Vincent had to decide between sleeping with his cloak as a blanket over his body to protect him from the cold, or have it below his body to protect him from the sand. Neither option was ideal to him but he settled on the latter. He decided it was best if he didn't have sand in inconvenient places causing chaffing when they were stranded somewhere unknown. Unfortunately he was left shivering through the night when the fire eventually died down.
The next morning it was time to get to work, the captain of the ship was barking orders and groups were forming to search the area for civilization as well as its own sake. In order to find a port that would mean traversing the beach, he assumed. But with the murmurs of some creature drawing them in Vincent made the decision to join those that would be traveling inland. Noticing the group gathering around Gar the hero jogged up to him. "No telling where we are or what's in there, so I will go with you." Vincent grinned and crossed his arms.
'So what you're saying is you want his protection?'
'No, well not exactly. It's not about being kept safe but until we know what is out here we should assume it will be the worst case scenario, like a dragon or something. So a group is better than alone.'
'A dragon? You think a dragon is out there?'
'No. But you get my point. Besides, dragons are all dead.' Vincent's conversation with Phoenix Heart ended and he turned his attention fully to the path ahead. "This may be presumptuous but if the rumors of singing drawing up aground are true he had better be prepared to find something malicious."

Emil swished the water around in his mouth as a few people began to form their own 'search parties'. Bah, he would have alcohol right about now but he needs to drink healthy to help the healing process. But in other news he was pleased that he didn't have to assign those roles to anybody, they took it upon themselves to group up.
Somebody did bring up a good point, what if there are humans on this island? Having to deal with unknown people wasn't something he's had to do before. Normally the islands he'd land on would have people that was already known to live there, but here? If there are humans there isn't any record of the island other than 'it's dangrous' so that much was unknown. How would they react to a bunch of outsides strollin up on their island? What if they were the reason nobody has made it back alive to tell the tale? Better yet, why was he questioning the possibility of some savages attacking them like a chump?
He swallowed that water with a hard gulp. "If there be any people out there, they show any signs of aggression, kill'em. Then come back here and report to the group, it could very well be an 'us vs them' situation." Could it have been some sort of scout checking out all of the hooting and hollering Emil's group had been doing when they crash landed that he swore he saw, or was it something else? He tried to force that thought out of his mind, all it would do is drive him to paranoia, which was something none of them could afford just yet.
Standing up he stretched a little before he felt pain from his wound. "We got any map makers here?" One person raised their hand. "Good, go with one of the groups and start makin a map. Will do us good here, an I guess you can make a fortune once we make it back to Lycia by sellin it." The idea of making money off of the trip excited the young woman as she quickly went back up the ladder to the ship to gather her supplies.
(Since Emil is staying behind and to keep things moving along just skip me till everyone gets back to the camp site. If you have any questions/ideas of what you can find out there shoot me a PM)

The silver haired hero was the first to join the party, jogging over and offering to help out. Gar replied welcomingly. “Thanks mate, your help is much appreciated.” Gar smiled sociably toward the other people who gathered to form a small exploration party with him. After some time there were about five or six people ready to depart.
“Lets be careful. This is the dread isle after all Hahar.” Gar’s laugh may have been a bit awkward considering what he said before it. Even so, he turned and started heading into the woods. He had a strange type of pep in his step. He was in that middle ground between nervous and excited. “I’ve heard many stories about this place. Some say this is the home of giants. Others speak of great colorful birds never seen on the mainland. Others still speak of terrible dangers, lying in wait to ambush curious explorers.” Gar turned his face to the group. “All I see is trees.” The adventure was surely just beginning.
It didn’t take long before the party encountered the local wildlife. Some birds flew from tree branches. Squirrels, rabbits and other small mammals ran around the brush. Nothing was all that entertaining until the party heard a noise. It was a deep growl. Gar didn’t have much experience with land animals, but the sound gave him pause. “That sounded err… territorial huh?” He looked toward the group. The pirate tried to read their expressions to see what they wanted to do next.

With no orders specifically given to him, Aeos was forced to make a decision for himself. He knew he couldn't just run back on the ship and into his cot. As much as his body really wanted to. He watched Gar and a few others enter the woods to scout. He thought about joining them, but figured the lot of them would be fine. He focused his attention on carefully peeling the hard boiled egg he had in his hands. As he took a bite of the white oval he lamented the lack of salt. Then he remembered he was probably the only one on the boat that actually bothered to do some research back in Lycia about what sort of fauna might be on the island. What sort of plants and animals to avoid. We aren't going to leave Gar out to die out there are we?
Aeos sighed and begrudgingly got up from his seat. The dragon in human guise shoved the rest of the egg in his mouth. He rubbed the sleep from his eyes as best he could and slowly made his way into the wilds. He found it incredibly difficult to keep focus on the recently made trail in front of him. He was exhausted from his night watch. He was on edge due to the island and it's weird atmosphere. And it was starting to take a toll on his mentality. He took a swig of fresh water from his canteen and kept walking until he couldn't. The dragon in human guise took a moment to pull himself off the path for a moment. He took a deep breath in and tried his hardest to relax. He wasn't sure what it was about the air of this place. It felt like it was too much for him. It was different from the misty forests of Bern, different from the grassy plains of Sacae, different from the sun scorched air of Nabata. It was new, different, and weird.
He shook his head and took this moment of privacy to relieve himself. As he tidied himself up he noticed something on the ground. Tracks. He took a few steps away and followed the tracks with his eyes for a moment. Deer? He followed the tracks for a moment. Crouched down and touched the fresh prints in the mud. It was running from something.. maybe the other group startled it. He kept following the tracks for a few more paces. He saw a tuff of fur embedded in nearby bark as well as blood. The trail of prints continued on into the woods, though different from what they were. The creature was limping.
"It's injured." Fresh meat would do us good. Might be a predator nearby. He shook his head again. A wild animal is no match for us. The dragon turned around behind him just to see if there was anyone or anything else following him. I shouldn't stray from the others. We can find our way back.
