Harold smiled to himself as he kept cutting trough the field with his scythe, his grandson behind him picking up everything he had cut down. It was taxing work, but in the end it did good for them both. He wiped some sweat from his forehead as he stared up into the sky as they finished up the current row as the sun shined high. He turned his head to his grandson, Artyom, as he then held out the scythe to him. "Be a good lad an' handle the gatherin' fer me, ay'? I need sum' rest, these ol' bones are a bit tired."
The young man laughed, nodding to him before returning to work. Artyom was around fifteen years of age already. He grew up so fast compared to his sister, who even at the age of 14 still looked like she was ten or younger. He had chuckled a million times by now at her antics of trying to practice being a fairer maiden, but failing at it due to her very small frame. She'd find her own husband with time, but he had expressed his wishes to her parents and his son about letting her age a bit more.
He had done the mistake of marrying his own daughter out while she was still young, and it had robbed her of much experience. He proceeded to throw away those grim thoughts as he begun to stroll towards the town. Their farm was close to the town, so it did not take much time before he had reached the town already. It was a bit quiet today, but still active enough for him to greet a few passerby's he knew as he then stopped at the well, stepping in line to wait for his chance to enjoy some fresh water.
It was a beautiful day.

Aeos walked along a dirt path which lead into an unknown town. His hood up over his head to shield his eyes and face from the sunlight. A fresh breeze pressed against his face. It felt refreshing, as the cool air made contact with the tiny bits of sweat upon his brow. He read the wind almost instinctively. The breeze spoke to him little in hushed little whispers the promise of good weather.
He paused for a moment. If his perception of the breeze was correct, the day would remain sweet like peach's nectar. With the sun beaming down, giving all things a familiar fuzzy but warm glow. The tall man had made his way past a farm, where he spied two men working hard and tilling the soil. He envied them a little. His homeland of Nabata had nearly no fertile land to grow proper crops. Instead the people relied on other means to obtain food, such as hunting, or for those living by the coast fishing.
He sighed softly. Pushing away all thoughts of home behind him. But he admit at times it was difficult. One does not spend centuries living with his parents, rooted to one place with out growing fond of it. He needed to observe and cherish this bright new world beyond the desert sands.
He continued along the path into the town. Upon entering he couldn't help but look around. He saw no signs of a pub or inn near him. Perhaps it be at the other end. I should ask. He thought. But what he could make out was a small line that lead to somewhere. An older looking gentleman had stepped up to take his place in line. Aeos approached the sir and asked,
"Ahoy, there good sir. Prithee, may thou tell me if ther be a Inn in this village?"
Ah there it is. My old tounge. Aeos had only been in the "outside world" as he called it for a short time. And his speech pattern was slightly off when compared to the plain speak of others. Twas a strange mix of old English, vernacular, and sailor's speak. He silently prayed that that would not offend.

Freedom is sweet, thought Bee as she walked down the road. The air was cool and the day was long. She could feel the cool air flowing past her ears and tugging on her box hair style. As the maiden walked down the road she saw a farm. It was lovely, covered in grains and had the look of serenity. She paused for a moment as she watched a young lad run across a field. She paused for a moment wondering if that could have been her if the incident did not happen. Then her mind wondered to more darker places.
As the maiden looked out over the field she imagined fire. The fire spread from one plant to another as the cool evening wind swirled around the raging heat of the flames. A twinkle appeared in her eye as she imagined a blazing tornado swirling around burning all in its path. Bees and other small creatures scrambled to get out of the world winds path, but were too slow and were consumed by the fire.
"Such a beautiful sight", she spoke to herself as she looked down at her hand. With a flick of her risk the whole field could go up in flames. However she was sure the farmers and the villagers would not appreciate that. Burning all there hard work for her own cynical pleasure was a terrible deed. It also would attract the anger of the farmers who pitch fork and shovel would probably be her end. Cause and effect, action and reaction, the maiden closed her hand and turned her attention back to the road. The pleasure of seeing a splendid flame was not equal to her life. Besides causing chaos would only let him find her that much sooner.
Right now he was probably searching the sands of Nabata wondering if his little prize had run home. He would never have guessed she was in Lycia. Lycia was a nice place. Sure there were rumors of horrible beast and abominations running around, but that just made it easier for her to hide and easier for her to find something to burn. Nobody cared if she burned a walking corpse or a raging beast. In fact they would thank her. She would not only get to see a splendid flame, but also the admiration of the people around her. "Yep both is better", spoke the maiden as she skipped into town. It had been a long time since she had skipped.

He raised his eyebrow a bit at the strange voice that came from behind him as he turned around, taking a step away from the line so that he would not be blocking it during the discussion. He deemed the stranger to be a bit... Strange? It was a bit rude to think so, but he definitely looked like someone who wasn't from Lycia, or even something such as Bern. And he spoke in a strange manner, in a way he had never heard. He barely controlled himself from taking a hostile frown at the offlander as he shrugged a bit.
"Eh, there's that there pub, th' Seedy Tankard..." He jerked his thumb to the left. "But 's only open for the night, ya see. Most of th' people prefer tae come here to the well when they need sum' water, ya see." He nodded once as he jerked his thumb to the line that was next to him. "Best way t' see friends and family, and argue up sum' marriages and discuss the coming harvests and feasts." He was very suspicious if the stranger even knew how to hold a pitchfork right. Or if he know how to arrange the best marriages for one's daughter.
"If ya need sum' place to stay, people usually let people stay up at their homes if yer work for 'em hard or pay for 'em." He nodded once more to the man as he then turned around to join the line to the well.

He paused to mull over the old man's words. There was a tavern of sorts called the Seedy Tanktard. But well from the sounds of it, was quite seedy. And secondly it seemed that this was the line for the well. It would be wise to refill your canteen with fresh water. now. Nabatan life styles were hard to push away. Especially when it came to things like fresh water. He thought for a moment on what to say next. But the man had already returned to his post on the line. He tapped the man lightly on the shoulder once more.
"Dost thou know of anyone in need of labor? Mayhaps I can ask them a room for the night, in exchange for work." He once again asked a question in a calm and polite tone.
"Twould be easier on my spirits then... staying at the place of seeds. Though I may not look like much, I be a fast study." It was a bit of a stretch but perhaps the sir knew of someone. Farm work is not my strong trait. But I am willing to learn. He patiently waited if the man would point him out to someone who might need a helper of some kind. Aeos knew his way around the house, he could cook, clean, and repair things if needed. He could also do some minor ship labor but there seemed to be no sea nearby. With out the sea there would be no ships.

Bee had made her way into the town. It was, well, not as on fire as she thought it would be. There were very few people around and from what she could see it was probably a dead town. Still she could probably find some coin around here somewhere. People always needed things to be done and she was sure there was going to be a need for a fire mage somewhere. At the very least she could cook, which was a plus. Cooking skills had brought her this far and she was pretty sure it would probably be paying for her room tonight.
By pure accident Bee had overheard the conversation between two men. She was not paying much attention to them at first, but the words only open for the night. "Hold on a second", shouted Bee stopping on her merry way. The maiden turned and made her way up to the old man and the other fella who looked familiar. From the look of the old man she guess he was what, maybe 80, 90 at the most and the other guy probably came from Nabata. All Nabatans always had that look about them. Even though she had not been in her homeland for years she still remembered that look. It was the one thing that she found odd about the outside world.
"Did you just say there was no tavern to sleep in", shouted Bee! She was outside, so she was using her outside voice, but it was still far too loud. "If there is no tavern then where am I suppose to sleep! If there is no tavern then where am I suppose to work! Is there some place a traveler may lay there head and dream of splendid flames and butterflies! Surely this town has some sleeping arrangements that a traveler could use to rest there heads!"

Was it the harvest gods punishing him? He did remember praying to them each and every night, and he did always sacrifice one loaf of bread to the greatmother each summer night. The man was not that bad. He just spoke in a weird way and was taking some of his time. All fellers needed some help at some points in their lives, and he just wanted to be of a good help. It was the girl that was already popping a vein or two in his head, and he was known for being a very patient man. Dread took a hold of him.
Was it bad to considering her annoying by now? It was a new record for him. He had met his fair share of annoying people. The old hags around the well, his first nanny around the time he was still young, his wife... They were all annoying on different levels. But while the old hags were tolerable, while the nanny was dead by now, and while he had already learned to love his wife more than anything else in this world... She just kinda instantly broke into him as this embodiment. Maybe it was fer face.
Or her voice, he found that pretty annoying too. Loud, too loud. Very rude. And what was that about fire? Fire was bad, it ruined the crops and could kill ya. And while other things ya could control, fire was just something ya would never even try ta control. He bit his lip as he just turned his head to the man, ignoring the girl with the best of his ability. "Try th' Saldean farm, they have some problems with that them house."

"Very well good sir. I shall try my fortune at the Saldean Farm. One final question to thee before I leave. Where would that farm be?" He asked once again in his polite and usual tone. Then he turned his attention to the new comer. A little lady, with pink hair, and an uncommon hair cut. Then again everyone was little when compared to his tall stature. And although the maiden with pink hair had been quite loud and rude he extended the same polite and courtesy he does to all people.
"To answer thy questions in order young lady.. there be no tavern but there be a pub. Open at night it seems. Called the Seedy Tanktard. If thou be willing young lady to find work among them, thou must wait till nightfall. In the mean time, I be heading off to this farm the kind sir hast pointed out. You are welcome to join me. Mayhaps you can trade a day oft labor for a place of rest and try another village in the morn."
He knew not where this girl hailed from. And knew nothing of her skills, but still kind soul in him wouldn't feel comfortable if he at least tried to assist in some format.
"Worst case be'th, we being struck out and forced to camp out by the road for the night. Which not be so bad." After spending a large chunk of his life wandering through the desert as a nomad, Aeos was very accustomed to sleeping out under the stars.

"So there is no inn", she spoke as the fire and excitement faded from her eyes. Bee did not want to sleep outside. Sure she would have the great enjoyment of starting a fire, but then she would have to worry about it burning to bright or catching something else on fire, which was cool in all, but ultimately bad. It seemed her only hope of lodging for the night would be to work with this man, or maybe somebody else in the village. Though she doubted that anybody would be that kind. People were naturally selfish and greedy. Why would they let somebody who was also naturally selfish and greedy stay in there home. The ideas was a bit ludicrous to her, but if this is how the people around her worked the she would not complain, but she would sleep with a hand on her tome. Who knows what they really might want from her. "My fire", she whispered to herself as she clinched her tome in her pocket.
"Thank you", she spoke as she looked up at Aeros. "I guess us Nabatan's have to stick together right. Oh, and by the way my name is Bee. Bee spelled B E E. Not simply B E, but B E E. Just like the insect. Still I find it strange that the village does not have a inn. Almost every village has a inn. Even the ones in Nabata seem to have inns. Inns are like the staple of civilization or the standard of every town, but not this one thought. Hmm, I guess that it is not the standard now is it. Maybe a simple recommendation or something you would expect. I guess it is something one would call out in the boonies or in the middle of nowhere. Still I hope they have tea at the farm. I hate drinking boiled water. It is not as tasteful."

What the heck was a name like bee? He raised his eyebrow at that, locking his ears from the incoming barrage of words as he thought about the name for a moment. Bee. Bees were kinda nice, except when they stung ya. He had tasted some honey back at the Saldean farm when he was younger and when they still handled growing bees and selling honey. Although the little buggers were also a good defense, or so he had been told by old man Saldean, the earthmother bless his soul. Apparently you need to break the nest and they charge out.
He proceeded to then completely ignore all the speech she had blurted out as he turned his head lazily to the taller man. At the very least he was not that annoying and just simply spoke on a manner he'd think even a lordling would find strange. He jerked his thumb at the general direction. "Jus' go right 'bout that there way and tell 'em that Harold sent ya." He nodded to him with a smile. He had always been doing good with the Saldeans. They were like his cousins by now, and the family had mixed a few times.
He then quickly stepped forwards in the line. He was getting further away from the babbler; everything was good. A few more minutes and he reached the well as he then nodded to the wellkeeper. Soon enough he held a canteen full of water as he took a long sip from it.

The elder sir with the long beard pointed Aeos out into the direction of the Saldean family farm. And to mention that Harold, he assumed that was the man's name, had sent them.
"Thank you sir Harold. And my apologies for taking up thy time." Aeos gave a small bow as a sign of respect. He watched a bit as the man walked off to grab his cool drink at the well. He returned his attention back at the small pink haired figure along side him.
"Oh Bee? Thou a Nabatan too? That is nice. And thy name is quite exotic. I imagine when thy parents picked it for thee they imagined what a strong, diligent, loyal, worker thou would'st grow up to be." He smiled softly. He offered his hand out to the young lady as a formality to his greeting.
"Well met, Bee. I am called Aeos. Named after the ancient spirit king oft the winds, at least that is what my parents hath told me."After the exchange Aeos looked out into the direction of where the farm is located. The village was quite small and slightly isolated. He could understand why the villagers wouldn't have a inn all the way out here. Though the area itself was quite plesant, there wasn't much in the means to draw in tourists. No holy relic for those to gawk at, no tradesman route, no arena, no nothing. He supposed that that was part of this village's charm.
"Little lady Bee, shall we head for this farm? So, from what part oft Nabata thou be from?" He spoke casually as he began walking.

"My name", spoke Bee as she put her index finger on her mouth. She had never really thought much about why her parents named her Bee. "Well to be trutful I have no idea why they picked it. I always thought that maybe there was a Bee in the area after I was born or if my father really missed the Bees from his travels. There were no Bees near the vilalge though, so I guess the first one can be thrown out, but then again if a Bee suddenly showed up and I was born that would be a good reason to name me Bee. You know the whole symbolic and symbolism thing. Aeos seems a lot cooler than Bee. I mean your named after a ancient king. Why do I have to be named after a stupid bug that flies around and stings people", pouted the young girl as she continued her rant. "Why cold my parents not name me something elegant like Ruth, or Ruby. Shoot Red would be a far more interesting name than Bee. Oh well! Maybe your theory about my name and me being a little worker is right. My mother did like to keep me around the forge and show me the beautiful", she spoke placing a great emphasis on the word, flames. Did you know if you smelt copper the color of the fire will change. It is so mystical and lovely."
As Bee finally calmed down and took a breath she began to follow behind Aeos. "Well I am from a village near the sea", she spoke once again placing her index finger on her mouth. "So western or maybe eastern Nabata. To be truthful I no longer have a idea. After the incident I had not returned there in about eight years or so. The creepy old shaman dude never told me where I came from either so I have no real idea how to get back there. Thought I am sure once I ask around about port towns I could easily find the place. Well maybe not anymore. I wonder if they have rebuild or just simply left the city as a marker. That would be interesting to investigate maybe a few years down the road. So Mr. Aeos, what part of Nabata are you from? Maybe the norther edges or the southern edges. Oh! Maybe you are some kind of mystic or something and probably lived in the center! I always wondered what was in the center of the great desert! I have heard tells of a great sand storm and heat that could set your clothing on fire, but never about what was actually in the center!

"Mrhm." He nodded to Aeos from the well as he then silently groaned to himself. He was far away from the chatterbox, yet her voice was loud enough for him to hear all the way from wherever she was. Thankfully, as they begun to walk away, he could relax a bit. He hoped and prayed to the earthmother that he would never have to see her again. Or well, that might have been a bit too harsh on the girl. He wished to just never hear her again. Seeing her was fine, but if she just spoke as much and as loudly...
Oh well, she wouldn't be of trouble now that she was gone with the taller person. Both seemed pretty strange, now that everything was considered. One was a tall person who just... Smelled weird to him, and spoke like someone who was constipated and at the same time very, very old. Older than him by about a few hundred years, maybe? If he could count to a hundred, that is. Very old is what he reigned in at. But at the same time, he looked pretty young. Younger than he himself was, at the very least. Mysterious indeed.
He hopped off from the well to let the next in line take over as he begun to stroll back towards the farm. He waved his hand in greetings to one of the village priests before then returning to walking. He'd have a lot of work to do, indeed. A lot.

OOC- Looks like were on our own. ---
As Aeos walked he heard everything Bee had to say. He didn't mean to upset the plucky young lady when he spoke about potential meanings behind names.
"I'm sorry Bee. I did not mean to upset thee. Like I said my name might have't been from an old king. Rumored that it was one from a time before the 8 heroes. But history record keeping is not humanity's strong suit. If most men barely recall childhood, how are we to trust the records written by men? Doth that make sense?" He asked.
"Thou shouldn't be angry at thy name. Getting upset at it, draws others to poke fun at it. Causes a cycle of bad emotions which leads to suffering. Instead you should be like Bees. Yellow, the color of brightness, joy, and warmth. Also a color of warning in the animal world. Mess with a creature of yellow hues, and it will come back to bite you." In his head he knew of several animals and plants that advertise poison or stings with yellow colors. He did his best to try and console the girl in his own strange way. He paused for a moment down the road to get his bearings. The farm was close by judging by fence next to him and the nearly arranged crops within it's border.
"Hmm.. Well I was born in a small village near the Nabatan Lycian border. Parents were nomads. We moved mostly to the area where the mountain meets the sea. The southern side I believe. Being close to the sea we lived oft it's bounty. Parents cameth fromth the desert. According to them, life there difficult but tolerable. Cloth doth not com-bust under sunlight. Sandstorms are a normal part of desert life so they told me. After my birth, they agreed to keep away from the sea of sand. Oh, and no I did not know that about fire. But ave seen shamans and medicine men who pour colored sands over fire to make it rise. Doth seem to have quite an interest in manners oft the flame. Mayhaps thy future lies in a smithery or a bakery." He stopped for a moment and saw a small wooden house poking out through the greenery of crops.
"Ah, that looks like the farm house. Hopefully it is the right farm."

"Wait I am not mad, maybe a bit upset, but not mad at my name. I was really jut thinking, and talking. Thinking and talking at the same time. Though thinking and talking are pretty much the same thing, but one is done in your head and the other is done outloud. However I will say that I have never thought of Bees in that light. I know a few people who are seriously allergic to them. The moment somebody mention my name they practically jumped with fear. So I guess that could be a reason to actually like my name. It brings fear into the hearts of those who fear bees and brightens the day of those who like to eat honey. Though honey is far too sweet for me.Don't tell anybody but I am more of a plant girl myself, but don't get it twisted I ain't no vegan. Or was it called Vigan, or Sayian, whatever they call them. I eat meat just like everybody else."
As the duo meditated on the farm Bee meditated on Aeos words about the dessert. It had been so long since she had been in Nabata. She wanted to go back there, but she knew he would be waiting for her. He knew how Bee thought and knew that Bee would want to go to Nabata. As a result of the fact that Bee knew that he knew her she decided the best thing to do was to do the things she really did not want to do. Thus she ended up here in Lycia. Nobody wants to be in lycia at the moment. Too many monsters, too many troubles.
"Oh so we are here", spoke Bee as she looked up and saw the farm Aeors seemed worried that it might be the wrong place so Bee decided that the best way to solve this was the simplest way to solve it. "HELLOW IS THIS SALDEAN FARM!", she shouted at the top of her lungs! "IF SO WE WOULD LIKE TO FIND WORK AND POSSIBLE A PLACE TO STAY FOR THE NIGHT! HELLO!"
