So, ever heard of them? There are technically Three games so far (Star Ocean, Star Ocean: The Second Story, and Star Ocean: Till the End of Time) along with remakes of the former (first) two games, done for the Nintendo DS. Till the End of Time is for the PS2, while I believe the original two were for the PS. Square Enix was the developer, so you know it has to be at least decent. XD

First Star Ocean was for SNES, Second was indeed for PSX. And yes they were indeed awesome games.
The first one had some MAJOR gameplay flaws, but the plot and game itself were really up to snuff.

My bad, but I haven't played any except the 3rd. XD I have seen videos of The Second Story. Till the End of Time was excellent, though.

I wanted to play SO3, but I never had a PS2, so I am SOL.
Don't really have the time for a tripple digit hour RPG now anyway.

It's great. ;D Don't listen to the Youtube review, though. They gave it 7 out of 10, and didn't even really give a reason for it. It's an awesome game.

Practically anything made by Tri-Ace is pure bliss. Too bad they...damn they.
Plus, it's PSP that has the remakes of both Star Ocean and Star Ocean: The Second Story.

Next time you go to GameStop ask them to check near by stores, they can check all the stores in their district.
I love Star Ocean it was a great game and an amazing final battle, which I beat and turned off during the credits and could never repeat my three in the morning accomplishment....

I've never played it but I've seen something about Star Ocean EX. If I recall youtube has the anime version of that...Then I looked the game up and said,"nah" after seeing screenshots.
Alan have you tried online? (figured it would be ok to ask.)

The DS is also supposed to be getting the remakes, according to Nintendo Power.

Really now? Haven't heard anything about that, really. That'd rock, though. Especially for the original, since I'm not really a fan of the original battle system(it's good, but the controls can get annoying).

The DS is also supposed to be getting the remakes, according to Nintendo Power. God I hope so. I don't play imports, so I never got my hands on the first one, but the second one is one of my favorite games of all time. Epic storyline, great twists, excellent characters, killer battle system. It's simply wonderful. not so keen on SoTet, the sequel... mostly because of 3-person party system. Star Ocean EX was actually fairly well done. It stuck more or less to the plot of the games, and did a lot more for developing some of the characters than was seen in the game (an impressive feat, actually). It's shame it ended abruptly, and didn't finish the game's plot.
