A plume of flame, and the insane babbling screams of a crazed mage informed her that Elesia has landed. She cringed as she watched it from up in the air, almost feeling guilty. She could have caught her, or... something. The mage had been blasting around with fire and wind all over though, moving too fast for her to have actually done anything. Hopefully she wasn't gruesomely murdered, otherwise what would the point of her helping have been. Of all the people she hates, she hated these guys the least, she didn't want to sit there and watch a girl get disemboweled. "C'mon Medusa." She snapped her reins as the horse bolted forwards. She didn't have to break through the crowd like the sunburnt mercenary, she could circumvent it by going over.
It wasn't a charge that was without resistance, however, the same folk that targeted the falling Elesia made it their goal to target the quickly approaching pegasus. They looked like magic users, but the girl really didn't know much about magic in general. She met... Actually all there was is the dorky guy with the ridiculous mustache from before. That's all the experience with magic she's had. However in the academy they taught them how to take evasive maneuvers against them, magic was dangerous much the same way as arrows were. They could strike the riders clear out of the air, and it was the magic of wind that was the most dangerous of all. One of them fired what looked like a thick lance of pure black energy, thick and goopy, like molasses. He tossed it through the air and right at her. "Medusa!" Elisabeth urged her horse, the pegasus wordlessly understanding as they rolled to the right to avoid the inky magic. The flying creature managed to make it's why right beside the weakened mage's side, standing next to her.
"Elesia." She said, but not entirely sure what there was TO say. She seemed pretty out of it. Whatever, she could wait to comfort her. Or something. Lisa wasn't really good at this sort of thing. She slipped off the side of her pegasus and landed on the ground with a soft 'pomf' noise. "Medusa, you look after her." She told the horse, which was kinda... Well she was sure Medusa'd do a good job, point was someone needed to make sure she didn't get toasted while laying on the ground like that. She held her lance and turned towards the shaman who seemed to be readying another spell.
She rushed, running straight at him, her spear in her hands as she picked up speed like she was ready to pole vault with it. She wanted to get there before he could cast another spell, but she was too far away. She couldn't run even half as fast as Medusa could fly, she had no choice but to watch as the man created a sickening black orb of that viscous magic, watching as it sort of dripped into the ground. Which was confusing, she was so close now why would he-
Her leg got stuck. She worriedly looked down at her foot, to see she stepped in some sort of... gooey think. Like demonic dog poo. She tried and tried, pulling at her leg but it remained rooted. "Uhn..." Oh no. Oh no oh no. No no no. Oh Elmine, it was spreading. It was... crawling up her leg. Like a black snake. She tried harder, but her other leg had become rooted as well. Tendrils of elder magic grappling her and she could feel it sapping at her. Draining her. That smug bastard was so close. So... damn... She could almost... touch...
He held his hands in the air like he was controlling the flow of the magic, like he was the one grabbing her, like he was the one crushing her. The flux of dark magic was gripping at her as she just had to watch his stupid, idiotic, dumb, moronic face grin that stupID GRIN AT HER! "AHHHHHHHH!!!!" She burst from those idiotic snakes of horrible dark magic and with an inarticulate scream of pure fury she yanked herself free of the tar pit she found her self in. She smashed right into the man and knocked him on his back as she pinned him down. Holding her spear in both hands she smashed the blade of it right into that damn smug grin of his! Over and over and over until his face was nothing but a bloody mess.
The adrenaline began to fade and the battle lust relinquished its deceiving fog on her mind as she really thought about what she just did and... wow. She has problems. Now she was all covered in blood too! Ugh. That's gonna take forever to get out. Slowly she stood up, looking over at where Medusa was. There were other soldiers too, it was the rear guard after all, but it looked like a few of them were... Well scared isn't the right word, but a little apprehensive at least. At least she had that working for her. Of course that wouldn't last forever. Ugh. Might as well get this over.

Elesia sat up abruptly shortly thereafter, still slightly dazed and confused but not actually injured. Yet. It was more exhaustion; she had used a LOT of magic in the recent few minutes, stressing both her magical reserves and her mind's ability to process that much data, and the emotional rollercoaster was starting to get to her too. The likelihood of her actually admitting it to Elisabeth anytime soon was pretty low, but somewhere in her peabrain she was actually pretty grateful to her pega-sis, and also the pegasus, for giving her a chance to relax.
In the middle of a brutal, bloody battle.
The irony of the situation was entirely lost on her.
Mostly Elesia just sat there and gawked at Elesiabeth - Elisabeth - holy crap their names were like the SAME, except not, her mind was completely blown - what was she thinking about? Oh, right, lizzy was straight murdering a guy. Elesia didn't know jack squat about dark magic, but from what she had seen from Zach and now this, she kinda wanted to. It was really grody magic though. So maybe she didn't. But she DID want to learn more about it... just not do it. Did that make sense?
OH WELL. She hopped up anyways, nearly tripping over her own feet as she suddenly remembered she was still dizzy. Woops a daisy. She managed to turn it into a lazy pirouette and sort of wander on in Elisabeth's general direction anyways. "Oh MAN you face stabbed him a bunch. I was gonna ask him how to dark magic, too," Elesia began brightly, as if she wasn't swaying and Elisabeth hadn't been skinny-dipping in an ocean of blood and body parts. "Also I realized our names are like the same thing, Elisabeth, Elesiabeth, just you're more bethier. And I guess I'm purer."
The wild mage hiccuped. "Is this what a hangover is lke? Hal said I wasn't supposed to drink and it would do bad things to my head. And also stomach. How are you feeling?"
No, there was no giant battle going on over there, Orcleous wasn't risking his life or naything, Hal wasn't having aerial duels with lost loves from his childhood, it was just her and Lizzy having a pleasant conversation in a grassy field full of flowers.
Flowers and also a lot of dead people. And some angry people starting to come at them. Thaaaat was probably a bad thing. She smiled with the brilliant brightness of a thousand people casting light magic at once anyways. "So... whuzza plan?"

Orcleous charged forward in what was close to a berserk rage. He did not think about his surroundings, about the others, or even about himself. He thought of killing the enemy and how he was going to do it. The first person to approach Orcleous as a lance user. Orcleous was tired of fighting them by now. Every other soldier came at him stabbing his lance. Why could none of them swing sword or attack with axes, but no they had to use lances. They were always trying to take advantage of the weapon triangle.
As the man stabbed his spear forward Orcleous flipped into the air. It was a single spin flip. Not that fancy multiple spins in the air attack that you would see from show offs trying to impress other peoples daughters. This was a pragmatic choice to avoid the spear head and deliver a fatal blow in all in one motion. Orcleous sliver blade came down on the man's helmet and split it open like a watermelon. However the swordsmen did not take the time to celebrate or even to show emotion with the kill. His mind had already been moved to the next opponent.
"A swordsman", spoke Orcleous. There was no excitement in his voice or emotion. The mercenary's eyes turned to the man's blade. It was iron and had rush around the center of it. Somebody was doing a poor job at taking care of their sword. Orcleous was going to make him pay for that one. As the two swordsmen came in slashing range Orcleous let his opponent make the first move. He swung his blade in a horizontal slash doing his best to keep Orcleous from flanking him and cutting him down from the side. As he swung Orcleous pinpointed the spot where he saw rust one the blade and swung his silver blade to clash with it in mid swing. The two blades clashed and the other man's sword snapped like a twig. The tipped portion of his blade flew off and planted itself into the dirt. with surprise the man looked at his sword. The poor fool did not even realize his blade was weak. Orcleous pulled through from his last sword slash and turned the attack into a spin. His blade traveled in a circle and swung around cutting into the defenseless man's mid section. The guards armor had prevented the blade from cutting to deep ,but the wound was long enough that he was going to be dead in a few minutes. Orcleous left him there to die in agony as he rushed forward toward his next opponent.
Orcleous blood rage did not go unnoticed by the enemy. Not many soldiers wanted to charge him anymore after seeing him take down three men in a row. Quick to change their tactics a mage stepped up and began to fire bolts of brilliant light at Orcleous. The mercenary registered the attack, but realized there was little he could do to stop it. The light bolts flew forward and slammed into Orcleous crimson armor. With little to no resistance it pierced through the steel plate and berried itself into Orclous flesh. The mercenary however was to hyped up on adrenalin to care at the moment. He was bleeding, but the wound was not fatal. Like a madman he charged forward pressing on and closing the gap between him and the mage.
The mercenary undaunted charge toward the acolyte sent a shockwave of fear into the man's heart. He had never seen such a rage before. Normally a single bolt was enough to make the hardest warrior fall to their knees and retreat in fear, but not this man. This man kept pressing forward kept closing the gap. "Die", he shouted as he shot another bolt of light magic toward Orcleous. The mercenary was not keen to taking another hit. As the bolt of light flew forward Orcleous cut into it with his silver sword. The polished blade reflected most of the damage from the beam and allowed the swordsman to continue moving in range of the acolyte. Now the man was truly frighten. In fear he began to shoot more and more bolts of light. Not only was he missing because he was no longer aiming, but each one was progressively weaker. Orcleous had broken the man's faith in his ability and thus weaken the force of his magic.
With a loud roar Orcleous deflected the last of the man's attack and planted his sword into his chest. The last thing he saw was Orcleous crazed eyes as he ripped the blade out of the man's side. "Next", spoke the mercenary as he stared at the guards with a crazed look.

She was breathing deeply, trying to catch her breath. She was still sore all over from whatever that shaman did to her, but she was alive and that was important. She held her spear low to the ground as blood dripped from its tip, blood on her face, blood on her cloak. She looked like some hormonal teenager's painting or something, oh the shame. Her narrow shoulders heaved a bit as she took deep heavy breaths, but none of the soldiers looked particularly keen on rushing at her. The was SOMEONE keen on that however, as evident by the ball of green and white running up to her. Or... sort of meandering up to her actually. Hrm. She cocked a curious brow, but didn't say anything. She seemed as carefree as usual, if not as energetic. "I don't think he would have given you a very good answer." She said sarcastically. She couldn't tell if the girl was joking or if she actually wanted to ask someone who tried to kill her about magic. Wait yes she could, obviously she was serious.
"If you're purer, I guess I'm just more complex." She played along with Elesia's little rantings, it reminded her of some of the children in Arphen, even though she clearly wasn't a child. She had the demeanor of one at least. Lisa had a tired smile, but she smile all the same. Even though they were kind in the middle of a blood battlefield, outnumbered three to one, were tired and drained, oh and she was covered in what was probably brains. Clearly the best time to hold a conversation with a friend. "A hangover? I feel like I was just punched in the face. And the arms. Legs too. My stomach a bit. Also someone rubbed gravel into my skin. Not to mention stinging like I stepped on a woodchip awkwardly. I think I might be bleeding, but whatever that's not important. I'm tired and exhausted, and I really could use a good nap. All in all I'm good how about you?"
The plan? "The plan?" She wondered. "I wonder...." To be honest, she didn't have one. "To be honest, I don't really have one. I'm guessing 'getting on my pegasus and flying out of here' isn't gonna work. There's also that other guy... Wonder how he's doing?" The mercenary was probably being a dork and doing dorky things and thinking it looks cool, as that is the nature of the swordsman. Not him in particular, but swordsmen in general. They were the type to do something and stand there admiring their own work and being 'damn I'm so cool' which was inherently lame in her eyes. Nothing personal... Maybe it was a little personal.
She gripped her lance with a newfound tightness, holding it low to the ground. The spear itself was nothing special, thin and long. The haft was reinforced with metal, so it could withstand the force of being slammed into people from atop her pegasi, but it also made the weapon a bit heavier then it would usually be. She carried it fine enough, but when she was tired like this it really reminded her that she was stupid and had a dumb heavy spear. The small shock she gave the men wore off by now, and they were lining up to come and get her. Almost literally. Really now, lines? What are they gonna wait their turn and come at her one at a time? It was polite and everything, but why? Ugh. Oh well. She let go of the lance with one hand and formed a 'C' shape with her fingers. She moved to bring it to her mouth but... "Eugh." She wiped the blood off on her cloak. She moved again and let out a piercing whistle the blasted through the air, Medusa kicked into the air and came up besides her. She put her foot in the rung on the saddle and with a 'hup' she swung her leg over and got on the steed. Fiddling a bit with some straps on the saddle, to secure herself in the seat. She's done this a ton of times, the muscles in her hands moved by memory engraved upon them, it took only a few moments.
The men were coming, but she didn't want to just leave Elesia there. She offered her hand down to the mage. "Wanna fly?" She asked with a grin.

Sol saw his pray prone, laying on it's back. He knew this was the time to go for the kill, diving down with fangs bared landed upon the larger wyvern pinning it's wings to the ground. He dug his talons into it's wings as it struggled to get him off. The two whipped their heads around trying to sink their fangs into the other while avoiding a deadly blow, it was then the tamed wyvern lunged forward for Sol's chest, there was no way to avoid it without moving. Sol gripped it's wings as he pushed off into the air, creating larger rips in it causing it to hiss in pain. Sol did his best to ensure that it was grounded, and with such large holes in it's wings it seemed he was successful.
"I'm sorry to hear that about your family Hal, I really am but that doesn't change the fact that you're a criminal. You're a horrible, selfish person Hal. You almost murdered somebody, you ran away from your crimes and innocent people were killed because of it. Even now you risk the lives of your family and girl friend for your freedom." Hal's entire body ached, but hearing Sarah belittle him like that was... She was no better than James. He knew she was caught up in this political bull crap and was probably spoon-fed lies, but he wasn't about to let anybody harm his family again. "You're wrong. At the time I had thought I was saving a defenseless wyvern from a monster but now I know I was potentially saving this town from him. The only crime I committed was the fact I had failed to do so."
Hal began to charge at the unarmed woman with his lance pointed at her. She waited for the right moment and grabbed it, she pushed it away as she swept his feet throwing him to the ground. Hal was laying on his back, struggling to prevent Sarah from stabbing him with his own lance. "You need to wake up Hal, this isn't a fairy tail. There's no such thing as 'heroes' and 'villains'. Just people, their actions, and their consequences."

"Yeah... prolly not," Elesia agreed readily enough after a moment of contemplative silence. "Zach was better with that stuff anyways, he totally like, pulled apart one of those giant spiders with it! And the skeleton dead guys... that was actually pretty funny he totally pulled them halfway into the ground so the good guys - well, they were bandits, but we thought they were good guys then - could just kill them. The dead thing I mean. We killed the CRAP out of the bandits later too, though, so I guess you could take it either way."
She puffed up with pride as if she had managed all of that. Zach was a friend, and friends helped friends, so in a way it was kinda like it was all thanks to her, right? Yeah, that sounded like foolproof logic.
That the kid she knew as "Zach" had been one of the primary tacticians for the Rebellion itself was, probably for the best, completely unknown to her, or this whole killing-people-from-the-rebellion thing would have caused a pretty major crisis in conscience. So far, Elesia had stubbornly managed to refuse to even draw the connection between Zach's rebellious friends and - well, the Rebellion, which she was currently engaged in severely depopulating.
But now was not the time for her to realize much of anything, because just about the instant Lizzy offered a carpet ride, Elesia's brain shut down so fast it would have gotten whiplash. If it was capable of that. "YES!"
There was sort of an awkward pause as her total unrelenting jubilation and excitement was finally caught up to by her brain. "I mean... sure," she amended, in a tremendously unconvincing attempt at being casual and not eager as heck to jump on board. She had never actually ridden one of those white horse things, and they looked softer than Sol. Not that Sol wasn't WAY more badass and hardcore and dragon-y, she mentally appended, for his sake.
Mouth caught somewhere between a grin and war snarl, Elesia extended her hand in return to be hauled u-just kidding she grabbed the hell on and swung herself up with absolutely no concern for the results of her actions.

"More, more, more", thought Orcelous as he pressed forward. The swordsmen was undaunted by the enemy numbers, not because he was confident in his skill, or that he had a secret weapon. Orcleous was just not thinking properly. He was in a rage and as a result he showed no fear on the battlefield. This lack of fear caused the enemy to fear. They watched as he powered through the acolytes assault and acrobat his way through the soldiers spear counter. A eerie silence fell upon the men as they looked at the now resting mercenary. Orcleous kept a fearsome expression on his face as he stood still and watched the enemy.
Reason and logic had returned to Orcleous head. He was no longer focus on simply killing the enemy. The loss of such focus made him weaker in the offensive portion of battle. However it made him stronger defensively. The mercenary noticed a few of the guards trying to slowly move to his flanks. No doubt they plan to charge him all at one in an attempt to run him through. Not a bad tactic when one considers the situation. Still Orcleous was going to have to do something to prevent it.
Orcleous took another deep breath and the guards braced themselves for his assault. It seemed they had picked up on his habit of breathing before he did something major. Without giving the enemy another hint about his next move Orcleous dashed to the right. He began to sprint toward some houses in hope of using the alleyways between them to limit the number of enemies that could fight him at once. Seeing what the mercenary was up to a soldier rushed forward in an attempt to block his path. Orcleous was not going to let the man get in his way. He charged forward straight toward him.
The first to make a move was the solider. He stabbed forward with his lance aiming to run it through Orcleous neck. The mercenary deflected the tip of the spear with his sword knocking it off path. However it still managed to slash the side of Orcleous face as he charged forward. The mercenary was on the inside now and with a swift slash of his blade he drove his Silver Blade deep into the man's chest.
"Dang that makes fifteen", spoke a solider as he counted the body count applied to Orcleous blade.
"Hey go around the alley way and cut him off", screamed one soldier as they began to move to surround the swordsman. As one of guardsmen turned the corner he was meet with a blade to the skull. Orcleous was waiting for them come around.
"Come on lets see what you all got", shouted Orcleous. The swordsmen was fighting against both exhaustion and pain. The wound he received from the acolyte was throbbing now that his berserk rage had calmed down. The situation was starting to look grim, but Orcleous had to make the best of it. There was no back up here, nor was there any retreat Orcleous was on death ground and every step and move counted.
"There he is", shouted one of the soldiers as three archers came down one end of the alley way. They pulled back on their boy's and Orcleous knew what the result was going to be. Desperate to avoid the arrow volley Orcleous charged forward and rammed his body through the door of a nearby house. His action frighten the family inside as a armed man suddenly burst through their door.
"Sorry about that", spoke Orcleous as he looked at a bearded man holding a dagger. He was trying to defend his family, but in truth he stood little to no chance. "Excuse me", spoke Orcleous as he grabbed a nearby lamp and tossed it on a man who followed him. The lamp covered the man in oil and set him on fire. Not overstepping his welcome Orcleous rushed out through the back door and pushed into a nearby alleyway.
"Where is everyone else", he asked as he took a moment to catch his breath.

Medusa made a noise as Elesia jumped right on, it was a little rougher than she was used to but she should honestly just be happy that the girl didn't fireball her way on her something. Lisa rubbed the horse from underneath it's armor with a calm smile. "Now now May, don't worry. She's a friend." She calmed the mare. Now wasn't the time to wait around however. "Hold on to my waist Elesia, we're going up!" She said to her passenger, hoping she would listen, because honestly they didn't have the luxury to explain how to ride a pegasus right now. She snapped the reins and with a loud neighing the horse took flight just as some lancemen where about to close in. A few of them tossed their spear at the horse, "Hold on tight!" she told Elesia as the horse dashed from side to side, evading the thrown weapons with relative ease. They weren't javelins, and weren't designed to be tossed, simply the futile attempts of men without options.
It was a bit odd however, the Ilians were known for their pegasi but these men didn't seem extraordinarily equipped to deal with them. There were few archers, and the ones they had she dealt with. The men seemed to possess only short ranged weaponry, which puts them at a severe disadvantage when it comes to dealing with flier, and they lacked a fair deal of flyers themselves. Only the one taunting Hal seemed to be present. If an Ilian fleet were to sweep in, they would deal with this rabble no problem. Hell, they were just three mismatched novices, and they were managing to pull through. Something was off... or maybe it was her imagination. It could be either, she tended to make things up when she found the actual reasons stupid. So as a result she made things up a lot.
After all, the dork with the sword was cleaning house. He didn't look like some unstoppable engine of destruction, he looked younger than she was, and somehow he managed to bowl over the soldiers and snap them like they were twigs without any sort of difficulty. This was not a well trained unit of the rebellion, or at least of the same rebellion she fought with Clair. They were organized, they were skilled, they were brutal. She could still feel the injury she took in the shoulder long after the cleric healed it up, the memory of the pain lingering far longer than the pain itself. She shook her head and shook it off.
"We're going to meet up with that one dork, alright? Safety in numbers." She told Elesia, as her eyes caught the man. She tapped the horse in the side with her foot, guiding the steed towards the man as it dove. Not as fast as it usually would, after all she had a passenger, but the wind was definitely whipping around their faces. Her hair tied into a ponytail... might be in Elesia's face. If so, sorry bud. Maybe she should get a haircut, it wasn't like her hair did anything. The horse neared the ground and it slowed it's descent, crashing and crushing some poor... archer? It looked like an archer. Anyways the horse landed on an archer there was a clear 'crunch' noise as his bones snapped. She took her lance and dove it into the man trapped under the horse's neck, ending the pain he must be in.
"Hey." She waved lazily to the mercenary.

Hal knew he couldn't keep her from stabbing his own lance into him for long, he wasn't a fighter while she was. Hal pushed the tip of the lance away from him as he loosened his grip, causing her to stab the ground. He was at a disadvantage with her over him like that, he brought his feet up and gave her one good kick. It knocked her back, the sudden push caused her to fall on her back, Hal wasted no time raising back to his feet. If he was to help protect Elesia, or what he thought was protecting her, he would have to finish this fight with Sarah and quickly. That would mean he would have to kill her, if you had asked him if he could when he saw her again the answer would have been no. The fact she treated him like an evil person and just tried to kill him just seconds ago made him change his mind on sparing the girl. After dealing with her and making sure Elesia was alright he would finish up some loose ends and go after James.
"If killing an evil man is wrong, then I don't want to be right." Hal proclaimed as he pulled his lance out of the ground. He had also wasted no time in charging Sarah once again, she had no time to prepare herself as Hal drove his lance into her stomach, the girl was just as shocked as Hal was that he would go that far. Pulling the lance from her he stabbed once again, then repeatedly before she laid on the ground motionless.
Sarah's wyvern had lashed it's tail upwards as Sol jumped away, catching him from below knocking him down. It stumbled up as Sol did, it was able to reach out and grab a hold of the top of his wing. Sol hissed in pain as he wrapped his jaws around it's neck, and with a powerful bite he had snapped it's neck. It hit the ground as Sol let out roar of victory, it didn't take long for him to start to lick his wounds. He knew his wing was broken so flying was out of the option.
Hal looked over towards Sol as he let out his victory cry, it was nice to see Sol alive. He then took a second to mourn the lost of a former friend, he didn't hate Sarah still, but she posed a threat and he had to do what he needed. He took a deep breath before he went charging back into the fray, this time with the other rebel soldiers. He charged into one with his shoulder from behind while impaling another. "Stay away from my home and my family you scum!" The last time Hal fought another living human, he had a terrible feeling in the pit of his stomach but not this time. He knew why he was fighting, what it meant to win or lose. He did not care what happened to him as long as justice was brought down upon those who wronged the innocent.

Hmmm... maybe she should have fireballed herself on or something. Was that even a verb? Regardless, Elesia felt vaguely as if she had disappointed herself by being so boring about mounting the pega-sis. OH WELL at least there was excitement and stuff ahead. Turned out that riding a pegasus was like riding a unicorn; once you learned you never forgot. Or a wyvern. Whatever. Point was, they- oh there Orcleus was. What happened to the battle? Why were they in an alleyway? How had Lizzy known exactly where to look? Elesia was even more lost than usual, but that didn't stop her from cackling with maniacal glee at the chaos before following her heart and hopping off the Pegasus they neared Orc, performing a rather ballin' reverse double backflip into death cannonball drop while launching an orb of dancing flame at a pair of archers rounding the corner that imploded into a seething sea of... well it was really more of a bubble popping, actually. Really she wasn't sure where the ocean metaphor was supposed to go.
The point was that there was fire, the surprised archers were pulled in together a little for a second, and then the satisfying POP as they were burninated. Elesia had long since stopped paying attention, mostly because she didn't want to break every bone in her body and several more besides when she landed face first in the dirt, so a couple haphazard bursts of wind and she managed to land... on her back, admittedly, but she popped up like an Elesia-in-the-box immediately afterwards and it hadn't hurt or anything. Much. This flying thing was a LOT harder than she had figured it would be. Like, she was supposed to be dancing on sunshine and stuff already, and all she could really do was sometimes jump high or not land as hard. What was the point of that? Wind magic sucked, man.
She wondered if she could make the earth itself come alive. It seemed kinda... right. Gaea... something. Sounded kinda familiar. Like a well-worn pair of underwear. She didn't actually know what that was like, but she'd heard the saying and it sounded funny. Point was, making volcanoes and eating people with dirt sounded fun. Oh and Orc was still there. She greeted Orcleus with a brilliant smile, very confused on what was going on and not sure what the status of the battle was, and also possible nursing a minor concussion. "Hi!"

Orcleous looked up and saw the Pegasus knight, he was surprised, and for several reason. The first was the very fact that they appeared. orcleous was use to having bad luck. He never figured the people who were his allies would actually show up when he wanted them too and the second reason being they were fine. He was sure the enemy would have done a number on them as well by now. Orcleous was covered in sweet and blood. Some of the blood belonged to the enemy and some of it was his own. He tried to keep the bleeding to a minimum, thank the fates for healing items, but the enemy was doing a pretty good job of putting more hole in him, though he seemed to be more skilled in that than they were. One particular hole hurt a lot at the moment. The blast from the acolyte was truly starting to ache.
"Yo", spoke the crimson clad mercenary as he rose his hand in greetings. "So how many of them did you take down", asked Orcleous as he continued to catch his breath. Their numbers seemed infinite to him. For every solider he cut down two more took their place. You would think the enemy would stop sending men to try and kill him after a while, but nope they seem focus on trying to destroy him and the others. Maybe it was because they had cut down so many of their own that they were willing to push forward or maybe it was because they thought he was Ilian. Orcleous really did not know, but one thing was most definitely true about this situation Orcleous was starting to regret hid decision to help. High chance of death with little to no possibility of pay. To make it worse any fame he got from this battle would only come back to haunt him. There was nothing to really gain from this with the exception of a warm feeling of moral correctness in your stomach.
"Dang it how many soldiers do they have to spare", spoke the mercenary out of pure frustration. "I have cut down several of them by now and they keep just sending more. We are going to need a way to stunt their numbers or destroy their spirit if we want to get out of this alive", spoke Orcleous. As the mercenary finished speaking another guardsman came around the corner.
"He is over here", he shouted as Orcleous rushed forward and swung at him with his silver blade. The two clashed for a moment before Orcleous greater reach and power won the day. The mercenary cut the man down and took a look to the sky. Do you all see your friend", he asked. Orcleous thought he would still be up there fighting the other wyvern rider. The mercenary was in a mood to council retreat, but such a suggestion was not possible unless they were all together. People did not usually leave their friends behind and Orcleous has spilled far to much blood to simply pull out of this engagement. At the moment he figured their best option would be to find the other guy. Though he did not voice it. He was too busy sucking wind.

The dork hadn't been too difficult to find, after all all the soldiers in the town were going after one of two targets. Her and Elesia, or him, and with an aerial view it wasn't too hard to follow the soldier's movement and find the end of their charge, which is where said dork in red was. As they landed, Elesia took the opportunity to do a big fiery cannon ball of fire and wind and such nonsense, she didn't know jack about magic outside of it was flashy and apparently she was skilled at protecting herself against it. It looked impressive enough, Lisa found herself nodding at the girl's actions as if she was silently approving. At the very least it was effective, when Elesia wasn't being dumb at least, like earlier when she was zipping around like... like some... Fiery fire bug but instead of a butt it had a tornado. Or something. There wasn't a good analogy. Point is she go herself pretty banged up, but she prefered that to the... goopy crap the shaman had used on her. Ugh, she still had some of his what what hopefully blood all over her cloak. And face. it was in her hair too. Ew.
"I don't really keep count." She told him with a shrug. "Enough I guess." She looked at him try to catch his breath, and he looked in pain. She was in pain herself, great pain actually, but it wasn't... well it wasn't really... physical. It was hard to explain, it felt like she ached and pained inside. It was like having a deep wound, but in her soul. Or whatever quasi-ethereal bullshit that dark magic attacked. It had almost been her end actually, her whole body felt tired. Exhausted, aching with every movement. Even her cocky sarcastic quipping has faltered, she could barely smirk. How could the world be so cruel? The adrenaline still pumped in her veins like a cocktail of competency and was likely the only thing keeping her from just cutting her losses and leaving. And to top it all off, her head hurt. If you've ever had a bad headache, you knew just how awful that was. Made her a little queasy actually.
She shook it off, laughing. "You look like crap." She looked up to see the wyverns no longer fighting. "I dunno about you, but I don't know if I can just fight forever." Maybe he could, like some kind of battle hungry bloodlusting dorkatron. She on the other hand wanted a nice hot bath and to take a nap. She turned her head to the... guy. Did she know his name? Eh. Wasn't important. "You help Elesia. I'm going up." She tells him. Medusa kicked up off the ground, carrying a weary rider. "I'll get Hal. That rider he's fighting with looked to be important. Maybe since he's taken it down, the enemy will lay off enough for us to escape. Or they'll gather up and completely overrun us once and for all. Either way, the wait is killing me." She tells him before blasting off into the air, Medusa's wings beating and cutting through the air as she hovered above the battlefield. Searching for Hal. The four of them against all of these soldiers? It wasn't particularly feasible, it was a better idea to just escape while the soldiers were confused. She only hoped that the others could see that, instead of insisting to fight to the bitter end.
She was in the air, hoping she could see the... Well she wasn't sure what Hal was wearing right now. She hadn't actually talked to him lately or anything. Instead she looked for a guy with a spear (that she remembered, he wanted to shish-kebab her on it) fighting other dudes. Most likely that would be Hal.

It had been a few years since Hal's military training but it had seemed as if his body remembered some of the motions, despite not using them since then. He used his lance to parry another man's lance as he charged him then followed up with a shoulder check to knock him off balance.
Hal could hear a little girl scream, he looked in the direction it came from. He could see his little sister pounding on the window while yelling 'LEAVE MY BROTHER ALONE' before his mother pulled her away from the window. It was at that time he had noticed some of the other villagers joining the battle, not only did they despise the forceful occupation of the rebel soldiers but they were attacking one of their own. Even though some of them had branded the Kailas family as 'traitors' they wouldn't sit by while Hal was attacked, the family had enough pain through loss so they didn't need to lose another.
The villagers joining the battle caught the soldiers by surprise as much as it did to Hal, one of the men ran up from behind and drove his pick axe into the soldier's head. Hal's simple act of defiance to protect Elesia had turned into a battle for the liberation of his home town, the streets had quickly been flooded with violence and blood. Hal pushed forward to find Elesia, he had to make sure she was still safe.
Sol had remained where he was trying to take to the air to look for his master, but despite his efforts his wing was too injured to do so.

"BYE LIZZY," Elesia shouted with naked enthusiasm and all the volume of the end of the world while waving at the departing pega-sis. She wasn't really sure why Elisabeth was ditching them rather than helping fight, buuuuut if she had learned anything in her long and illustrious life, it was that Hal knew the answers to everything and asking him what to do always worked out, so clearly Liz was smarter than she looked if she knew to go looking for Hal when the going got tough.
Man, having friends was nice. And this whole fight was kinda like a party... where a bunch of people were dying horribly... actually that was a really sucky dumb party. Elesia's spirits flagged for a moment as her brain turned on for once before promptly manually shutting it off and turning back to the subject at hand, which was the weird chocolate guy who was actually really nice. She had sorta assumed he was gonna turn out to be the villain or something, cuz dark=bad and light=good, but he had a silvery colored sword, so she assumed that was how he kept his dark side in check.
...Man he didn't look too hot. In the metaphorical sense, she corrected herself, momentarily proud that she had remembered the difference between a metaphor and a simile, and completely unaware that if she had said it out loud she might sound like a crazed pyromaniac or something, and that would just be ridiculous.
"Orklose!" Blissfully unaware of how horrifically she had mispronounced his name, she darted to the mercenary's side rather than stand there gawking up at Lizzy forever, actually paying attention to him finally, and WOW, he looked like ass. "You look like butts." Tact 0, Elesia 1. She was no expert on blood and stuff but that didn't look healthy. "I hope that's bad guy blood, not yours, 'cuz losing that much would be really bad for you. Like... dead... bad for you, which is the most bad for you that you can get."
But she hadn't just come over to (albeit unwittingly) speak ill of Orcleous's appearance; showing a level of foresight never before known to Elesiakind, she produced a vulnerary with a triumphant smile, something Hal had given her in case she got hurt. "Hal said I was s'posed to use this on myself if I got hurt too bad, but, uh, I think you need it more than me. But don't tell him I gave it to you, ok? He gets kinda mad if he thinks I did something bad." With one finger to her lips in a gesture of secrecy and a wink, she shoved the deadly concoction at him, fervently hoping he knew how to actually use it, she'd kinda spaced out when Hal had told her how it worked. "Also I really hope you have a plan 'cuz Lizzy didn't and Hal says I'm bad at stratageries."

For the moment their seemed to be a break. NO more soldiers popped around the corner with blades ready and spears aiming to pierce their throats. A sound of chaos roared over the city as fighting seemed to be taking place all around them. Orcleous looked to the sky for a moment as he heard the noise. He was not completely sure what had happen, but he was sure people were fighting. He did not know who or the reason, but he was sure this was taking the pressure off them. "It seems like the goddess of luck is smiling down on us", spoke Orcleous. As soon as the mercenary finished speaking their team's own little goddess came running up to him. Well to be truthful she was more like a psychopathic murder with a talent for magic than a goddess, but goddess sounds better.
She began to barrage the mercenary with a mountain of questions and comments. It was a bit difficult to figure out what exactly she was saying. The adrenalin pumping through his veins made it hard to hear words. Still the question about the blood covering his body was clear enough. The mercenary stopped for a moment and looked over himself. A lot of the blood was his and a good portion of it was the enemy. Orcleous had no idea that he was covered with so much of it. He was simply on attack mode for a while. He just attacked everything that moved and got in his path. "I think the blood is about half and half", spoke Orcleous looking at the wild mage. She had mumbled something about Hal and a vulneary. Orcleous could use that.
"Thanks, but I don't need all of it", spoke Orcleous as he took the vulneary out of the young girls hand. Orcleous took a third of it and applied it to his arm. He really needed to get some medical attention to the burn created from that mages light attack. With that handled he handed the concoction back to the young maiden. Taking a healing item from a young girl and using it all for yourself was, well ill looked upon.
Now onto tactics thought the mercenary as he began to look around. "Actually from the sound of things and the break we just received I would bet their is another force in the area", spoke Orcleous. "I don't know where they come from or if they are on our side, but the entire area seems to be filed with fighting. Can't you hear the screams of agony and the sound of war", asked Orcleous as if it was common place. "I don't know what is going on, but it is probably best we get out into a main street to have a clear look. If it is bandits we might have to flee, if its the army we probably still have to run, but their is a good chance we won't."
With those words said Orcleous pulled his massive silver sword off the ground and slung it over his shoulder. Some of his small wounds were still slightly bleeding, but the blood would stop flowing quickly. What was more important was that Orc was able to catch a breather. Still he was not sure what was going on in the city. Hopefully it was salvation.
"Oh by the way you were pretty cool out their with your magic", spoke Orcleous to Elesia. "One of these days your going to have to teach me how to use the stuff. Magic seems to be a useful tool", spoke the mercenary as he began to move toward the main street.
