Her travel had been difficult and not without troubles. Blisters plagued her feet and she had almost ran out of her supplies, yet this was the pain all saints had faced in their time. She would be no different! She should feel honor and even power at the chance to emulate them, bless their souls. With a light heart but a heavy step she finally had made her way to the trading town of Andante. Some say it had been named after a famous musician of the sorts, but the only music that tugget at her heart were the romantic ballads of legend or the church hymns echoing in Etruria.
She had been absolutely charmed by the town's atmosphere. Everyone knew each other, all were friends or at the very least cordial around each other, she had managed to get herself a room in the tavern for as long as she wished thanks to her pilgrim status, and she had even met a few interesting fellows on the way... And oh, the feeling, the feeling of being so in love with something so common as life. It all had charmed her so, but by now she realized she'd have to leave.
But... She did not want to. Was this the saint sending thoughts to her head? A trial to test her will and faith? And what would old Bishop Farlan say back home if he ever knew? She had been away for so long. Weeks? Maybe months even. Her faith hadn't come to question, but rather... Her goals. This whole pilgrimage was to teach her earthly suffering and how the saints stepped the earth, and how she would follow in their footsteps. Maybe this WAS one of the trials. Maybe other pilgrims had also felt such a longing to stay somewhere else but home?
She found herself praying at the town church as she pondered on what she should do.

Bee was not pleased. when her master told her she had to make a delivery to Andante Bee was happy to jump on the opportunity. However after she arrived the wanderlust soon faded. Everyone in the town was... well weird. They all knew each other and seemed to get along quite well. The very notion creeped Bee out a bit. They were to nice. To nice for her taste. If there was one thing Bee learned from being on the road was that people who came off as super nice where the ones you needed to keep a close eye on. This town was no different. Everything felt off. To make things worse Bee had to deal with all the stares. She could not go two steps without having somebody looking at her. If it was not her hair style it was her clothing. If it was not her clothing then it was the fact that she was a outside. Bee loved attention, but in this place she got to much.
"Finally some peace", spoke Bee as she marched her way into the church. It was the only place in town that she could be free of the prying eyes. No one came into the church in the middle of the day so Bee had little to worry about. Well she thought that nobody came. There was another girl in the church. She was down on her knees preying like a good saint and asking for something. To be truthful Bee could care less. She was not majorly religious. She believed in science, chemistry, magic, and whatever force that directed the universe. Bee was not sure what it name was, but she knew that there was something controlling the world.
"Man this place is boring", spoke Bee as she looked around the building. She was starting to regret her choice for coming into this place.

Someone had entered the church. Her prayer only stopped for a second before she returned to her mumbling, eyes firmly closed. She could check up on the newcomer once she was done... Or perhaps it had been father Macklemore, the local priest. The jolly man was oft found in the town's only pub drinking away with the local men. He had claimed it as a way to connect with them to try and root away their sins, but even Miriam was not naive enough to believe in such. The man was but a drunkard, although a drunkard who could read and pray.
The newcomer speaking ruined the illusion of it being father Macklemore, except if he had somehow turned into a maiden of a young age, and Miriam was doubting such a miracle blessing him. She still finished her prayer like a good pilgrim and stood up, dusting her robes. Her head turned to stare at the other... A youngish girl. Maybe her age? A bit older or younger, but not noticeable so. Flowing short hair, although her facial features could be a bit strange. Oh well, the saint didn't judge people by their looks, so she would not either.
A faint smile appeared on her face as she raised her hand into a wave. "Greetings! Are you here for the prayer sermon? I'm sad to announce that father Macklemore's not present at the moment, but I can try and hold one for you if you need one." She nodded, still holding that smile.

"Prayer", spoke Bee as she looked at the young girl. To her surprise she was the same age she was. What in the world was she doing in this boring place during this time. Bee was sure she was not a outside like her and her clothing seemed to match everyone's style here. There was no way she was in here trying to avoid the preying eyes so Bee could only assume that she was some kind of priest, or rather priestess. Bee had never meet a priestess. Well she just meet one now thought she did not seem special. The way Guro use to describe priestess was more like mystical women who shot bow and arrows and channeled holy magic. She did not seem anything like that so Bee only could assume that Guro was pulling her leg. He was a jerk like that.
"No I am just here trying to get away from all the prying eyes", spoke Bee as she turned and looked at the door with disgust. "Everyone here seems nice enough, but they have a strange stare that gives me the creeps. Probably because of my hair", spoke Bee as she made sure it was nice and straight. she then turned back to the priestess. "Hey you don't mind me asking you a question do you. Is it true that you all use bows and can fire holy arrows that can seal away evil. A guy I knew a long time ago told me that priestess had that kind of power, but from the look of you. Well... Well my mother said to never judge a book by its cover so I will put that behind me. So is it true that you all have holy magic and use bow and arrows", asked Bee as she looked at the young maiden.

Well, this girl was surely something! Miriam had to stop herself from releasing a little giggle by the end of the other's rather confusing question. Priestesses wielding bows and holy magic? Even the saint did not do such things during the time she had been alive! Where had she gotten such silly ideas about how servants of god acted? Most of the priestesses she had known during her time in Etruria had all been refined and silent ladies willingly serving under the word of the saint's guiding light, and no mention of these warrior women had been mentioned before.
Yet, it did sound so... Adventurous. A warrior woman dedicated to the serving of the saint, handling her will with pointed arrows of love and justice! Oh, the thought could almost make her poor heart melt with excitement. But! She had to keep herself calm and collected in a temple of god. She quickly shook her head and let out a gentle laugh that almost betrayed her young age. "No, no... I've never heard of priestesses who do such things, at the very least! I could very well be wrong, after all... I am not a priestess yet. I am but a pilgrim, walking the world the saint worked so hard to save."
She laughed again at that, although she did feel a bit of contempt at having to deny a status of power. But this was but a new trial by the saint... The trial of lies. Be truthful, and others shall be too.

"Great so it is not true", spoke Bee as she let out a long sigh. She was hoping that it was. She wanted to see a holy arrow. Well you can't trust the bed time stories of your youth. Still it did raise a new question. Bee always woundered what in the world did they actually do. From the way the women was talking they all sat around preyed and song songs. That sounds boring. None of them had any adventures. None of them went out and smite evil. Shoot Lycia was filled with the undead and unholy monsters, but not a single priest was to be found. What in the world was the church doing. Well if you look at Eturia as the example then you can say they where walling everyone else out and simply watching them all burn.
"So you all don't have holy arrows and you all don't hunt down monsters. So what do you all do then", asked Bee as she looked at the young girl. She could guess what they did , she already did that before, but she would rather hear it from that girl's mouth. Better safe than sorry. "By the way what is the church stance on the undead and monsters roaming the land", asked Bee as she threw in her curve ball. The maiden was sure she would get a interesting answer from this one. She wondered if the maiden would mention that monsters did not start coming out till they burned Ostia to the ground or that the church, and there mighty nation, was not doing anything to stop it. More monsters patrolled these lands than bandits, and that was saying something.
Bee looked closely at her face. She did not want to miss a single twitch or change in facial expression. She wanted to see how she would react. She wanted to know what she thought. Your face always gave clues to your actual thoughts. It may be a small twitch or a mini frown, but Bee wanted to know.

"We might not fire holy arrows and we might not go out to try and slay the monsters that roam some parts of Lycia, blessed be the souls lost there..." She quickly whispered a little prayer before continuing her speech, her whole facial structure still keeping mostly the gentle look it had had before. "The church is not an armed force, after all. We have priests and bishops and some workers who work to craft art worthy of the gods, but our fighting force is nowhere near big or experienced enough to go and try to cleanse a whole land...
And our leader Kraft's army has bigger things to worry about, yes? The army has to worry about things like the internal order of our country, and we also do have an apparent bandit problem, or so I have heard..." She sighed a bit sadly at the end. She was not stupid. Even she knew that some of the things that had been told to her had been lies, but she could not question the faith or Kraft, not if she wanted to preserve her life. Besides, it all might have been true. She needed proof before she would go about questioning things she had been told for her whole life.
"As for the stance of the church on the monsters... They are deplorable creatures, despised even. Something that should be wiped out, and we all would be happy if they were destroyed. But we do not have the resources to stage a full on war against the dead as of now."

So there excuse was the lack of resources, thought Bee as she looked at the priestess to be. That sounded fake to her. I mean Eturia did build a gigantic wall to separate them from everyone else. If that was not a sign of plenty of resources Bee did not know what was. Not to mention that the monsters only appeared after they burned Ostia to the ground. Now that was something to think about. Still she was sure that this pilgram was not responsible for this. She was just a bottom feeder on the pile of crap that was the church. Well calling her a bottom feeder was little mean. She had done nothing wrong and was only telling what she knew. She was more like a pawn. Yeah that fit better.
"Personally I never truly understood this place", spoke Bee as she began to look around at the building. "I never understood the great Saint or her new prophet. It all just did not make any sense to me. It was so confusing and stuff. For example what is the end game of the church. Lets say everyone turns to Emilia or umm", Bee paused for a moment as she tried to remember the name of the holy saint. "Elimine, there we go. Lets just say everyone turns toward the light of the saint Elimine? Well what is that light? What is the purpose of it? What happens once everyone turns to it? Why do we need to turn to it? I hear the phrase every time I walk by a church but nobody explains it", spoke Bee as she conjured up a bit of flames.
"Magic however is different. It is easy to understand, easy to control and easily conjured. I can explain it to you in a single sentence and you will get the basics of it." As Bee finished speaking she closed her fist killing the fire and then turned back to the young priestess. "So to make everything nice and sweet and simple. What is the purpose of the prayer", spoke Bee as she looked at the maiden.

Bee had enough of it. She was bothering the young priestess enough. It was strange really. Bee hated being bothered by the people in the town and now she was turning around and doing it to the young priestess. Bee really needed to watch herself for hypocrisy. She did not want to be come a full blown hypocrite. "Never mind", spoke Bee as she placed her hands around the back of her head. "Forget I ever said anything. Consider it the insane rambling of a young girl with too much time on her hand. ... still the next time we meet, and I am sure it will happen gain, I will join you in prayer, alright", spoke Bee as she gave off a smile and walked out the church. It was not often that Bee had a feeling that she would meet somebody gain, thought she was not sure about the circumstances, but she felt that about the young maiden. There was a bit of fate mixed in with there encounter. That or Bee was so bored that she was making every day life events seems special. who knows really, thought Bee to herself.
As the young maiden left the church and moved back into the streets she could feel the eyes being drawn back onto her again. "Yep nothing changed", spoke Bee as she began to walk away. She was not going to stay in this town long. Maybe she could go and find some place to practice her magic. Bee needed to improve her spell craft. You never know what the future holds. Bee's magical power may be needed one day. If she allowed herself to slack off now she could doom the world! "Maybe I will hunt down some undead", spoke Bee as she began to contemplate potential practice dummies.
