LIv was honestly surprised that Ixe-pie had no idea what a pinky swear meant. It must have meant that she had a difficult childhood to not know of the ritual. What was the best way to explain it to the woman without frightening her by the intricacies of the pinky swear. It was a deadly topic to approach if one was not careful. Pinky swears have broken many lives and friendships for the young.
"Well," she began, her tone changing from playful to a very serious one, she even went and steeped her fingers together,"pinky swear is a promise, but a very important promise. So if the promise it ever broken, horrible things will happen, lives crumble, magic dies, the dead will rise!" She tried to keep the tone serious, but it soon became rather comical and dramatic. This was the best way to describe it though, as seen through the eyes of a child.
It wasn't until the woman began to dance that she became relatively tame again. So she was a survivalist of some sort as well as a dancer. They way she moved gave off a sense of experience and even Liv can tell she was amazing at it. She had seen people dance before, but never like the way woman had. She had even seen women who were considered professional, but they didn't move with the same grace or skills. It was honestly very beautiful in her eyes and she became entranced. It was to no surprise that when she stopped that Liv, reached her hands above her head and made a series of light claps.
"Wow that's so pretty!"

Ixenmi inclined an eyebrow, cocking it upwards as the girl explained in such a reverse tone to her atypical almost outrageously jovial mannerism. What ever the motion had been, it was clear that this girl held it in high regard. So she thought atleast, until the girl burst into a fit of giggles. A pinky swear? So it was some form of pact, was it? The girl's facade breaking as she tried and failed to explain it in a more serious mannerism meant that it was quite obvious Ixenmi was going to at some point probably be pestered or badgered into taking her out on said journey. Though she hardly doubted she would be at risk of causing lives to crumble, magic to die or dead to rise.
However when Liv reacted to her dancing with such actions as clapping, Ixenmi shook her head a bit in protest. She extended a hand to pat the child's head; thin fingers combing her hair lightly before ruffling it as the woman chuckled. The motion had been a simple one, merely well practiced. The Manakete's tone expressed a simple statement, as if no more than explaining the weather. "It is nothing outstanding small one. Merely a motion that has seen much practice. Anyone could perform it if they focused on doing just that."
Ixenmi speculated if she mentioned anyone, this girl would attempt it as well. It would most likely result in her falling unto the sand again. This time she tilted her head as she lifted her hand from the girl's head before placing it on her right hip with her other arm hanging by her side. She looked at the girl briefly before speaking again. "If you practiced it's something you could master as well. Then it would be others clapping for you and exclaiming about how pretty it looks, so you too could tell them it's just something you've practiced. "

Liv thought about what Ixe-pie had said and quite frankly took it to heart. She wasn't sure she wanted to be a dancer like her though, but she would like people praising her, especially if her sister was the one that was proud. She had been practicing magic quite a bit for awhile now, but there had been little to no sign of improvement. She doubted it was a matter of talent. Sure there were talented people, but seeing Ixe-pie dance like that, she believed that talent can be overcome by practice. Well at least that was what she took it for.
"Okay, I'm gonna work even harder on my magic too," she cheered, raising her arms victoriously up into the air. Talking about practice made her want to do it that moment, so she did. She concentrated the best she could, which wasn't much, and began to feel for the spirit. The air around her cracked and became even more heated than before. It was difficult and the feeling was still as vague as ever. When she thought she got it, she tried to grasp it with her own energy, only to have it slip though her fingers. What resulted was a series of sparks in the air around her, that soon died and sputtered to death. She let out a gasp of breath and a sigh from the strain it felt.
"Well maybe next time right?" she spoke cheerfully as the air around her soon returned to normal. Magic practice was exhausting, but she never did give up, no matter how bad the results or lack thereof.

Ixenmi's emerald eyes lingered upon the small girl as she exclaimed about her magic and thrust her arms unto the air. She shifted her pose by adjusting the weight to her other foot and leaning with that leg as the girl attempted to perform..something? Some sort of spell perhaps. As the air heated up Ixenmi could only assume she was going to try conjuring fire. However it seemed wink out of existence just as it had come in. It was plain to tell that the girl still had much practice to reign in under her belt if she wanted to conjure a flame. Much less the actual other in depth magics of nature. However it was good to see that the small child was not deterred. Ixenmi thought to herself for a moment, arms still crossed under her chest as she looked to the little human mage for a moment. Did she bother saying anything? Perhaps a question would be better. Ixenmi wasn't used to the pleasantries of conversation with small humans about things they tried to perform but failed.
The last time she had spoken in full to a human child..how long had it been? She had lost track of the years. Maybe forty? No...longer than that. Sixty maybe. She couldn't be too sure. However she would give it a shot. She was a tad rusty but she thought she could pull it off. "Maybe little liv. Keep in mind that once you learn fire, there's so much more. The ability to generate swirling tornadoes of Ice that explode into shards. Conjuring gigantic beam like bursts of lightning that can smolder buildings, summoning blades of wind to cut your foes down; even massive plumes of fire and the like. This is but one step you must first master little one."
That would do wouldn't it? She hoped so. She was a bit..out of practice, indeed. Stepping forwards again with her arms still crossed Ixenmi moved further towards the town speaking back to the child. "Is your sister able to perform magic? Perhaps she could help instruct you further."
