Tionne stood staring at a crossroad, the sign post pointing towards two seperate paths that were nowhere near accurate enough to match his map. Staring at said map, he now noticed the forgery mark on the top left corner of the parchment. Screaming at the top of his lungs, Tionne threw the piece of paper to the ground and stomped on it. "Oh, this is just perfect! I help a poor soul in need, buy a map from her, then get lost in the woods, find my way back, only to realize that the map is a fake!" Sitting down after his rant, Tionne drew in a deep breath and meditated on the matter. What would the Bishop say if he saw me like this? He'd scold me for being stupid enough not to recognize a scam, that's for sure... Sighing, he stood up, brushed off the dirt from his habit, and walked towards what he hoped was the right way back to town.

After stumbling through enough underbrush to scratch his face, Tionne walked into a clearing he definitely didn't remember. Sitting down, he took a few breaths to calm his nerves until he heard a sound that was suspisciously similar to a snapped twig. Whirling around, Tionne saw two thieves chuckling at his expression of pure exasperation. "Well, well. Seems that sis' was right, eh, Yurk?" the first thief asked her assosciate. The second one, Yurk apparently, chortled slightly. "Oh, yes. I'm sure he has plenty of gold we can steal." Giving them both a look that, he was sure, showed how tired of this he was. "That's the straw that breaks my back! I've been wandering around for two hours, and then I get lost! Now, I'm about to seriously waste my time on you two simpletons!" Grabbing his book, he flipped through until he found the spell he wanted. Intoning the words, he threw a small orb of light that blinded them both; when he was sure they were blind enough for him to escape, Tionne ran like he never had before. After half an hour, he had gotten even more lost, but had given the two thieves the slips at least.
(OOC: I just used a page from my book. How do you, like, mention that when you need to basically put that in your signature? I'm just gonna mention it here, so there.)

Tionne huffed and panted as he trudged back to the crossroads and the sign post. After it became apparent he was just going around in circles, Tionne decided it was better to just keep doing that. When he saw the names of the villages the signs pointed to, he winced; one was nearly twenty miles from the small forest he was lost in, and the other was a half a day's journey, and that was with a horse! Taking out a coin, he flipped and picked tails for the twenty mile walk. Tails. Sighing, Tionne took the left path and prayed the the Saint would help him move past this trial.

Tionne trudged into the small village the road sign had indicated, and was shocked to see a ramshackled place that looked, almost quite literally, on the brink of collapse. Heading for a young woman walking by, he asked "Why is this town so run down when everywhere else seems so lively?" The woman looked around, then whispered "Because the bandits that attack us weekly are destroying our livelyhood. We have barely any gold or food left for ourselves." Baffled, Tionne thanked her and walked off, puzzling over the problem continously.

Walking into the only inn within sight, Tionne saw that he was definitely going to have to be careful here. Nearly all the people in the pub area were eying his clothes and his tome like a hawk eyes his fish. Heading to the bar, he ordered a rice wine before turning towards the bulletin board, which happened to have a wanted poster for nearly all the patrons in the bar.

OoC: Hope you don't mind, but you looked like you needed someone to rp with.
BiC: Ever since the lightly robed man walked in, Shadow kept an eye on him, and every other beggar in the room. He leaned against a chair in a dark corner of the room, not being seen easily. His dark hood covered his entire face, due to the exaggerated veil of darkness created by the absence of light. Shadow's bony and pale hands were hidden in the folds of his cloak, which covered his entire figure. It seemed that almost everyone did not even recognize his very existence. It was surprising to the dark mage how he could remember those he had abandoned quite some time ago. The exact days were not known, but he had a few misadventures of his own. Somehow, the shaman had avoided almost complete human contact. Still, those were only memories that had past.
To make things clear for Shadow, he began to assess the situation. Now, with the monk in the room, things were becoming tense. There were eight people in total. Five of them were spread out, looking over the monk, and seemingly prepared to kill for pleasure or sport. The bartender, who was going to the back for whatever reason, was one of the eight people. The other two were the monk and himself.
Instead of being the first to respond directly to the lightly robed man, Shadow decided to hang back. He would wait for others to make some kind of contact with the monk. Then, the dark mage would act. While he knew that monks and shamans were practically opposites that did not mean that there was no kinship in magic. Besides, everyone else in the room probably were too uneducated to read.

OOC: I don't mind at all; i was hoping someone would help out a little, anyways.
BIC: Tionne knew he was the center of attention, and cursed his foolishness. Entering a village where bandits attacked, a pub where everyone is wanted for some crime or other, then he goes to a corner. Really, how dumb could he be? Feeling a pair of eyes that weren't really malevolent, he shifted slightly to see a dark-robed figure staring in his direction. After processing what he could see and discern, the figure was obviously a shaman. Groaning, he hoped that the fellow magic wielder would help him.

Oh no. Oh crap, he's staring this way. Well, I'd better to do something about this.
The darkly garbed man did not want to be the first to move. He hated it, knowing that all would have their eyes on him, and the monk. Besides, it was never a common thing for the shaman to be near the monks, or other members of the clergy. Still, he did not deserve to die. Not like the rest that were in the room.
Silently, the dark mage rose from his chair. For a moment, he stood where he was, not moving. All he did was stare at the holy man. Then, he took a step forward. After that, another followed from his opposite foot. Each step was silent and carefully planned. While he slowly stepped closer to the monk, Shadow slipped his left hand inside his cloak. Gently, he felt the rim of his dark tome, Flux. He was thinking of using his special tome, but it wasn't worth it. These were just common thieves, who happened to have their names on a few flimsy pieces of paper in this single town.
Once Shadow was four feet away from the nervous monk, he stopped. The shaman's hood only revealed the lower half of his face. His eyes and hair were unseen in the darkness of his garb. The dark mage was very intimidating, and the rest of the bandits knew so. They watched him facing the lightly clothed man, in earnest. Even with his very serious face, Shadow was chuckling on the inside. Those stupid men of thievery had no idea the pain they would soon experience.

Tionne gulped a large amount of air into his lungs before whispering "If you are here to kill me, then do it fast. I fear that the filth around us is getting too interested in our conversation." Pausing, he took a deep breath and spoke a little louder, but not loud enough for everyone to hear. "However, if you aren't going to kill me, then let's kick some serious a** and get out of here quickly." Grabbing his Light tome, Tionne fingered a page before tossing a bundle of light into the air to blind the bandits and theives around him.
(OOC: Again, used a page from my book.)

The dark mage had remained silent when the monk first spoke. His words were of horror, and they almost disheartened him. Still, Shadow knew the monk did not know who he was, or what a darkly clothed man would want. So he had waited for more to be said.
Shadow did hear the monk correctly, but it did take him a moment to react. To see a man of the clergy suddenly start fighting, and also cuss, was very interesting. Watching this behavior for a split second was baffling. Then, a crazed smile spread across the shaman's face, and the dark humor that Shadow possessed became apparent, as he began to laugh.
Swiftly, the dark mage pulled out his Flux tome. He flipped through the pages with a quick motion, and forced his hand outward. In his path was a thief who was caught off-guard. From the floor, a surge of darkness punched into the thief, sending him flying into the air. He landed on the left side of the table, having him roll hard onto the ground. A groan of pain arose from the wounded thief. Things just got very interesting for the shaman.

Tionne expected the shaman to attack him as well, but when he attacked one of the thieves, he sighed in relief before his Light spell wore off in the air. Flipping through it some more, he aimed the spell at one of the bandits trying to sneak up on the shaman; after he was blinded, he gathered some strength and cast a Light once more at the bandits. Smiling, he stepped back as two of bandits crashed into each other.
Seeing the shaman fight was almost as odd as seeing a dog walk on his hindlegs; normally, shamans and clergymen shunned one another like they each had the plague or leprosy. But, he felt it was plain silly to hate another person just because they used a different type of magic than the one a priest used.

The shaman kept his evil grin on his face, as he began to make his own battle configurations. He knew that two were just wounded, one by the monk and the other by himself. As he looked around some more, he saw three more. Two of those three crashed into each other, leaving them stunned. Finally, there was one who hadn't even reacted. All he did was continue to be seated. That thief stared in dismay at what had just occurred.
Still, there was still business to be done. Shadow decided to put the shocked thug out of his misery. He skimmed the pages of Flux, and sent forth a dark sphere from his hand. This attack was new for Shadow, being that he had been experimenting on his own. Even with the effective results from the attack, as seen by the now bleeding thief, it did not kill him. Shadow finished the job by repeating his previous technique. Perfection. One down, four to go.
Instead of continuing the fray, Shadow decided to actually speak to the monk. Being that the man had earned some respect from the shaman, he decided to converse. He spoke in his darker voice, being that they were still battling. "Well well, I like you, monk. I really do. Care to tell me your name?"

After being startled by the dark voice emanating from the hood, Tionne turned to say "Tionne. And yours?" was all he got out before one of the thieves got up and rushed him; getting thrown against the counter, the monk cried out in pain. After deciding to try something new, Tionne rose a barrier around him and the shaman, hoping he could hold it for a few minutes.
OOC: I forgot to mention the previous two pages, so I'm just gonna mention them now along with the barrier trick. that makes three pages in total.

After raising the barriers, Tionne saw a thief and a bandit both rush at the wall of light, but bounce off like a rubber ball. The bandit got up, looked at him and gave an evil grin. "That little trick won't hold me out forever, monk." he growled out, before unleashing a barrage of attacks on his wall. Each attack bounced off his barrier, but after a while it started to crack and have small chips fall out. Tionne knew it was only a matter of time before something bad happened, so he prayed that he was able to make a quick getaway before the barrier collapsed.

Instead of replying so soon to Tionne, the dark mage waited. He silently inspected the barrier that the monk had brought up. This is impressive. He used his offensive magic and materialized it into a solid form. Such a defense seems to be rather effective. Still, the magic is somewhat compromised of his own prowess. We'll just see how strong you are, Tionne.
As Shadow waited, he watched the bandits. He saw as one attempted to talk to Tionne. However, the other two behind him did not possess the foolish courage that he did. The other three seemed to feel Shadow's icy stare from under his hood. Still, the attacking bandit continued his slashes and lunges at the light barrier. Each blow was a decrease in its power. Soon, it would fall. While the lead thief believed he had the upper advantage, it was clear otherwise. Shadow lightly tapped on his dark tome that he held, ever so patiently.
Then, it happened. The thief broke through, shattering the light fragments. As they fell, they seemed to fade into nothing, leaving what looked like dust. With an evil grin, the thief took a step forward. He stopped as a chilled voice cut through to the bandit. "Be consumed... by darkness!"
The thief then abruptly flew ten feet back, having a dark sphere sear into his chest. Before the evildoer hit the ground, he had died from the damage to his lungs. At the same time, two of the other bandits that were his by the rapid object of a human being, and were also sent to the ground. They groaned in pain as they clung to where they were wounded on their bodies. The last, which seemed to have been wounded before, wasn't sure what to do. He simply stared the two magic-wielders in sheer horror.
All Shadow did was keep a frightening smile on his face, as he stared back at the bandit. However, the dark mage did not attack. In his mind, a justice was being served to those ruffians of the dagger. Still, he waited for Tionne's response to his actions.
