Participants (as planned for now please pm me if you don't want to anymore/ can't):Ian Riley,Fargus,Gorou,Daniel Kanish and Nerune.
Nerune was sitting on a bench waiting for the horn which was supposed to start this whole thing.
How the hell did I even get here? Training youngsters...never thought I'd be doing this again. But I get paid for this so I really should not complain.
She mustered the two young recruits next to her: they were both wearing blue armour without any fancy specialties. The most basic thing you'd get. She couldn't see their faces but she could feel that they were nervous. To distract herself, so that the nervousness didn't start to encompass her too she recapped her way here.
It all started when I came to Laus. There was a soldier on the streets asking around for mercenaries, promising to pay well. When I asked him what kind of task he had for a mercenary he seemed happy someone even asked. He explained briefly that the military needed some help from mercs to train their youngsters on how to work with people they didn't know, to reach an objective. For that they had planned a kind of "capture the flag" with slightly different rules. There were supposed to be three teams: red and blue for the mercs and trainees as well as a third, green, team that was guarding the flag. The red and blue teams were supposed to be composed of two mercs and two trainees each while the green one was going to be two armour knights and a merc. Should they not get enought mercenaries they'd add a soldier or two to make it fair. You could use whatever tactic you wanted to get the flag; even let the others do the job and then rob them. Since there was going to be pay for the mercs and it seemed rather interesting I decided to join. And that brings us to now.
Sighing heavily Nerune decided to prioritize training over pay. The Soldier had told her that she would be paid more depending on wheather her team won or not. And while pay was important, she knew what it was like to be a trainee. And she knew what the soldiers were trying to provoke. Mercs would be a lot less cooperative if their pay could be compromised. They EXPECTED her to not be cooperative. So she would do the opposite.
"But we're going to win."
(OOC: I'm kinda provoking PC fights here. Just to be clear: blue isn't going to win just cause I'm in it. I'll try to have it be a bit like the arena: maybe ask someone to help out or play referee for a bit. You're allowed to take the flag if you feel like you can, just please be fair and make it exciting. And don't dodge everything that your enemy throws at you once you have it; but those are basic PC fight rules so you should know that. (Adding that I'll be reserving the right to call bs if I feel that anything is unfair. I'll not abuse that right but if you grab the flag in your first post then please be prepared for me to make you drop it.) Please pm me for anything that seems unclear and I'll answer/change this explanation at the start.)
(OOC edits(no particular order):- you control members of your team. No controlling of green/red npcs as blue or vise versa. And for red/blue: please talk to your partner(if you have one) if both of you control both trainees or each controls one.
- Terrain: mostly forest, starting points for red and blue on hills (one one each side of the "arena". Flag is obviously in the middle, so roughly the same distance to the read/blue starting points). Same for the flag: on a small hill which makes it easier to defend the flag.
