Lynessa and Roy, her husband, had found themselves in the probably most dangerous region in Lycia right now. Tuscana had been known for its battered state from Baels and bandits manifestation which its broken armies had failed to take care of. There was a lot of better destination in Lycian League but the couple had decided to come her and stay awhile for helping the poor villagers. Only the bigger cities had been neatly protected so far, thank to the imbecile Marquess, so many villages were in poor state and even had to rely to mercenaries who protected them only for coins.
Claiming as adventurers from Ilia, the couple had traveled around the region for a few weeks and helped some villages. They accepted only necessary amount of provisions as payment, although they had accepted some money which was forced to them by grateful villagers. The one who had come up with this idea of charity was Roy and Lynessa could only follow her husband's crusade with smile and approving gaze.
It had been a few days since their last "job" and they had set a camp near a river for easy supply of water and fish. Being self-sufficient like this lessened their traveling expense so far as both had required tools and experience to adopt this lifestyle. In this beautiful morning, Lynessa was left alone in the river to take care of laundry and preparing meal while Roy went into the forest to procure herbs and hunt rabbits. Normally, it would be dangerous to be alone in this dangerous region but both was capable of protecting themselves.
Lynessa sat on a boulder in the riverbank, the bottom of her long robe rolled upward so it wouldn't get wet. Her bare feet played under the clean water as her hands moved up and down to rinse the dirty clothes. She sometimes glanced toward the tent which located not far from the spot where she was doing laundry. Her eyes would wander between the tent entrance, watching of possible thieves, and the campfire where the leftover of fish stew from last night was being heated. Her stomach growled a bit when the aroma reached her, reminding the dragoness that she hadn't had breakfast yet. Lynessa just hoped the aroma of her stew wouldn't attract beast, or Baels for worse.
