-NOT FINISHED YET-
OOC Nayru notes: can we rename Sig Shop to Art Requests? It's already a general art request subforum, name is a bit misleading
-------------
This has been compiled primarily to walk newbies through the character creation process as well as general integration to the site, but includes information that existing members may find useful as well.
Code of Conduct
First off, we have the general rules by which all members must abide both in-character and out. Please familiarize yourself with and follow all of them!
Registering a Character
Here, you can find the basic profile skeleton you will use to register your character, as well as a brief summary of available classes, restricted starting locations, and starting weapons. It's ok to add extra stuff to the profile skeleton, but please include all of the required fields.
Map of Elibe
For those of us who haven't yet memorized every single location in the Blazing Sword world by heart, this map should be helpful. It shows the location of all countries as well as some major cities.
Leveling and Class Promotion
Way of the Warrior does not use the same leveling system as the games; we measure character strength primarily by post count, and different promotions require varying post counts on top of a promotion item.
Alts and Reincarnation
For those of us who like to play more than one character at once, there are rules; while they can be summarized as "three active accounts maximum per roleplayer," there are restrictions within that framework.
Battle System
If you are not familiar with the normal rules of freeform roleplaying, please be sure to read this topic; it offers a lot of useful information regarding fighting both Non-Player Characters (NPCs) and Player Characters (PC).
Dragons
While it is possible to roleplay as a dragon, rather than a human, the class is held to a higher standard than most and labors under more restrictions - with great power comes great responsibility! Be sure to read this topic and discuss your plans with a staff member before registering one.
Avatars, also referred to as mugshots or portraits, can either be made yourself or requested in the [Art Requests] subforum for those of us who lack artistic talents. The maximum size for Proboards avatars is 100x100 (in pixels); while the forum will attempt to autoresize larger images, ones with non-symmetrical dimensions (ex. 100x70) may need to have their exact size defined in Profile->Modify Profile->the field right below Avatar URL.
Character Stats are not required, nor are they even used mechanically; they are simply an abstract representation of your character's abilities. If you do choose to have a statsheet, however, we request that you follow the general rules of the games. The base stats of characters in Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword or Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones are both fair game; similarly, the growth rates of characters from either Blazing Sword or Sacred Stones can be used. You are welcome to shuffle stats around to fit your character, but please keep a starting-level character in the same stat total range as a level one from the games.
Stat sheets are used to display all of that information concisely. Simply fill in the blanks and click "upload to Imageshack" to create one, and feel free to ask staff or other members for help on what to put in each field! Once you finish, copy the URL of your new stat sheet into your signature (Profile->Modify Profile->Signature field) inside Image tags, as in the following example. Simply remove the empty space from each [ img] tag in order to actually use them.
