In the desert, there are sandstorms. In many other places, there are just regular storms. In Illia, there are snowstorms. It is a snowstorm that Talus would find himself in by accident, having been caught unwary by a freak blizarrd. What this meant was that his travel to the port for the Western Isles would be significantly delayed, due to the snow making it otherwise impossible to travel through. Since he couldn't use fire magic nearly as well as wind and lightning, a fact he was cursing himself out for at the moment, if he didn't find shelter soon, he'd probably freeze to death. Thankfully, he could see a church not too far away that had the lights on. "Lights... light! That means there are people there!" he thought, going up to it. A church was a sanctum for waifu and strays during storms like this, and he thanked the gods one was nearby. The cold was sapping his strength fast though, and it nearly took all of it to even make it to the doors where he knocked on the large, sturdy wooden doors. "Hello? I'm a traveler caught by this freak snowstorm! May I please take sanctum in your church until it passes?" he yelled as loudly as he could, desperately resisting the urge to fall asleep from the cold sapping his strength. He definitely knew that there would be a healer inside capable of curing the minor injuries he had sustained from the storm, and a fire to warm himself in. If he was lucky, there might even be a nice hot meal... "That....would be nice..." he thought as he then collapsed into unconciousness.

The church was a warm and welcoming place a complete contrast to the harsh climate outside the door. She really had no reasoning for being here, just another stop on her travels. Being raised by her parents and theirs jobs really made churches feel like a second home to her. The Priest had led her in and offered her a place to stay for a bit. She did not realize how exhausted she was until she got there. She laid down on one of the benches and drifted off to the dark and sweet embrace of sleep. Raina was not one to sleep hard and soundly, so when a shouting and a loud thud was heard outside of the door she awoke with a gasp and fell off the bench with a loud crash! "Eeeeeeeeeeeeeep!" She called out as she fell.
She managed to pick herself up, rubbing the back off her head as she sighed. "What was that noise, I wonder?" She said to herself as she walked to the church door. The priest had beaten her to the door and swung it open with a loud creak, something chilling to the bone. The cold wind blasting through the newly opened door nipping at their poor bodies. Raina shivered as she saw the shape of a man on the ground outside the door. She ran to the man and accidentally knocked the priest down with her large "assets". "I'm sorry!" She called out as she slid on her knees and stopped beside the man. She picked up his head and laid it on her lap and called out. "Someone get a blanket and some food quickly!"

As Talus was rushed inside, he could faintly feel something soft press against his head for just a second. He was shivering as they carried him in, and while he was said to be cutest while asleep, now was not such a case. It wasn't until he was set down on a pew near the fire that his face relaxed as well as his body. At that point, all previous traces of the pain from the cold disappeared from his face, and it almost looked like a child was asleep soundly. It wasn't until some time later that he regained conciousness.
"Ugh... am I... in the church? Gotta be..." he said, slowly awakening, much to the shock of one of the priests, who went to go get someone hurridly. He groaned as he began to stretch. The last thing he remembered was him on the church doorstep, and then blackness. He figured he must have collapsed from the cold. A good thing they found him, he thought. Had no one heard him, he could very well have succumbed to it fully. He wasn't usually a praying man, but today, he thanked the gods for saving him. He sighed as he sat up. It would be best for him to relax and recover his strength, as he could still faintly hear the snow outside. He would probably have to end up staying the night as well because it was far too risky to travel outside in the night here, especially with the snowstorm around.

She patiently waited for the man to wake up. She did not know why she cared so much about a stranger but she could not leave without knowing he was okay. The priest came to her with a smile and informed her that the man was awake and seemed okay and mentioned something about being more careful where her body parts were swinging. Raina was a little oblivious to what he meant by that but paid it not heed as she walked towards the now awake man. Her heels making a clearly audible noise against the floor of the church. She smiled as she saw the man up and stretching.
She stopped close by the now awaken man and crossed her arms against her chest causing an obvious reaction. "So, it is about time you awake sleepy head." She says as she giggles angelically. "You gave me quite a scare being out there in the cold, are you sure you are okay? Oh, wait you do not know me, goodness how silly of me. I am Raina Lynna Vanille Scylar, a traveling acolyte who happened to be here to find you. Who may you be?" As she stood there she stood with her hip out a little and showed off the slit up her right leg exposing a lot of skin. It did not seem like this was an obvious thing just something she did to stand comfortably. She flipped her hair behind her shoulders and the strands of bright pink almost sparkled in the torchlight.

What he saw then was a sight that made his heart start beating rapidly. Before him was a beauty the likes of which he thought only existed in fairy tales. He had to remind himself that the beauty now near him was real, and not an angel in heaven. It took all of his willpower not to stare in awe for too long, and he could barely choke out a sentence. It was a full minute before he managed to pull himself together. The soft thing he had felt earlier, could it have been...? Her name was Raina, that much he made note of. So she was a traveling acolyte, huh? But before he could get anywhere else,he decided to answer her. "My name is Talus. I'm a traveling mage. Sorry for giving you such a scare... thanks for taking care of me." he said. The leg she inadvertently showed nearly made him stare, but he caught himself just in time. Godammit, she was one helluva beauty. Nice, pretty... he had to keep himself focused. "Um... do you know where my things were taken when I came here? I'LL be leaving first thing tomorrow morning assuming there's no more delays..." he said. Buisness before pleasure, after all. Maybe he should ask her to come traveling with him? It would be nice for him to have a partner, after all. Of course, he had to wonder just what she was doing out here, but decided to keep that question to himself for now. He didn't want to make her angry. Nope
