Aea listened intently to the directions that Theo was giving to her, and she prepared herself to completely disregard every word he said on the matter. He was telling her to run away, but there was no way she was about to do that. "What? Oh, no no no. There is no way in hell you're getting rid of me that easily, Theodore!" At this point, Theo could see a new fire in Aea's eyes, accentuated by a flash of reptilian eyes before returning back to normal. "If you think I'm gonna run off, while you become a pincushion for my sake, you've got another thing coming, bunny boy! We do this together or not at all. That's what friends do, isn't it?"
Aea grinned as adrenaline began pumping through her. This was the first time she could think of, at least in a long while, where she felt excited for battle. Perhaps it was because the idea of protecting her newfound comrade was a very potent source of motivation. Perhaps the dragon within simply craved for battle. More than likely, it was a mixture of the two things. Either way, she prepared herself for when the hunters would show their faces to the two shifters. "Don't worry Theo. If things start to go south, these hunters will be in for a very nasty surprise. Let's just hope we can bring some of them down before and if that moment comes. Just a thought too, maybe I can ride on your back into battle and help keep arrows away with my wind magic. I don't know how that'd hamper your fighting though, if at all."
Readying her breath attack for the first hunter that was brave enough, or foolish enough, to show themself, Aea was prepared to fight alongside Theo to get them both to safety. If they didn't do something here, they would just continue to be followed. This needed to be ended now. These humans would learn their lesson for wishing to hurt her friend. And gods help them if they actually did cause him harm.

Oooh! What was THAT? Her eyes almost looked like the ones of the snake taguels... Intriguing. Anyways, her words had made Theodore sigh deeply and drop his head... Only to rise his head again! This time with one of his devilish grins as he started talking: "Welp, then I guess there's only one thing left to do, friend. Turning around, he breathed deeply, almost as if it was a ritual before battle.
"Let's kill every single one of them."
Quickly, he peeked from the side of the rock. One hunter seemed to have taken the role of sentinel in this hunt... Smiling a bit, he gestured to Aea to stay behind him. Come on you stupid human, come over here so I can crack your skull. As he got closer, Theo quickly got ahold of his arm and feriousiously swinged it to send the archer's head crash into the stone, making a cracking sound. "One down, five more to go I think..." Starting to loot his corpse, Theodore retrieved his bow and arrows, already feeling much more confident about this.
"Alright, for now we need to know where they are. Charging in could be dangerous since I suspect most of them to use bows... For now, let's just try ad get the kump on them before they can pinpoint where we are. Everything good?" Looking once again over the rock, he noticed the way was clear for them to change cover. Taking an arrow out of his quiver, he prepared to shoot at any unusual movement in the woods.
Smirking a bit, he started to walk towards a large tree to hide behind. "It's showtime..."

Aea was still shocked at the efficiency with which Theo could kill a grown adult, even without his rabbit form, as he bashed the first hunter against the rock. Not that she was complaining, it's just that someone of his stature hardly looked like the type to do that. Aea realized they were still outnumbered, but they also were the day before, and with one down, the odds were now almost the same as before. "I'm feeling pretty good about this now, Theo. If they're all like him, they don't even horses, so escape will likely be impossible if they decide to flee. Now we just have to wait for more of them..."
Moving with Theo, she went behind another tree somewhat near him, waiting for any other hunters to come close enough. Unfortunately, even though she could knock people down with her wind breath, it didn't reach super far, and unless they were lined up perfectly like the day prior, she'd only get one per breath, so it'd have to count every time. Of course, Theo had a bow now, so hopefully he'd be picking off some before they got too close. I still don't want to shift unless it's an emergency.. I won't even be able to hold it together long before turning back, but I'll be able to finish off a couple or so if it's needed. As Aea prepared herself for the coming fight, her heart was racing with excitement, and she could hardly contain the dragon within her as she began imagining the looks of horror on the faces of these foolish humans if a giant rabbit and a dragon began laying waste to their group.

"Oh yeah, no escaping from MY bunny hops... Eh, they'll be dead before they can ev-"
*TWANG*
He hadn't even felt or heard the man who shot the arrow. Turning around, he saw what looked like a grizzled archer... Surprisingly enough, he also seemed to carry a scimitar on his hip. A yeoman? Guess he's the leader... Speaking of which, as Theo said those words in his head, three other archers popped out behind him, definitely proving who was the boss around him as they were letting him do the talking.
"Hey, you. Beastman. I'm not gonna let a thing like you kill my brethrens without doing anything. Time for words is over, you'll pay your debt with your own vile beast blood."
"Well you sure are a stick in the mud. I would've at least hoped you'd take me out to diner before sucking me dry like a giant leech."
No reply came from the yeoman, or the archers for that matter. As they all pulled back on the bowstrings, Theo instinctively jumped behind a large dead tree which had fallen down. Crap, I didn't have time to see where Aea was... Taking an arrow of his own, he decided that offense would the best defense... He just had to pray his agility would be able to save his fluffy ears. Leaping over the tree trunk, he quickly shot an arrow while in the air during his bunny hop. While he did graze on of the lackey's arm, it really wasn't that much. Let's just see how long I can go before shifting. At least with the bow, I'm not at a range disadvantage...
Quickly getting into cover behind a tree again, barely dodging the shots that were beign sent at him, he started looking around for Aea. Ugh, I don't usually do this whole "teamwork" thing. Guess I got ahead of myself without checking what she was doing...

Four of them, all archers.. Hmm, one of them also has a sword. I take it he's the leader? If we can single him out, he'll be easier to take down. Moving slowly through the trees, making sure not to say anything to Theo, just in case the archers heard her, she made her way closer and closer to the rear flank of the group of hunters. She figured that her best bet would be to disorient and/or kill the goons in the back, leaving more of an opening for Theo to close in on the rest. Breathing in as quietly as she was able, Aea got within ten feet or so of one of the archers, making eye contact with Theo if she was able, before blasting the rear center archer with a blast of wind, knocking him to his feet, still alive, but shocked and disoriented, winded from the unexpected impact.
Turning around, but making sure his two still-standing allies remained focused on the taguel, the leader drew his sword upon locking eyes with Aea, saying in an annoyed voice, "Oh? So there's another one of you? Wait a second... You don't look like one of those beast folk. What're you doing helping some... freak like that? Oh, no matter. You're helpin' him, so that makes you an enemy too!"
Oh, if only you knew me more...
Backing up a bit, Aea prepared to dodge the attacks of the yeoman. Despite his apparent affinity with bows more than swords, she still was at a severe disadvantage in melee, given her only defense was her breath. If she was to shift, she wanted to be sure she wouldn't just be shot down by the two other archers. Hopefully Theo would be bringing them down fairly soon. In the meantime, the yeoman was preparing to move in for his first strikes against Aea.

As Aea made eye contact with him, Theodore decided to wait for her to do her thing, knowing she'd porbably create an opening for him. Hearing one of them fall to the ground as he still was behind the tree trunk gave him the signal he needed as he pulled on the string, readying another arrow. Quickly turning, his arms were as still as rock as he aimed towards the fell archer's head. The satisfying sound of bones cracking and blood spilling made Theodore grin slightly as he looked at the rest of the enemies. Sadly, the other two's counterattack was able to connect. Weirdly enough, Theo couldn't find any arrow stuck in him... Huh? Wait a second, I'm sure that that arrow hit m- why does my head feel wet? Looking up, he finally noticed blood pouring out of a gaping hole, in his left ear.
"OH! YOU WANNA PLAY DIRTY HUH, PUNK!?!? ALRIGHTY THEN, TIME TO GO ALL OUT THEN! GUESS YOUR PARENTS SHOULD'VE TOLD YOU THE ADAGE: DON'T. MESS. WITH. A. BUNNY." Those last words already started to sound a lot more guttural and deep than the others as Theo got on all four. The scene was able to stop the two from attacking for a bit, the intimidation having pulled off quite nicely. Once again, his fur started to appear, claws digging in the earth, eyes starting to shine brightly, almost leaving a trail behind them. Dashing towards them, he gracefully dodged the first arrow which was shot quite clumsilly. THe other one however, was able to lodge itself in his shoulder. As if that's gonna stop me... Pouncing on the one on the left which was a bit closer, Theodore started clawing at his chest before ripping out his throat. Blood pouring out, it accidentally reached inside of the bunny's mouth.
Uh oh... Seems like I've done it again huehuehue... feeling the typical bloodlust that came with drinking blood, Theodore was already ready to completely anhilate the second archer.

Aea was satisfied with Theo's quick dispatching of the fallen archer and one of the other two. She was a bit concerned when she saw blood enter his mouth, but as long as he still knew not to attack her, she figured it could only serve as a boon in the fight. Setting her concentration back on the yeoman, he began to swing at her, attempting a pretty standard swing, which she was able to easily sidestep. Aea noticed with a glance that there was a group of medium to large sized rocks not too far off to the side, and decided to bolt after them. The yeoman shouted out, "Come back here, you little brat! I'm not done with you!"
Both of them running over to the rocks about the same time, Aea had to quickly spin around to dodge another blow from her attacker. Unfortunately, she didn't realize that the incoming blow was a feint, and the sword was brought around to the other side, slashing into her left abdomen. Loudly crying out in more pain than she'd felt in a long time, Aea began to fear for her life. With a wound like this, she could still live, but there was no way she'd be able to dodge future attacks from the yeoman as easily as before. Quickly going into a pocket in her clothing, Aea pulled out a small, perfectly round gemstone of a deep purple color. Just holding it was already reinvigorate her to some degree. Now growling under her breath, her eyes shifting to the same reptilian look they'd had before the battle, Aea said aloud to the yeoman, "You know, I really didn't want to have to resort to this, but you've left me little choice..."
Jumping up onto one of the smaller rocks, Aea held the stone up into the air, letting the winds of the Sacaean plains touch it's surface. Soon after, a breeze began swirling around Aea's own body, eventually becoming string enough to pull some sediment and grass up, concealing the actual transformation. Looking on in confusion, and too terrified to try and interfere with the wind, the yeoman simply yelled out, "W-what kind of freak are you?"
As Aea felt the winds begin to subside, she knew that her first transformation in decades was complete. I hope you're watching, Theo. I can't hold this for that long... Better make it count. The yeoman was now utterly horrified by the sight before him. Aea's body was now a long, purple, serpentine body, measuring out to roughly fifteen feet in length. Her arms and legs were now completely nonexistent, and she had a smooth, but distinctly draconic head. Her feathered wingspan measured out to about twenty feet. Being face to face with what was essentially a living legend made the yeoman shudder. All he could manage to yell put was the stuttered word "D-D-Dragon!" before he attempted to turn tail and sprint away.
Before he could get away, Aea flew overhead of him, letting out a shrieking roar and wrapping her snake-like body around him like a makeshift barrier, leaving his only escape to be back in the direction of the rocks. Before the terrified man could do anything, Aea quickly consumed all the air she could from nearby, blasting the yeoman with a gist of raw wind stronger than she'd done in her human form, but admittedly very weak by draconic standards. Still, it was enough to send the man tumbling a good few feet away... right into one of the rocks, where Aea heard his arm crack from trying to stop the impact. As the man screamed in agony, Aea felt the winds whipping around her again in the same way as before, and after a moment, she was standing yet again in her human form, holding the dragonstone in her hands, which she now pocketed again. As she slowly stumbled from mild exhaustion over to the wounded man, all she could hear him mutter was, "P-please... have mercy..."

Slowly walking towards the last archer in front of him, Theodore's feet fell heavily on the earth, his breath almost visible to the naked eye, almost as if the bloodlust was taking physical form in him. Must...kill... Looking at the man now in complete shock and terror after seeing his companion being shredded to pieces by a giant bunny's mouth, he simply continued to walk over to him, enjoying every last bit of the despair of his expression. "N-no! S-stop right there you m-m-monster!!!" Hearing the bowstring release, he felt the sharp iron arrowhead slide on his head, leaving a nice cut going from in between his eyes up to the top of the skull. As id the puny little thing was goign to pierce my skull... Especially with that aiming angle. I mean, you must be freaking stupid or something.
As more red continued to soak his fur, Theodore didn,t feel much pain right now. Most of it were mere tingles on his body as he was still deeply focusing on the archer, now definitely intimidated by the taguel."I-I don't wanna die! A deep but almost inaudible laugh could be heard, coming from the taguel himself. You poor thing, scared of Lady Reaper to take your soul away... Well I'm sorry, but your leader seems to have made the matter very clear already sadly.
Remembering the yeoman, he imitated his voice, now a lot deeper, perfect for the last nail in that guy's coffin. "Time for words is over buddy." Turning around, he quickly delivered a bunny kick to the man's jaw, sending him flying in the branches of a random tree, probably either dead, or near it. The cracking sounds definitely proved that a lot of damage had been dealt. However, the real star of the show appeared when he turned around. Aea, in her transformed glory.
W-what is that? Nobody that I've seen in Vinland can do these kinds of things... Just what the hell is this girl and how is she becoming more intriguign by the second? Ok, nevermind that question answers itself.
Turning back into his human form, he arrived behind Aea, putting a hand on her shoulder before stepping in front of her to talk to the yeoman, head still incredibly bloody. "I'll finish up this thing..." His now broken arm definitely made him less of a threat, so Theo felt confident with his own bow poitned at him.
"P-please! I won't tell anyone! Just... don't kill me!"
"...Not only do you want to kill me for incrediblt stupid reasons, now I must ignore the fact you wounded my friend!?!?! But don't worry, I'll make sure you get to live as long as you can..."
Shooting at him in the shoulder, he was able to make him stuck in the rocks, the arrow too painful to remove. As he continued to shout in agony, Theodoe continued to stare at him, a grin on his entire face. Eheh, suffer! You deserve nothing else!

Aea was glad that Theo came over to finish the job that she'd started. She was pretty drained for the moment after her transformation, and she just wanted to sit down somewhere as soon as possible. But first, the yeoman had to be finished off. As much as she may have questioned the ethics of Theo's method of killing the man, it was certainly effective, and she could tell that it proved immensely satisfying for the taguel. Aea simply watched on with a blank expression. Though she may have disagreed with the method of his demise, she wouldn't deny that it was best to kill him. They couldn't trust him to keep his mouth shut, not after what he'd just been through. It was simply something that dragons and taguel alike had become accustomed to on Elibe, though the latter was much more recently.
Once the man had bled out entirely, something that took quite a bit longer than Aea would have preferred, she moved away a bit and just sat on the ground, exhausted for the moment. Looking I've at Theo, she grinned a bit. "Well, there you go. Secret's out, so you can feel free to run away in utter horror at any minute that's convenient. I won't stop you, seeing as you understand what it's like to have to keep quiet about what you are. I have no reason to believe that you'd tell anyone about me." Aea's voice was a mixture of sarcasm laced with how she actually felt. She knew Theo likely wouldn't tell, but even so, she wasn't sure what exactly he thought about her transformation, whether good or bad.

Breathing like a mad beast, Theodore relished in the moment of seeing his prey slowly dying. If he had been a wolf or some other taguel, he would've jumped in to devour him, but sadly, his poor rabbit stomach couldn't handle any kind of meat, so all he could do was watch and smile. After the yeoman let out his final breath, Theo started to feel the bloodlust wear off now that the battle was definitely over. Taking out a small handkerchief from his pouch, he started to try and wipe as best he could the blood off of his face. Dang, that's a pretty bad cut... Hope it doesn't leave a scar. I was never much for the battlescar aesthetic vibe... Slowly feeling his wounds start to regenerate as the blood already started clotting to slowly close them up, He looked at Aea, now resting. Does shifting cause her that much fatigue? Hmm, not that that really matters DID THAT GUY SAY "DRAGON"? As the purple haired girl confirmed it with the way she was talking, a gleam of childlike wonder appeared in his eyes.
"Run away!!?!? I have just learned that dragons, those creatures humans ramble on about ARE ACTUALLY REAL and you think I'm going to just up and go!?! That was probably the moment incredible thing I've seen on this continent! Those wings... that majestic body! It was amazing to watch! I've never seen anything like it back on Vinland, the snake tribe pales in comparison!" Wait a second... Am I showing interest and admiration for another person? Oh deat earth mother, something is definitely wrong with me...
Decidin that he might as well stop trying to be modest, he wanted to make sure Aea knew he wasn't scared of her: "If anything, now I want to stay even more! Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I was going to meet a dragon!"

Aea chuckled a bit as Theo went full on into childlike wonder at her transformation. "Wow, you're taking this really well, Theo. I mean, I sort of figured that you'd handle it better than most, but that you'd still be tempted to run away like a rabbit during hunting season. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad you stayed, it's just... unexpected, to say the least. It's strange, you're almost like a completely different person now that you've seen me as a dragon, heheh. Maybe the average person would like you more if you kept this attitude up." Aea's last statement was a mix of truth and sarcasm, though in her own defense, Theo's typical attitude was in fact starting to grow on her a bit.
You know, I think could kinda get used to these compliments... Magnificent body? I know you were talking about my dragon form, but it still sounds like a nice compliment, even if I am purposefully taking it a different way. Hm, then again, I don't know much of taguel. Maybe he has a thing for reptilian bodies. Eww, I don't want to imagine that! Gods, why did I jump to that image, of all things!?
Blushing a bit at the tangent of her own inner thoughts, Aea decided to change the subject. She figured she might at hers well entertain the taguel's insatiable curiosity, especially in this specific instance. "Well, I'm sure you have a bunch of questions for me. Go ahead, the least I can do is provide a straight answer at this point."

Well now that she was pointing it out, Theo had to try and save his image: "Oh don't worry, I'll be back to my old cynical self after the shock of this situation dissipates." Closing his eyes while chucklign to himself, while he did enjoy to be cynical in most situations, maybe Aea had a bit of truth in her statement. However, before that happens I think some major rewiring of my mind is gonna have to happen first...
Anyways, now here came the interesting part. Aea had just showed Theo the free buffet and he had just been offered to eat as much as wanted! Hmm, nah. Knowledge is much more interesting than food even! Sitting down next to the tired dragon, (ugh, feels weird that now I know what she is), he looked at her for a bit, holding his chin with left hand, spending half of his brainpower just trying to look like he was thinking while the other half was actually doing it. "Hmm, well if you're offering so generously, who am I to turn down such an offer?"
"Is her name an alias? How big is the dragon tribe? Is it even a tribe? Do dragons actually hate each other? UGH, SO MANY QUESTIONS, SO FEW VOCAL CHORDS TO SAY THEM. Looking at her, a flash of inpiration appeared in his mind, realising what his first question should be.
"Well here goes nothing... How come you look so tired? I mean, you only shifted a few moments, and not only that, but you only attacked once. Is turning into a dragon really that physically taxing? I mean, for us taguels, shifting ain't that complicated... Does that mean that your human form is your "real" one?"

Aea was actually quite glad Theo already seemed to have plenty of questions built up to ask her now. After the first one, she continued looking around at nothing in particular as she began to answer. "Well, first I'll address the point of my 'true' form. With dragons, I suppose you could say that both our human form and dragon form are equally 'natural', at least in the current circumstances of Elibe. As for why, that'd be the answer to the first part of your question. As a matter of fact, for both dragons and manaketes, of which I am one if you'd like to get technical, it's extremely taxing to transform, especially for one as young as I who hasn't had too much experience doing so. Now, why is it that way? I honestly don't know for certain, but I remember my parents occasionally talking about how Elibe has been dry on magic, as it were, ever since the Scouring. Problem is, dragons are practically walking and flying generators of magic, especially in their true dragon forms, so staying that way too long can be very draining."
Taking a bit of a breath in between her words, Aea now turned back to Theo before continuing, "I'm mostly okay now, but I haven't done that in a few decades easily, at least, so it was especially taxing this time. In theory, as I get stronger and more experienced, I should be a sneak to maintain and control that form better, but only time will tell that for sure."
Damn, Theo must be going ballistic with curiosity inside his head with these hints of my age. Maybe he already suspected I was older than I look, but I can't wait to see the look on his face if he goes and asks that!

After she finished talking, Theo brought a hand to his chin, starting to speak to himself: "So Elibe was once a land with a high concentration of magical energy... Maybe the genocide was what reduced the magical energy. Or even maybe that the dragons were actually the ones responsible for it, keeping each other more powerful. Hmm, pretty amazing teamwork when you compare it to what taguels are doing these days, fighting to become the leader or who'll be the one to get the alpha female... Suddenly, his tran of thought got cut off as something else bamboozled his brain. Wait, decades!?! Ohoho, the plot thickens it seems.
Turning around, Theodore said: "So your parents survived the Scouring and you were born after it, eh? Hmm... Well if that old geezer was right, that would make you less than a thousand years old at least. Though that probably means you're wayyyy older than I am. Heh, should I call you "Grandma" from now on?
Anyways, I'm not very good at gauging age, especially considering most taguels don't even know their own lifespan thanks to our way of life. Also, you look like a young human to me, so to imagine being centuries old is quite hard to do... Well let's see, in a thousand years, only one new generation in your family came to be, so I guess I'll go approximately for now... hmm, does 200 to 300 hundred sound reasonable? No hold on... If dragons simply age much slowly, that wouldn't make any sense... Unless dragons simply stop physically aging after a bit... UGH FINE, JUST TELL ME ALREADY." with those last words, he scooted over to her, extremely impatient for her to finally cough it up. "And no, you won't get away with just a "don't ask a woman's age" bit, I do not give a single care about that."

Once Theo started poking fun at the fact that she was old, Aea got a bit of a pouty face like she had the night before. "Now listen here, Theo, I'm certainly not a grandmother! But yes, I am surely older than you, technically, if I had to assume. I'm actually a decent bit older than your guess of two or three hundred. To be completely truthful, I'm actually six hundred and fifty years old, give or take a little bit, which puts me roughly at abouuut... nineteen or twenty by human standards. I know, I know, it's kind of hard to grasp I'm guessing. Dragons age a lot slower than humans, and when we reach adulthood around age five hundred, our physical aging pretty much effectively grinds to a halt. Most dragons I know of have tended to live to at least a thousand or so, bit it's theoretically possible to go well beyond that."
Putting her hands on her hips, Aea continued, a bit sassier now, "So yeah, there doesn't need to be any calling me 'grandma' or anything. By my own race's standards, I'm in early adulthood, so I'm far from ancient!" Realizing that this likely sounded super petty, Aea worked to change the conversation back to the original intent: inquiry. "So, like I said before, any more questions? At this point, I'm more than willing to answer them, provided I actually know the answer. Er, well, um... I'm not starting to bore you with this stuff or anything, am I?"
