Ephraim tossed and turned uncomfortably in his sleep. He was done for. He was on his way to the one place he never wished to be, Bergandine, as Bonnie’s crew called it: The prison for all the worst criminals in Elibe. He tried to ignore the bumpy road that the caged cart crossed but he could not. He sat up and looked at the other men around him. Three of them. They all wore the same brown burlap bags and were robbed of all their possessions. Ephraim’s hair now hung loose and free. He sighed.
“SO! What got all of you here?” He smiled trying to look as friendly and upbeat as possible. “I myself got here because I kidnapped the royal daughter of ETRURIA!” He felt he might as well say it aloud, who would believe him? He looked at the guard leading the prison convoy but they paid him no mind. None whatsoever. “Oh well, it can’t be too bad here right? At least we all have each other.” Now he was starting to be sarcastic. “And a whole host of caring guards to watch over us and feed us. Maybe they’ll even give a fair one on one boxing match a few times a week.” Belligerence has its limits and a guard was getting annoyed now.
“Why don’t you shut up back there already!? You worthless filth! You’ll be whimpering within a week, all the ‘strong willed’ ones break the most satisfyingly.” The second guard slapped the first’s arm and glared. “No talking to the prisoners, you know this.”
Ephraim smirked cockily. “So, I’m Ephraim, how about you lot?”
