OoC:to the plains we go... >.> finishing the title's name... >.>
Kenshin hadn't spoke the whole way there, even if Katara had said anything. He finally fallen over due to fatigue when they got to the mountain. "Sorry about ditching everybody like, remember we were going to Sacae this whole time." Kenshin looked at what he was wearing "I guess we can ditch this stuff now, even more so since my plan of us being in a group is now moot. Curses to me leaveing too hastly and not grabbing my bag, now I'm stuck in this filth of an excuse of an outfit."
It seemed the more Kenshin was around non Sacaen's he started to dislike them more becuase of the way he was treated. He knew we wasn't acting any better then them but he couldn't help to feel that way.
After resting and eatting Kenshin was ready to go, even though his leg's wasn't. Kenshin started to hike up the mountain.
OoC:Sorry kinda rushed this one, had to do so since I don't know the next time I'll be on.

Katara followed Kenshin. "You should slow down. We've covered a lot of ground in a small amount of time. Take a rest and I'll find something for us to eat," she said, "it's just the two of us out here, and with a military might of a nation like Bern, we'll never make it without proper energy."

Kenshin sat down on a rock "Fine I'll rest only because you advise me to." He looked at Katara. "I'm not sure if I can fight Hanon. Even though she was brung back by Hargus she's still apart of my family but I can't just let her live since she's evil. I'm torn between what to do."

"Do you think I am any different? I'll be right beside you as you fight her. Remember... it is not the true Hannon, just a... pretending spirit that can be bent to Hargus's will..." Katara told Kenshin, sitting down next to him. "You can do this. I believe in you... You could slay a dragon if you wanted to," she added.

"Are you really sure it's not really her? How can we be sure that she was revived and he used a spell to controll her mind, like they did to me. I can barely protect you let alone slay a real dragon." Kenshin then rested his head on Katara's shoulder.

"I... I don't know. But..."Katara trailed off. She was in doubt too. "Then... She'd want to rest again. She'd consider it a favor to kill her," she tried. She ran her fingers through Kenshin's hair, tryoing to find a way to be assured.

"But if she's alive then she'll want to live like the rest of the world." Kenshin felt as if the support Katara was trying to give wansn't working. Trying to liten the mood Kenshin tried to joke around with her. "Good thing you didn't try to rally up you're tribe's people before fighting Bern, I would swear you were trying to crush their moral. Also where's this meal I was promissed?"

"Oh.. right," Katara said, standing up to start a cooking fire. She thought about her tribe. Did they make it safely? Was she right to leave them to follow Kenshin?

As Katara started the fire and to cook Kenshin sat there stareing at her. "I ruined everything for her. She would of been liveing the simple life right now if it wasn't for my lust for revenge. The life of a swordmen don't look like it fit's her. I don't want to just leave her now, I've grown too attached to her. Damn it, only if I was stronger." Kenshin ran his hand across his check, where the scar is.
"This is proof that I'm too weak. It's proof of a loss that I shouldn't of made I was only lucky he spared my life. If I couldn't beat a childhood rivel then how could I beat a man that put's fear into the hearts of all of them bandits. The blade that protects should be able to deflect the attacks of those who intend to harm others. Is it that I'm too weak?"

Katara looked at Kenshin, who was checking his scar. "Is something wrong?" she asked.

"I was thinking." He responded "Thinking about how my lust for revenge ruined your life. I stole you away from your home after you got back, your a murder now since you joined up with us. This scar is a symbel of my weakness, a reminder of how much I'm a failure."

Katara laughed and tossed some food into the boiling water. "You're doing the natural thing: blaming yourself for others' shortcomings," she began, "when if you look at it, I joined because I wanted to. I wanted to make the bandits pay for what they did with my village. I also wanted to live up to my father's and brother's expectation. And your scar shows your passion; that you will fight for what you believe in, no matter the cost to your own self," she finished. "Er- at least that's how I take it. I'm no wise crone, but I hope I've made you feel a bit better," she added.

"Maybe if I was fighting Hargus then that would be true but it came from a battle with a childhood rival. Is proving yourself to your brother and father worth being away from them and risk not seeing them if something happened?" Kenshin took his sword from his waist and set it beside him.

Katara pondered what Kenshin had said for a bit, the spoke, "I... I'm not sure, but, it felt right... to be with you."

Kenshin could tell he upset her by the way she was talking. He got up and walked towards her and put his arms around her. "Thanks for comeing though, I would be very lonely by myself and you're one of the few people I trust to travel with. For a while you've been my guideing light."
