The frost chilled as usual, Karen mused. The small group composed of a pegasus rider, a street urchin, and an acolyte had arrived in town yesterday. Karen had not started on her true objective just yet, instead sampling some of the local food. She had to admit, it was rather good. For the time being though, there was that other matter that she'd need to take care of while in town as well.
She entered back into the inn once more, heading toward the room she'd booked. The icy-blue haired woman briefly wondered in Jule had any luck yet as well, though she had a feeling that girl's luck wouldn't turn out so well. Perhaps it would though, who could say? She'd said a prayer to St. Elimine blessing the girl the night before, but at any rate, Karen realized the need for physical help as well as spiritual. She could spend this day helping the girl search. Not much to do but wait for her the girl to turn up once more though. It was getting about lunch time now.

Jule had wandered around in the cold aimlessly, hating every second of being outside. The brief respites inside taverns only made her dread going back outside along with the sudden heat making her muscles nearly too sore to stand. The little burglar felt a stab of guilt for convincing a nun of all people to help her look for someone that didn't actually exist. More often than not she wondered about where Jeode got off to before quickly realizing that The Green Wraith was who she was looking for. The pegasus rider was just a means to an end so she didn't feel quite as bad for Miss Lisa. It also didn't help that the rider's Illian uniform, although unkempt, was lined with fur. Coupled with her assumed resistance to the cold, Jule almost wished she was a pegasus rider herself. They looked so graceful flying through the sky--ignoring the fact of how much of a hell it was getting to where they were now onboard Lisa's mount.
The door to their residential tavern swung open with ease, and she quickly slammed it shut. It didn't make a sound; maybe it had been freshly oiled the other day, so it wouldn't freeze over? She wasn't a woman of science. The thief passed by the innkeep without a peep from them. They had remembered the little shivering girl in the patchwork coat; she wasn't someone that was easily forgettable, unfortunately. Jule stomped the snow off of her boots with every step up the stairwell, opened the door to her room, and plopped down on her bed, completely ignoring the other(s). All she could think about right now was how warm it was getting.

Karen looked over as the door to their room opened, taking in the sight of the shivering Jule before she practically collapsed onto one of the beds. Admittedly, Karen was glad she wasn't the only one getting tired of the cold around here. "Did you have any luck, Jule?" She did hope the young girl had, but the way she'd entered wasn't much of a good sign in that area.

Jule wrapped herself up in the musty woolen covers that were originally covering the bed. Its smell reminded her of home, and that made her a little sad. Not even Bern's keen scent of mountain goat and patriotism could really match the fine smell of drying hides and wool from a textile shop. "I wish I had.." she sighed inwardly. "Not hide or hair of he--him, Sister Karen. You didn't find anything either, right?" She looked to where the acolyte was; nothing looked any different about her nor did she have anything new except for a few breadcrumbs on her cheeks. It was fine if the nun had gone out and grabbed a bite to eat; Jule's currently negligible pouch of money was only for emergencies, or food. "I hope we ca-"
With a thump and a shatter of glass, she saw a man literally booted out of the inn and into the slush from the window adjacent to her. With her cloak still wrapped around her, the little urchin shuffled to the glass window(talk about fancy!). The man was already up and yelling something that she couldn't quite make out, but the axe he was brandishing was clear enough he meant harm. Jule couldn't make out that the man's cheeks were as red as the spirits he'd been drinking. He threw his weapon down in the dust, gave the bouncer--another denizen of the bar, but far bigger--several profane gestures before skulking off into the cold.
"What was that about?" she said to no one in particular.

"You didn't find anything either, right?"
Karen shook her head as Jule looked over at the older woman. "Nothing substantial. I've heard word of a couple bands of ruffians around, but nothing about a young man with any of them, mostly gruff mountainmen out to try and make some easy money." She sighed after finishing bringing Jule up to speed. Frankly, she was starting to wonder about whether the group Jule was after was even in the country at this time. They could have tried to cross the border already or may very well be stalking around it.
She stood from her chair a moment later as the sound of breaking glass and a man being thrown reached up to their room. Jule was already at the window and Karen moved behind her a moment later. Down below was a man shaking his axe threateningly at the bouncer before ultimately storming off.
"What was that about?"
"I'm not sure. Probably a drunk causing a commotion." Karen mused privately to herself about the man. He wore some familiar symbols on his clothes, no doubt a mercenary of some sort. They were all over Ilia after all. She made it a point to remember them for investigation tomorrow.
"Well, I'm sure you're hungry. How about I buy you something nice to eat? Quite a few delicious choices around here." She'd moved back over to her chair now, sitting down once more while she looked at Jule.

Jule patted her tummy, and nodded sullenly in agreement. Though they had snacked on provisions the day before, that was nothing compared to a real meal. "I...don't have enough money to afford you or Miss Elizabeth, sister." She replied with an unintentional backhanded comment. "I'm not sure if I have much more than enough to pay for myself to tell you truth." Peering out the window was difficult since the edges of the scenery were fogged over by the pouring slushy stuff outside. "Downstairs they serve nothing but drinks though, I checked. Is there anywhere you looked that had something like meat and potatoes or beans or anything, really! I'd eat peagu-- err uh, horse, if it was there." Jule quipped, glancing over at the acolyte who occasionally brushed crumbs from her robes. It must've been tough to travel so far with so little clothes. Jule had barely done it herself, but that woman sure was something else. Maybe there was some kind of holy water they sprinkled on every time they bathed that gave them invincibility or something? "I can't see much outside, the rain's clouding the window. I'll... I'm going to meet you downstairs after I take a quick peek of outside." Already recovered from the blistering winds she threw the wool covers to the side, hoping for them to land in a cool heap on the bed as she fetched her boots again. But no, they quickly slid to the ground while she laced the leather straps up and opened up the door. It was cold even in the hallway, too! Thank goodness there was practically no cold in the room Karen had picked out; maybe the cleric had visited this part of Illia in her pilgrimages before?

(OOC: Completely out of inspiration for this one and I really can't work up anything, so I'm just gonna lay out a summary here to advance things.)
After arriving in the town of Trent, Karen had setup in an inn with a young thief that had taken to following after her. Though she relaxed the first day with Jule falsely searching for signs of her "brother", Jule was truly in pursuit of the enigmatic Green Wraith. Though Jule had not met with much fortune, Karen's story was quite different. Truly an Inquisitor of Etruria, Karen stalked after a band of mercenaries that were promoting a gathering of like minded groups to try and plot an assassination of St. Elimine's Prophet himself.
Karen bid her time, picking off key figures among the gathering mercenary groups, sowing dissension among their united groups. They started to declare that each was in turn trying to backstab the others, getting them together in order to pick off the competition. She allowed it to continue while briefly aiding Jule in her false mission as well, finding no trace of the lad. When night fell once more however, Karen set off to finish the job.
She managed to pick off the leaders of the other two Mercenary groups before arriving at the abode of the final warrior. Having expected an assassin, he put up a great struggle before finally succumbing to her knives as well. Growing curious about how well armed the mercenary was even for Ilia's current situation, she began to look among his things before finding a clue to an arms merchant on the hidden isle of thieves and cutthroats.
When Karen planned to leave the next morning, Jule insisted on following her once more to this Isle, claiming to have heard about it from another thief and insisting that it was where her fictional brother must have gone to. Though the Elimine Inquisitor was loathe to take the young girl to a dangerous place such as that, she decided to take her along after all.
