Morning had finally arrived and the company that now consisted of eight people set out and intended to put the bandit keep behind them. As much as Denzel enjoyed the company he was lookig forward to getting back to his duties as a Knight of Laus. His thoughts were already back home as he assembled the horses for those who wanted them and returned to the group.

Aaron, after packing up his various gear, went outside. It was foggy, but not terribly so. Aaron was more concerned with the sky, as it looked like it might start to rain. If it was raining higher up in the mountains then some of the streams and gorges on the mountain could soon be overflowing, creating some difficulties with washed out bridges,or blocked paths. . Hopefully it hadn't, and wouldn't start raining.
Aaron approached the cavalier near the horses. "Good morning, Sir Denzel. Off to Laus now, eh?"Aaron smiled. He was in a bright mood. Life had so many interesting little features to him. Today he was considering rain. How did so much water get up into the sky? And then, why did it fall down? The green-haired mage was always trying to experience and comprehend life's vibrancy. "I don't know about everyone else, but I'm ready to head out." He looked at the horseman and turning somber, continued. "If it rains heavy enough it could knock out or weaken the bridges over any valleys we need to cross."

Selk stepped out of the bandits' former hideout with all his gear in tow and his armor donned. He, too, noticed the look of the sky due to the slight lack of sunlight. He walked over to where he saw Aaron and Sir Denzel chatting. "Morning, fellas. How are you this fine morning?" He had caught the last bit of what Aaron said and swiftly added to his greeting, "I enjoy the rain. Even if it does cause us some problems, I'm sure we can handle it. After all, look what we've been through already. " He smiled as he said that last part.

Yaen stepped out of the hideout and stretched his arms out. Overhearing Selk, the Sacaen nomad smiled. "A little rain won't hurt." he commented. "It may slow us down a little, but thats okay. Its good for the earth and good for the soul." he said, sitting himself atop one of the many large rocks that made up the mountain.

Lilith walked out of the fort, refreshed and ready to take on the world. "Aah, such a beauteous day! What fine fog, like ocean swells of the mountains, the air is to damp and moist, I can almost reach out and grab it!" she said enthusiastically. She twirled about where she stood, and then jumped on to a rock. "It makes climbing more of a challenge, too. The rock are so majestically wet!" she smiled.

As the others began filing out of the fortress that had served for the nights shelter, Aaron turned and greeted them.
"I'm feeling much recovered from yesterday, thats for sure, and it seems that your armor has been repaired as well. I wonder if Wyatt got any sleep at all."
Aaron heard the Sacaen say something about rain being "good for the earth, and good for the soul." Aaron didn't know about good for the soul, but listening to the rain from a front porch was one of his favorite places to read at.
As he watched, Lilith leapt onto a rock nearby. She seemed to genuinely find joy in the natural world. Like her, Aaron reveled in the ways that nature expressed itself.
Someone else who really tries to experience life, Aaron thought to himself. The mage was driven to try to understand the world around him. To experience life to the fullest.

Malachi took in a deep breath of the fresh mist air and exhaled with a smile on his face, "Rains comin'," he said to himself,"It'll nice to feel rain again, I can't imagine how long its been." Malachi looked over to the girl (whom he still didn't know) and gave a confused smile. She sure is... different. Malachi shrugged to himself and walked over to the girl. He came up to the girl, who was about at eye level with her on top of the rock. "Hello, I don't believe we've been introduced. My name is Malachi Zsoldos, knight of Ostia," he said, a slight smile on his face. Though he didn't seem that happy, he was. He was thankful that it was going to rain, it reminded him of his home back in Ilia. The only reason he didn't seem happy was all the people he was around; Malachi wasn't used to being with a group of people so long.

Lilith smiled at the big man who introduced himself as Malachi. "I'm Lilith Degarte, an independent pupil of Elder magic!" she said in a sing-songy voice. She jumped off the rock to find that she had to tilt her head upwards to look him in the eye. "Wow, you sure are tall!" she commented.

Wyatt stifled a yawn as he packed up the last of his belongings and shouldered his pack, he'd stayed up a bit too late fixing up the armor, but it wasn't like he hadn't done that before.
"Yeah, it's a pretty long trip back to Laus, so I suppose we should get started on it. Are you guys gonna come with?" He asked to Aaron and Malachi.
Rain coming eh? That would mean they would have to find some kind of shelter if it came down hard, hopefully only a light shower.
He could pray, walking in the rain was not his idea of a good time.

"I'm definately coming. I don't want to have a run-in with any bandits that escaped yesterday. Besides, I think staying in a city would be nice for a while." Aaron replied to the smith. It's not like I have any destinations in mind at the moment.
Maybe Lilith would know something of magic users in Lycia. Aaron's skills with anima were still was very much a work in progress and he could use help from an advanced teacher. He hadn't worked with anything but fire. Worse, being trained in a non-traditional method, he wasn't very good at learning new elements. The advantage was that every bit of his training was focused on fire. Aaron had effectively mastered most of the many applications that the weaker fire spell was capable of causing.

Wein hobbled out of the hideout and looked around. There was no way he'd be hiking in his shape, and he'd left Albus's horse back on the trail. As he looked to his right, however, where Little John was munching on a patch of grass. He walked up to his horse-on-loan and patted his head. "Good horse," he said, using mostly his arm to pull himself up onto the horse. He struggled a bit, but he didn't want to trouble anyone. If he couldn't even do this, he was nothing but dead weight.
Wein turned towards Wyatt and smiled, waving his hand. "Ho Wyatt," he said cheerfully. He looked up at the sky. "Looks like rain, we better get a move on. Mud could make a trip a little more perilous than it needs to be."

Malachi gave a friendly huff in agreement to Lilith's comment. He looked towards Wyatt as he asked his question. "But of course! Where else would I go?" He said in a friendly voice as he started forward down the road. Once we get to Laus, hopefully some of these people will join me into gong to Etruria. Malachi looked up at the sky and felt a cold, small drop of a liquid hit his cheek.

Wyatt might be bothered by the rain, but a sight before him when he turned the corner seemed more troublesome. There were the bandits from yesterdays battle, and they looked to be torn apart by aninmals, but something was wrong, and Wyatt stopped to think on it.
"Hey Yaen, does that look odd to you?" He said gesturing to the bodies, that looked as though they had been ripped apart. "They attacked, but they didn't drag any meat away back to their homes, it doesn't even look like they ate, they just...tore. I've never known any animal to do that, it looks almost like a person wanted to make sure they were dead..."

Yaen approached the mangled corpses and knelt down beside one."This was no animal." he replied. "Animals only kill when they are hungry or when they feel threatened, and I have not seen a single predator since we came to these mountains." The Sacaen looked around at the bloodied scene. "And from where I'm at, I don't see any paw prints. Do you?" he asked.

Selk had been relatively quiet so far. He simply got a good view of everything around as the rain started. Then, much like Wyatt, his eyes halted on a grim, yet familiar sight. He heard what Wyatt and Yaen had said to one another as well. He stepped forward to get a closer look himself. It seemed that they were correct. But how could this be? Selk remembered the howl from yesterday at their battle's end. That was from an animal, wasn't it?
"If it's not an animal that did it, then what did? Or who? And why?" This brought about many questions, each with it's own terrible answer.
