards the red haired one "lets put it to the test, don't worry it will without a doubt be painful and I will enjoy ever moment."

"I've seen idiots try to escape by taking out a guard and steal their uniform back when I was in Etruria's prison. The problem is finding one that is exactly your size, then if you find one the goal is to take them out without getting blood on the uniform, at any rate assault on a guard is punishable by death. And FYI that fight started over a girl anyways." These two seemed hell bent on getting out right away, why couldn't they look at the bright side of this, you get a free room, food, and nobody else can swipe your stuff for a couple of days.
But when the time came Hiro was going to have to take a guard or two out to make his escape, hopefully he was up to the challenge. Now she was talking about strangling one of them. "Look lassie, theft is a minor offense where you get jail time, murder? That's a one way ticket to the gallows, well two way if you count leaving dead." Hiro didn't want to chance it, either they'd split the remaining ones up or keep a guard in the room. The later of the possibles would ruin any hope for an escape, he could care less if the others got out and if they weren't in the same room he didn't have to let them out in fear of a rat.
Why the hell not, sure she was young but at least she was cute. "You owe me big time kid." Hiro rushed to get between the two, put his arms around Mel and leaned in. Pow, right on the kisser, Hiro planted his lips against Mel's holding them there till she reacted. "Hopefully that Tut kid is smart enough to alert a guard. Best case scenario they move her to avoid this happening again."

Post by Jya on Jul 17, 2012 14:58:53 GMT -6
Jya walked into the bustling city with a sense of sadness. They had planned to head to Lycia but the plans were highly derailed due to a number of circumstances. It felt mostly her fault since she was the one guiding Lyrt. Sometimes she wondered that she should just lie and say this was Lycia but it isn't possible concerning Lyrt's situation with her brother. She can't lie to the girl and get her all confused later on. She did however postpone telling the truth until they had actually arrived into the city.
The time has come and she needed to confess to Lyrt about where they were. She turned on her heels to look at the girl only to find a mess of crowd. In her thoughts on trying to tell Lyrt, she had lost the girl in the city! She looked around for her but simply could not find the archer. She was worried as she examined the situation, there was far too many people here. This was not her first time in the city and she did notice that there was far too many people around than usual.
It didn't take her long before she remembered what she had heard on the road. There was some sort of event going on and a number of fighters were coming. She didn't listen to any details however as she didn't plan on getting anywhere near this mess. She just wanted to make a short stop and get supplies and leave before getting into any trouble. However plans like that never seem to go her way.
"Excuse me miss, I would like to ask you a few questions," a man called out. It was a guard to her discomfort she had to let out a sigh. She hadn't done anything wrong, there was a few stolen articles on her but from previous towns. She tried to seem as calm as possible but the man didn't have the edge of a guard catching a thief. It was definitely something else. She opened her mouth to protest but found that she was a loss for words. She couldn't think up a good reason not to go. This was a real problem and she would surely get convicted for whatever the guard wanted if she ran but if she went with him, she would get in a number of difficult situations. She became fidgety, trying to decide what to do.

Lyrts stared around the new city worriedly her crimson eyes opened wide in fear at her unfamiliar surroundings. Jya was gone, disappearing into the mobs of people and leaving the young sacean along in an unknown city full of foreigners. She doubted that the green clothed woman had noticed that she had left her companion behind.
Yet even alone in an unfamiliar place it would be pointless to despair...at least just yet. All she could do for now was search, and look around. They had heard something about a large festival in town on the road, and with a festival there was always fresh fried festival food that tasted so good. It would be alright if she took a walk around first before she found Jya right? The older girl seemed rather comfortable and sure of herself, so there was no worry about her well being.
And so Lyrt walked off slipping thought the crowd smoothly Emon's sword tied securely to her back with a few straps of cloth. Every once in a while she would ask is anyone had seen a girl in green and a kindly old man directed the young lass to the arena, with the reasoning that most people would pass through it eventually.
She thanked him with a smile and set off where most of the blood was headed towards a large building of sorts somewhere in the city, there was no way to be quite to sure her sense of direction was scrambled with so many people.
Following the herd she walked about the stands staring down where a match of sorts was taking place. was it fighting? She was not sure from this distance and slowly drew closer lost up in the excitement bleeding from the crowd.
The crowd too thick to pass through anymore she leaned forward trying to get a better look of the events taking place down below. Yet unlike her spine her brother's sword was unable to bend rudely knocking into a blue haired man's head with its sheathed tip.
There were too many people, it was impossible to see! Lyrt was not short, not at all. In fact she was taller than most of the other women in her tribe, yet with all the people and children up on their father's shoulders there was no way for her to see. Lightly she hopped trying to get a view over their heads as the blade swinging out with the momentum striking out towards the blue haired man once again. "I don't understand what is so exciting..." she mumbled to herself softly.
There was nothing happening of interest, not that she knew of. What was the excitement? She stared around quietly trying to understand it.
