She is often be disrespectful, be it inadvertent or intentional.
Although she is an adept fighter, she focuses far too much on taunting her opponents rather than fighting. Thinks very highly of herself and her skill.
Story:
Kayla always had a strong spirit. When she was growing up the villagers would joke that she was raised by her parents during the day and the animals by night. As a child she would wander the woods throughout the night and returned to the village often to find her home locked tight. She would end up sleeping in the stables with the town’s horses and pegasi. These events allowed her to grow comfortable around the animals and vice versa.
Over time she became old enough to begin riding the animals who she had grown to like so much. She took to this task with skill and grace, she was a natural. She passed all of her examinations without breaking a sweat and soon became a full-fledged Pegasus knight free to fly wherever she chose.
One day, the spirit of adventure took her far from her home. It was a trip that lasted days or maybe weeks. She didn’t keep track, Kayla simply flew and saw the continent from the back of her Pegasus. While scanning the countryside, the young Pegasus rider saw a plume of smoke and felt the urge to investigate. While approaching a village that was set ablaze, she was targeted by an archer who sat outside the gates. One arrow narrowly missed, but Kayla kept flying to examine the damaged city.
From the looks of it, there were no bandits, no pirates and no invasion force at all. The town was just rioting. Kayla raised a knowing eyebrow at the sight. It confirmed a long held suspicion she had. People are a lot closer to animals than they like to believe. While Kayla and her Pegasus stayed in the air, another arrow whizzed past her.
The archer had returned but she wasn’t concerned. She made a few quips at the archer’s poor aim before she turned to fly away. One last arrow pierced the thigh of her pegasus’ back leg. The two went crashing to the ground, falling hard into a nearby forest.
She awoke in a bed, bandages around her head and ribs. She wasn’t in nearly as much pain as she would have expected. A man sat with his back to her, facing the open doorway to the shed. It was night. Kayla offered her thanks for caring for her as well as for her Pegasus. The man questioned her. Why was she out her? What was she doing? She couldn’t give him a real answer. All she could say was. “Adventure.” The man laughed a laugh and reached toward his head.
The man removed his bandanna and tied it around her head. It was old and worn. It reeked of saltwater, but the gesture was appreciated. The man took a couple steps back and gave her a once over. “Hahar, I’d say it suits you even better than it suited me. Take care now, adventurer” With that, the man turned and exited the shack with a white axe at his hip.
Kayla grabbed the bandanna from her head. She looked at it and couldn’t help but smile. She tied the cloth round her neck and exited the shack. She found her Pegasus and gripped its reigns. Kayla took flight once again in the name of adventure.
