"Sticky fingers," Torman said, feigning offense, "I am hurt, good sir, for I am but a simple lumberjack trying to help a lost boy and his family."
Sounds to his right drew his attention. There stood Shugo out in the open.
Crap
Torman clenched his fists, ready to start punching. He would have, had Orlando not stood up and made a fabricated tale of him slaying a bunch of bandits. The mercenary pointed out the falsehood of their claim. Clever. When bringing up the work for the grave digger. Torman decided to go along with it. He cracked his knuckles to intimidate the pair and drew his axe , making sure to let the blade gleam to show its sharp edge. Torman held the axe at his side and stared down the pair. The two men staring seemed to bring the challenge "Try us." The silence that rested in the air was palpable and Torman's blood pounded in his ears. He hoped the bravado would keep away bloodshed.

The duo simply stared at them for a moment. They began to size up the two men, and decided it was not worth the effort. "Very well", spoke the woman as she motioned for her partner to lay down the chest. "We have no desire to see blood spillied, but we will be back", spoke the woman as she exited the room.
Shugo gave a great sigh of relief as he was able to approach the chest, and retrieve his belongings. Immediately Shugo placed on his silk shirt. A great smile crossed his face as he once again looked at the embroidered shirt his father had fashioned for him. Afterwards he placed on his armor witch he missed most of all. It seemed odd to him to walk around without the weight. Not having a shirt on help at that though. Fully armored and now with a shirt Shugo was now almost bouncing with joy.
"Thank you", spoke Shugo to Orlando. He returned the cloak the man had let him borrow. He then walked over to Torman who towered over him in both height and width.
"Thank you Mr. Torman", spoke Shugo. "I am sorry for ever suspecting you as a bad person". At that moment Shugo realized something was wrong. He opened his newly retrieved bag, and then moved to his pockets. "Where is it", spoke Shugo as he began to search his person franticly. Then at that moment it hit him. The woman had taken his pendent.
"No my grandmother's pendent", shouted Shugo as tears began to run down the young boys face. A great sadness began to build up inside Shugo's chest. The memories of his now decease grandmother flashed into his mind increasing the amount of tears. Those tears however soon turned to rage, and the young recruit made an about face and began walking toward the door. He has had enough from these slavers. "Come on Mr. Lance", spoke Shugo to himself. "We are going to take back what is ours. I am going to show them I can give, and not just take."

As the two leave the inn, the crowd begin whispering. Everyone's attention is on Shugo, Orlando and Torman, but it doesn't appear like they care much.
- A simple lumberjack, uh? -
He says with a grin, complimenting Torman.
- So, what are you going t- Wait, what the hell!? -
Orlando is going to adress Shugo, but he disappeared. After seeing the kid go to the door, he takes him as the inn's owner was doing before.
- Hold on, little one! You are not going to waste the life we saved! -

"Didn't work anyway," Torman shrugged off Orlando's compliment. The clattering of armor caught his attention and Orlando began to shout. Shugo had taken off and Orlando followed him. Torman followed and saw Shugo running off after the tracks of the duo's wagon. Torman ran after the two. He and Orlando began to catch up to the young boy. When they caught up to Shugo, Torman shouted, "Kid, wait up! You can't fight those two alone!"
Torman finally made a dive for the boy to stop him, his large arms stretching as far as they could to grab Shugo's legs.

Shugo moved quickly in pursuit. He followed them outside the door despite Orlando's protest, and followed their tracks to what seemed like cart lines. The young boy was beginning to move again when he felt a sudden jolt from behind. Torman, the burly man from the inn, tackled the young boy sending Shugo face straight into the dirt.
Shugo struggled to break free, but the size difference was far too great. The burly mans arms were thicker than Shugo’s legs. The young recruit was going nowhere. It was all he could do to cry out, and pray for release. "No", he shouted as he struggled. "I have to get that pendent."

out of the inn, Orlando leans against a wall and puts his arms folded.
- You know, it's not like they are going to give that back just because you ask him kindly. -
He just pointed out the obvious. Probably Shugo is aware of what the mercenary said, but it looks like he doesn't care.
- Just to know, how many of them are there? It's a large group?
- Whoever they are, they must have something of value in their hideout... It might be worth it to help this kid. -

Torman lifted himself off the ground and helped Shugo up. He kept a hand firmly planted on the recruit's shoulder to keep him from running off again.
"Listen, kid, I understand you want that pendant, but it's not going to mean anything if you die over it. Let's think this through before we go charging after them."
Torman looked over at Orlando. The mercenary looked very calm as he spoke.
"Size doesn't matter," Torman responded, "Well fight as many as we have to to get to the pendant. Bandits are nothing but untrained thieves that apparently steal from defenseless kids."
Torman had gotten himself fuming now. He was ready to take on these people.

Shugo squirmed a bit in an attempt to get loses, but the young recruit soon realized he was going nowhere. He did not like the idea of being forced to be somewhere, but they were good people and Shugo realized he had to trust them.
"They are not Bandits", spoke Shugo. "They are slavers. They were trying to sell me to some nobleman close to the area. Fortunately for me I was able to escape, but in the end I was forced to abandon my belongings. There were about five of them. Two burly men, the scrawny fella, the she devil, and an old man who seemed to be their leader. During my escape I was able to kill one of the burly men through a surprise attack. That is how I got out the cage they put me in. If they have not moved then they will be camped near the city with their carts hidden behind a nearby grove."

- Oh? And I suppose you're really well trained with that woodsman's hatchet! Never underestimate your opponent. -
After the ironic comment, Orlando listen to the boy's information. He remains all the time at the wall, looking at the ground while talking.
- Very well kid, really useful. Now, these are my suppositions: the burly man and the leader are armed with axes, while the skinny one and the slender lady probably use bows or knifes. That's because when bandits and slavers start their work they usually haven't enough money to buy a true weapon, so they arm themself with lumberjack axes, hunting bows and kitchen knives. Because they are only four people, it is unlikely that they are continuing to hunt down the boy. Perhaps they will remain camped out for a day or two and then leave. We will wait until night. Surely they will take turns guarding the camp. If we kill the guard before he can wake up the others everything will be easier. -
He raises his eyes slowly, crossing Torman and Shugo's glances one at a time.
- Questions? -

"You'd be surprised how I trained myself with axes and it's quite possible for me not to use the axe in battle," Torman responded. He flexed his muscles to emphasize how he could overpower most people. The fighter listened to Orlando come up with his theory for the slave traders. He paused as the mercenary looked at him and Shugo.
"No," he responded, "Let's get moving."
Torman lifted Shugo onto his soldier and started walking. He looked back at Orlando, "If we go now, we will arrive by nightfall."

Shugo was a bit surprised by Torman and Orlando reaction. He did not expect them to aid him so easily yet alone be so nice. His time away from his parents had taught him that people are cruel and selfish, but now someone was willing to help him without asking anything in return. They were willing to risk their lives in a battle with slavers just to help a young boy recover his pendent.
"Guess there are good people other than mom and dad", spoke Shugo under his breath. Torman lifted the young recruit up, and placed him on his shoulder. It was a great surprise to Shugo as this was the first time he had been lifted since he was five, and took great delight in it. From the top of Torman's shoulder he could see much farther than he could on his own two feet. He stared over the horizon following the lines from the cart. It was obvious to him now that the slavers were still camped in their old spot. The cart ran the entire way.
"Mr. Orlando and Mr. Torman can you fight good", asked the boy as he looked at the duo. Shugo began to feel a bit of guilt growing inside his stomach. Here two men were going to do battle for his sake. There was a chance that they could be killed. It was not bad for him to loss his own life trying to take back what was his, but for someone else to die for his sake, now that was bugging him. It bothered him even more so with the fact that Torman and Orlando were good people. He did not want to see anyone die on his account.

The trio starts walking in the direction of the slaver's campsite, Shugo seems worried about the other two.
- You will be surprised by my fighting skills, kid. -
Orlando is the first that doesn't believe in his skills at fighting, but he never shows it. The walk seems quiet, and Orlando affords a simple question.
- Shugo, you were their only prisoner? - Spoiler I think Shugo should describe the place

Torman laughed good-heartedly, "Don't worry kid, I can fight well. My axe and I have fought tougher things than just four bandits. You needn't worry about us, but we need to worry for you. You're still quite young."
The trio continued walking, Torman keeping an eye on the tracks. They didn't need to get lost. A question was nagging in Torman's head. He looked at Shugo.
"What's the camp look like?"

"It seemed so at the time, though they might have had more people in the second carriage", spoke Shugo as he closed his eyes to concentrate. "However I did not hear anyone else when we stopped, well other than the slavers themselves. As for the camp it is hidden behind the tree line. They set it up so that a single path through the trees lead t other camp. The front was guarded by a burly man. That is also where they keep the carriages for quick escape if needed. To the left is their tents and the cooking stool. When I escaped I left through a set of thick bushes that were behind the carriage. The bushes however are hard to pass through, and would serve as an alarm for the slavers if we come. The most important thing I noted", spoke Shugo as he open his eyes. "Was that the slavers did not carry axes. Even the burly man I stabbed in the neck carried a sword. The scrawny man I know for a fact he uses a lance."
"Well that is all I can remember" spoke Shugo. "I hope it was helpful."

- Swords? That's quite curious... It seems like they aren't just simple outlaws. -
It doesn't seem, but the mercenary is now a bit worried: the feat will not be easy as he thought.
- The thing begins to intrigue me. And maybe it will be more remunerative... -
- I suppose that does not make much difference in the end, I just hope that none of them know how to use magic -
