To everyone who has a wii. (Which may not be that many...)
I recently updated my wii's system, and it was working fine before, playing games with ease, but since the system update...it won't play wii games (though oddly it plays Gcube games still...). It's been like this for about a few weeks now, so I'm debating to either wait for the next update in hopes that fixes it, or try managing the wii's memory (which means loss of all data).
Thoughts? Suggestions?

Huh, I don't know. Sounds similar to a bricked Wii, although I don't think a bricked Wii can be used, period. Have you been modding your Wii, by any chance? If not, then... Maybe Nintendo screwed you over! Okay, sorry, bad joke, but honestly, I have no clue. I would recommend you post this on a forum. Oh wait...

No, I play legitimately man. And Nintendo already screwed me over. I've been a faithful Nintendo fan for years, and you know what happens: They like grandma's playing video games more than they like hardcore gamers (which is why I'm planning on getting a 360 soon...or a PS3, but I'm not made of money... -.-; )
So yeah, that's for the input.

Why not email Nintendo of America about your problem instead of random geeks like us?

Shut the hell up. I'm tired of seeing how people call Nintendo for kids or not targeting hard core gamers and that's what the ps3 and 360 are targeting "hardcore" gamers. You realise there's a great number of "kiddie" games on ALL systems. You also know that Sony isn't a big game producing company and if they do make a game it's not getting 4/5, 5/5, game of the year, and rankings like that. Microsoft don't make any games them self either, atleast to my knowledge. Intelligence System, Game Freak, HAL laboratory are branches of Nintendo and all have great series.

Nintendo also is one of the highest money making companies in the world. Most of these hardcore games sell less and have less replay value than these so called "Kiddie" games as some say.

I'm sick and tired of people saying Nintendo's for kids!!! Last time anyone checked, the PS3 only had about 10 more games rated T or above than the Wii. Here's some more reasons I like Nintendo better: 1) At least half of Sony's games were made by Nintendo first, and Nintendo did them at a better quality. 2) Microsoft? Ha! The only original games they have are Halo and Blinx, and, while Blinx is good (I haven't played story on Halo, so I'm not judging it yet), Twilight Princess beats it handily. 3) Nintendo has more consistent quality to it. I played Star Ocean 3 for the PS2, and it had some decent graphics. About a year later, Radiata Stories came out. Let me put it this way: The characters didn't even have seperate fingers. -_- 4) Nintendo has several unbelievable franchises. Sony has pieces of both good and bad franchises. Those are the basics. I do like all 3 of the major publishers, but I prefer Nintendo. (They have Zelda, Mario, Pokemon, Metroid, and, none of you should forget, Fire Emblem) As to your Wii problems, couldn't tell you. Sorry.

Dude calm down, 1. No games made by Nintendo went to Sony, Third party makers can choose which and how many systems they want. 2. Fable, that's all I have to say. 3. I've never heard of Radiata stories, but both games were made by Square Enix, maybe you should complain to them instead of Sony. And Nintendo has consistent qualities? Since when do realistic Metroid and cartoony Pokemon look alike? Games SHOULDN'T look consistent, some people like cartoon, some like realistic, it's just good business. 4. Sony has basically one franchise, a couple others, but it is mostly just Everquest.
Sounds to me like you believe that: Not all games on the playstation are good Therefore, Sony is bad.

No, not my belief at all. Sorry if that's the way it came across. When I have more time, I'll address your other concerns, but I'm sorry if I came over as angry. I go a bit over-the-top in the heat of the moment sometimes. >_<
Okay, addressing Dirk: 1) I never seem to remember that one. >_< But I will say this: systems play a big part in game quality, and big companies like Sony and Nintendo control the release dates. 2) Don't know much about Fable, but I have heard of it. I do know that it was originally for the PC Fable was for the PC originally. Microsoft neither produced it nor did they publish it. 3) By consistent, I was referring to amount quality, not type of quality. 4) Meh. Haven't heard much of Everquest.
Feel free to address anything else you'd like to say. As I said, I like all 3 major publishers; I just prefer Nintendo.

I posted my long and sad story on another site. Enjoy:
I remember having "which is the best" system debates with my friends up since I was like 6. While Nintendo had it's top tier status early on, recently (namely with the Gamecube) debates always got more heated. Arguments would always be something like: "Gamecube isn't a very powerful system" or "Nintendo is kiddy. There aren't any good games." And I would always counter with: "Gamecube is technically more powerful than the PS2 and looks especially good with the SD cable" or "Not all games are kiddy. Besides, here are some great games..." And I would list games like Mario Sunshine, Resident Evil 4, Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Metroid Prime, Paper Mario, Skies of Arcadia, Tales of Symphonia, Path of Radiance, and whatnot. Most people ended up agreeing with me, at least partially, that the Gamecube was not the crappy, secondhand, throwaway system most people labeled it as. I was content either way, I enjoyed my Gamecube.
Then the Wii was announced... At first it was the Revolution. Alright, sounded cool. Then we got the controller...A remote. Well, don't let first appearances fool you, I thought. Then they renamed it the Wii...Ok....whatever. Looking forward to a revolutionary, innovative, and promising system, the first debates began to arise. This time, though, at this point, I had no real ammo yet. The Wii had to prove itself. The DS destroying the gimmick label was not enough. XBOX 360 comes out. Does decently well. Cool enough. By now we've figured out the Wii will NOT be a powerhouse. Oh well, Nintendo hasn't failed me yet. After a year of waiting and 9 hours in a line in front of target, I finally obtain my Wii. AWESOME. I go home, boot it up, and the post-sale glow has not worn off yet. I make my Mii. Cool, kind of pointless though, since I went straight to Twilight Princess. Great game. The disc doesn't come out until I beat it, and punch in WarioWare. Fun, but nothing compared to TP. Well, now more waiting begins. I satisfy myself with WarioWare, Wii Sports, Tenkaichi Budokai 2, and Red Steel (epic failure) until Metroid Prime 3, Mario Galaxy, and, of course, Brawl come out. ...Metriod Prime 3=Great ...Mario Galaxy=Good, but a little dumbed down and easy ...Brawl=Amazing AH finally! Ok, those are done (as much as you can be 'done' with Brawl)...Now what? Well, lets check into E3. *Crap like Wii Music pops up* Ok... *ANOTHER Animal Crossing* Whatever... "Oh, btw, Mario, Zelda, and Pikmin when we feel like it" ....That's it??? That's ALL? "Oh, and also, gamers aren't are main focus anymore" Wow....was all I could say. After giving a good 14 years of my life to Nintendo, I feel totally shafted. Now when people say Nintendo is kiddy, I have no way to argue. When they say there are no good Wii games, my list isn't very long. What happened Nintendo?
To this day, I still haven't changed this view as the only games I want to buy on the Wii are Castlevania: Judgement, ToS2, and the new Tales of mothership title coming out in the far future.
To add to this though, think of almost every great series out there: it started on a Nintendo system.
