She received the onslaught of startling information, each topic seemingly worse then the last. Bandits, dragons, slavers, rebellions, monsters... All of it. Bern was really dangerous nowadays, which elicited a strange feeling from her. She sort of felt like she should stay, help. At the same time however, she wanted to leave and find her brother. Monsters and zombies... It was her duty to slay them. It wasn't just that, that disease she mentioned, it brought back thoughts to her mind. "Sea fever..." She tentatively brought a hand her mouth, quietly thinking. "Zombies, rebellion, dragons, and slavers? Oh dear, it appears Bern has fallen upon hard times. Unfortunate indeed." She sounded sad, but she was deep in thought. "What terrible things indeed... who would want to do such things?" She added innocently, as if it was completely unthinkable to her.
"My brother is strong, far stronger then me. I'm sure he would be fine, but... I do hope he's safe." She closed her eyes and shook her head. "I'm sorry Oichi, I'm sure that was painful to recall." She seemed pained by her own words, she didn't show it strongly, but Iadra could feel the pain in her words. These tragedies did not leave her unaffected, she was a victim. If only Iadra could fix everything, but no man had that sort of power. Not even Elmine herself.

“And here I thought I hid it well”, spoke Oichi as a few tears escaped her eye. The maiden quickly stopped it. There was no benefit to crying. The deed was already done. “I hope you find your brother, and I hope he is in good health. I think there has been to many deaths in Bern of late.” Oichi stared into the sky for a moment. “I hear near Larus and Ostia the land is sick, but to tell you the truth I think Bern is sick as well. It just seems like everything wrong and bitter has taken root in the land.”
Oichi took a deep breath and exhaled out the air. “I think it is best to stop talking about Bern for a moment. It is ruining our launch.”

Iadra closed her eyes and shook her head. "I'm sorry for the loss of life in your land." She said, it was always a shame to see the loss of life anywhere. So many lives ended in an instant before they had a chance to begin, snuffed out like candles in the night. That was one reason she found the undead so very detestable. They were a... a... a mockery of life. Laughing in the face of everything they have to live for, defying the natural order, they were creatures that had to be put down no matter what. Just thinking about it filled her with an almost sort of fury, but she hid it well and took calm even breaths and conducted herself like a proper refined lady should. Still, it would never stop being so unfortunate and sad.
"Yes, let us talk of more pleasant things." She added with a warm grin. Oichi would probably be glad for the change in topic, it was never due to dwell upon the misfortunes of the past. Of course it raised the question of what to speak about, for while Iadra was skilled in small talk after the previous conversation it felt sort of out of place. "I love the way you do your hair." She complimented the braids in the squires hair. "It's very cute, and appears useful to keep them out of the way while riding so it's clever as well."

“Oh thank you”, spoke Oichi. The awkwardness level was quite high, but the maiden put forth the effort to force in a better conversation. “I use to wear this style even before I started to ride”, spoke Oichi as she touched her hair. Fawn memories popped into her mind as she began to talk about completely nothing. End Thread
