Leiva took the lockpick from Ryuzaki, turning it over in her hands and scrutinizing it closely. An odd shaped tool, that was for sure, but if her new mentor said that it worked, then she couldn't truly argue. She followed after Ryuzaki as he continued moving, narrowly catching the dagger tossed at her without severing her hand. "Ah, yes, the sword. Truly the most inconspicuous tool of pickpockets everywhere." She nodded along with Ryuzaki's list, counting the items on her fingers mentally. A cloak, huh? She already had one of those, but it was ratty, dirty, and cut off at the waist, and she expected that said garment she was wearing wouldn't be satisfactory to the assassin. Stealing fruit? Okay. Leiva figured that it was as good a starting point as any, so she didn't address her confusion. She nodded. "That makes sense. I'll do my best."

Ryuzaki smiled, a sort of grim humor on his face as he looked at Leiva. The simple phrase that came next was icy cold, accompanied by a look devoid of any emotion whatsoever.
"I only hope your best is enough. After all, I do not intend on sacrificing myself for you. You must carry your own weight. For now, the burden is light. Be prepared for when it becomes heavier. The load is sometimes quite dense."
There was a brief moment of silence, and then the assassin nodded to himself, turning and looking at Leiva carefully, scrutinizing her frame from head to toe in a manner that seemed almost as if she were being inspected like a table for any defects, chips, or dings. Satisfied, apparently, the man scrunched his eyes, thinking, and then spoke in a much brighter tone to his new apprentice.
"All right. If we keep making good time, we'll hit Bulgar in the evening. A prime time for some thievery. So first, we will steal you a new, heavy cloak. That will help you store things and blend in. Then we will go into the main district of commerce and rob merchants of some boots for you and other essentials, and then you will steal yourself some dinner with no assistance from me. A test, of sorts, if you will."
Ryuzaki chuckled, looking at Leiva.
"Think you're up for the task? It'll be a tall order, asking a green thief to steal a whole loaf of bread, a hunk of cheese, and a few pieces of fruit, but I think you've got the guts to give it a shake."
OOC: Feel free to end with your next post, and I'll make a thread in Bulgar for us!

Leiva's eyes shifted from side to side momentarily in the pause shortly following Ryuzaki's grim comment. While he was brooding, stoic, and uncaring, it was slightly jarring to hear him actively trying to scare her. But Leiva wouldn't let that get to her. "I know, sir." She stared at Ryuzaki as he scrutinized her, crossing her arms and shifting her weight to one side. "...what. Do I have something in my teeth?" She cocked an eyebrow at Ryuzaki, but neutralized her face once Ryuzaki finished his assessment, beginning to speak again. What a strange guy. "I'm all up for a wardrobe change, sir. If you couldn't tell, these clothes are so old they might as well have come out with me when I was born." She thought about his request of her for a moment. Stealing dinner for herself? That seemed like a pipe dream at best. She wasn't used to stealing things right under people's noses, but she couldn't fail her mentor; she knew she had it in her, even if she didn't think so sometimes. "Cheese, bread, and fruit? Easy!" She smirked and closed her eyes, beginning to walk off towards Bulgar. "Let's get right to it, then!"
