"I already took you to commander Abend, but at that point we weren't really doing introductions, so..." he rose back up to his full height, but had to reach down just a bit to pat her on the shoulder," Well, let's get going. Do you think you can walk well enough or do you need a hand?"

He called me Clair? Officer's prerogative maybe? Or maybe I'm just worrying too much about being proper? She smiled. It hadn't really sounded that bad to her.
She scrutinized the man Richter had thumbed towards. She couldn't see any scales, or wings, or teeth to tear up children with, but she did recall something about the dragon turning into a man. "A dragon..." Her breath caught a bit at the unrealness of standing so close to a legendary creaature. "I don't normally think of recruitment and hostage as relating in that sense, Commander." She heard the part about Illia and was glad that for the time being, at least, her country would stay out of the conflicts. Now if only her family would too.
She wanted to talk with the dragon some- How many people really got that chance, after all.- but her duty came first. She looked towards Adete, recalling their discourse on the way back to the army.
"He seems to be just what he looks like. Just a bard, traveling to gain experience. He requested to speak to some kind of authority about joining, but seemed a bit troubled when I asked him about his reasons for wanting to join up with the army. Like something was hurting him... He said he'd come from Salvation point, and that his name was Adete Eratodom," Here Clair somehow managed to remember the names of the young man's parents. "son of Legroal Eratodom, and Killieh Makarn."
Clair's brow furrowed as she said the name. It sounded vaguely familiar. Had she heard it somewhere before?

Richter smirked. It's true, recruit and hostage did imply two totally different things. "Ariston may enjoy taking a dragon hostage, but he's my ally," he replied to his Assistant Officer. Ariston probably got quite a bit of joy out of knowing that he controlled the fate of a dragon. Richter would see that the dragon's fate rest in his own hands. As much as the prospect of a dragon on his side excited him, the High Officer was no fool. He wouldn't give Marcus back his stone, only to have the dragon butcher him on the spot. He'd need to make sure that didn't happen before the dragon got his stone back. "In that sense he's both."
Richter let Clair fill him in on the bard. Compared to the prodigious occasion that had just occured, the High Officer's interest in the traveling flute player was little. That was until Clair revealed the man's parentage. "Makarn?" said Richter aloud, echoing Clair. He approached Adete. "Your mother's name is Makarn?" asked Richter, not really bothering to introduce himself. "Do you know a Theian G. Makarn?"

"No, I think I will be okay. You've been more than helpful at the moment." She smiled at Lyar before walking stupidly towards the grouping of people. Love was going to meet them all.
She decided to ignore the speaking few. They looked like they were in quite an important conversation and she really didn't want to get in their way. Love didn't want to go see Mavick either. It would seem strange. She would get to know him later.
It seemed rather there wouldn't be anyone available at the moment. She could go explore and mingle with the other shamans, but did not want to seem obsessive. No. She would stand here and wait. Wait until someone came to her, noticed her or if she got too tired and retreated back to find Lyar or introduce herself to Mavick.

Ever since the man stepped off the wyvern, in fact even a good deal before they touched down, Elias was uncharacteristically silent. He barely moved, or even seemed to acknowledge the world around him. He stood there as his partner not only introduced him, but proceeded to do all the work in the task of delivering the message. It was as if he was completely removed from the entire situation, as if he was separated by some contrived coincidence that would send another man raging in anger.
Everything happened around him and he didn't acknowledge a thing, the dragon, the Officer, the injured girl, and even the bard guy man. This wasn't because he didn't care, no these were awesome cool things that he would totally care about otherwise, seriously. The real truth of it wasn't that he didn't care, or his soul left his body an inactive husk who could do a single thing, but rather he chose to be this way on purpose.
He focused everything he had, every spare reserve of his near endless energy into one task and one task only. One that overrode his ability to even react or notice things properly. That was to be silent.
Yes, perfectly silent. The quietest of rogue assassins, a true quietclasm of epic proportions. It worked too, no one ever noticed he was there. Outside of a few looks when he landed, everyone's gazes were drawn other, much more interesting, places. The dragon was all OH MY A DRAGON and that was so much more interesting then a guy who's only noticeably quality is the fact he looks like a solid block of red.
When this was over, he was so going to rub it into Kyro's face. He's all talking and stuff, while Elias was being super mega quiet!

Marcus looked away from Richter and noticed that one of the Assistant Officers was giving him a look of suspicion. Not wanting to be judged unfairly, he excused himself from Richter's presence and strolled over to introduce himself.
As he approached, he smiled a little to appear friendly. Extending his hand, he said, "Greetings, my name is Marcus Fireheart. I'm the new captive," he said, chuckling a little.

Theian! That's where she'd heard the name before! Was Adete related to that money-loving myrmidon? Maybe there was family living in the area. That could explain the coincidence.
As Richter moved over to talk to Adete, the dragon-man casually came up to Clair and introduced himself, chuckling a bit.
"Greetings, my name is Marcus Fireheart. I'm the new captive."
Clair looked at the proffered hand for a moment, wondering if it really would be safe to touch a dragon. Or even be near a dragon. Hadn't they been danger and destruction personified in the ancient war? Still, The Commander had said he was an ally, so she decided she would need to overcome her apprehension at having a dragon around. Tentatively, she shook his hand.
"Marcus..." She tested the name he gave. "So I heard....I'm Clair Feldsky, Assistant Officer to High Officer Abend." She looked up at the man towering over her. He was nearly as large as Commander Richter. This was pretty incredible... A dragon.
"Do you... Can you fly?" She wasn't really thinking much about the politeness of launching into a flurry of questions. She was still trying to come to terms with being this near something this notorious.

The officer shook his hand tentatively, and asked him a question "Can I fly?" he said. "You tell me," he said shrugging so that the cloth that held his wings in his robes released his wings. He shook them a little, and stretched them. His wings got very sore in his robes. "I can't get very far in this form, but when I'm in my true form, I can get from Ostia to Laus in no time at all. Of course, people see a dragon and immediately want to kill it, usually with fire. If you've got any more questions, feel free to ask. I've got nothing better to do," he said, giving a calm smirk.

Such a quiet man! Love had already noticed the fiery dressed young man standing alone, for she herself was doing to same and was getting lost in the commotion. Smiling gingerly she hopped (well more like walked slowly and carefully) over to the nearly motionless man. It was a surprising scene because Love rarely approached a gentleman by herself - it was usually they coming and forcing her to reply - but she felt better with other magic users and unlike the child and the uneven hidden shaman, this man was clearly a more ... approachable figure, for he looked like a calm person who wouldn't easily frighten her.
Soon she was only a few feet away, staring curiously at the frozen figure unable to speak first. Instead she too stood still and silent, eyes wide and staring straight. Yes it was an awkward moment for sure.
And then she attempted something. Taking a deep breath she let out a few coughs that sounded like she was dying [goodness, Love was trying a lot of tactics for gathering attention today] she then clutched her chest and bent over with one eye open slightly looking at him (Elias). Nobody could just stand there and let a woman cough up a storm like that right? Sooner or later he was going to move.

Silent, he was as silent as the night, once all the crickets were dealt with of course. His mouth remained closed and his eyes were transfixed on some random spot ahead of him that contained nothing of interest. This was Sacae after all, and his dad was right about this place. Way too much plains, it was really boring to look at. Maybe Bern will be cool with all it's mountains? Mountains were awesome! He really wanted to see one in person one day. He wanted to climb it himself, he wanted to see the sea too. He wanted to take his shoes off and swim in the water, that would be seriously awesome. He was stuck in that little village his entire life, and while there was a nearby forest it didn't do much for his natural curiosity. You can kidnap your neighbor's chickens only so many times before it gets boring... also because he threatened to hit him in the face with an axe if he even went around the chicken coop again.
Still Elias stayed silent, oblivious, and totally ignored the half dead girl staring at him like one of those really creepy dolls they make.

More coughing. Love was close to barfing now. Any more and she was going to cough her liver up or something. This was not working. Either that man was hexed, cursed or just really really tired. She was going to have to do something else.
Standing straight as if she had not meant anything with her giant cough session, Love walked with her chin high in the air, passing the guy before "tripping" and falling to her side. How fortunate was that there was someone to her right and that she had fallen to her right side. Making no attempt to stop herself, Love collided onto his side, leaning there and pretending to be shocked and breathing heavily.
It was like physical contact...with not wanting it. Nobody could ignore this. A girl who had just fallen...

Quiet. He was truly the best ever messenger ever in the history of forever. He was like the silent messenger King, he never had an opinion or a witty retort. He didn't snicker or anything like that, something a failure of a messenger would do. No, he was incredible! The Crimson Messenger! Delivering mail across Elibe and claiming the hearts of everyone with his burning indifference!
Then someone tackled him.
He noticed it and cursed in his own mind. Fiddlesticks! My concentration! I'll never be The Crimson Messenger! at this rate. He ignored the culprit, as they weren't part of the messenger job thing and resteeled his concentration, shutting off existence again.

If it was possible then Love could have totally dropped right about now. She stood, or rather leaned there for at least 30 seconds before speaking, "Are you going to ignore me forever or something?" Then deciding the answer was yes, she changed her approach once again.
S.l.o.w.l.y. getting off the poor guy, she stood in front of him once again, admiring his determination. Too bad she was going to break through it and introduce herself properly no matter what.
Smiling sweetly, she then sat down beside him and blinked for a few seconds. And then it began.
"LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA" A series of extremely loud and extremely offtune Las came out of the girl's mouth. She was trying to sing along very badly to the background music that was so helpfully played by the bard.
Increasing her voice even more she then went full blast. "OH!!!!!!!!!!!!! How I LOVE to Sing-e-e-ing" At the "sing" she faked a high note that sounded more like a cat howling. Some people's ears may have been broken but...

SILENCE.
The song pierced his veil of ignorance and exclusion. Mostly because she hit just the right note, like when a really bad singer sings really loud and breaks a glass in all those kid stories? Except in this case it was a little girl and his psyche was the glass.
Still, he stayed silent. A stoic quiet person who didn't talk much. He was so quiet, that quiet seemed loud in comparison. Well it would be hard to compare right now since it was anything but quiet, still...
He stared straight ahead, listening to bad music, and stayed the quietest person ever like he promised Kyro he'd be.

Clair watched as Marcus shook his wings loose from his robes. Sturdy looking black and green wings rose from his back. The sight was an incredible thing to behold. Here she was, yet again, experiencing things that few would be able to talk about. Marvelous.
Looks like dragons were more then just mighty. From what Marcus was saying, they were also swift beyond the speed of wyverns and pegasi. Clair was getting more , and apprehensive at having such a deadly force around, but also was remembering that he was an ally now. It was all pretty unbelievable. In addition, he'd essentially just given her free license to ask all the questions she could think of...
Can you really breath fire? How big are you in dragon form? Where did you come from? Are there others? How old are you? Were you alive during the scouring?
She took a breath and stepped back a step, deciding that babbling out all her many questions wouldn't convey the type of image that she was trying to cultivate. Instead, she tried to think of a constructive question to ask.
She couldn't really think of any good questions to ask right then, so instead, she just decided to try to reassure him some. She made a conscious effort to adopt a more confident tone as she talked to the dragon. "You do have wings...I'm sorry. I'm just not used to having a..." She looked away for a moment, composing herself again, "The High Officer will speak for you." And likely a whole lot more. "Don't worry, he's good at his job. He'll get you released somehow, I'm sure...."
Clair had originally intended to continue, but found herself rather distracted by someone's singing, or rather, attempt at singing. She looked around and saw the Wyvern messenger with Arriston. Nearby was a rather red looking young man, dressed in red. He looked like he was a completely empty husk, that there was no life in him at all, a painted statue... Near him was a girl that Clair hadn't seen before, screeching her heart out to Adete's faltering tune. Perhaps he was finishing up now that Someone had addressed him. She hoped so for his sake.
