Oleg took the keys and nodded, releasing the kids as they swarmed around him, cheering. He proceeded to jump out of the cart, moving to the one behind the one he was in. He then opened those locks as well, more children gathering around him as he then headed towards Butorega, the children following him in a organized line. "Here they are... Now. Did any of them get away? I would not wish to be found out by my employers..."

“Every one of them is dead, with the exception of you”, spoke Butorega. The Paladin however did not draw his blade. His words were more of a warning than a threat. Butorega took the time to count the kids. They numbered ten in all. A few of them looked around his age. Almost two to three years younger. One of them was actual the same age as him. “Right”, spoke Butorega as he let out a great sigh. “Do any of you know where you live?”
The happiness that once filled the crowd of freed people suddenly went dead. They all stared at each other and some of them even began to cry. A young woman, the one who was the same age as Butoreg, stepped forward. “Well sir knight”, she spoke. “We were all taken from the same village. Our families were killed by bandits and we were sold into slavery.”
Honor less dogs thought Butorega. He himself had been a bandit, and had participated in the destruction of towns, but he never stooped so low as to selling people into slavery. In fact he had killed a man who made mention of the deed. Still this left these people in quite a bind. With no home to return to and no place to call their own they were pretty much doomed. It would not be long before another band of slavers, or bandits caught wind of their movement. They would just end up in the same situation.
“Can we go with you”, spoke the first boy Butorega had saved. He was around the age of 13 and was the youngest of the group.
“Yes can we go with you Sir. Knight”, spoke another. The children stared at Butorega with eyes filled with hope and longing. Butorega was not a man to give out sympathy, but he could not help feeling some of these kids pain. The brigand took in a deep breath and let out a sigh. “Fine”, spoke Butorega. As the words left his mouth the children gave out a cry of happiness. “Don’t get so happy yet”, spoke Butorega. His words silenced the cheers. “First off I am not a knight. So let us go ahead and clear that misunderstanding up right here. Second where I live is not the best place to stay. It is a bit run down and old possibly scary if you’re a crybaby. I have enough room for you all, but if you stay you are going to have to pull you own weight.”
“That is fine”, spoke the maiden. She had become a speaker for the rest of the group. “Anything is better than wondering around Bern again and being sold into slavery.”
“Very well”, spoke Butorega. “Clear out the carts for anything worth value. You can throw the cages out. We are taking the carts and horses back to the castle.”
“Castle”, spoke some of the younger kids with excitement.
“Oh boy what have I got myself into”, spoke Buorega as he turned to Oleg. “I need to talk with you for a minute.”
