Jade was still trying to eat when that strange guy with the strange purple... hair..? walked in. Jade almost choked on his food, laughing at the stranger and deciding he'd better not stay in the room any further before he died of laughter, left the dining room with Gabriel, following a few steps behind.

Sabin saw a red haired man walking out of the door..... Sabin decided to follow that man. Something was suspicious about him.... could he be in charge of a particular group or something? Sabin decided to check him out.....
The man headed for the stables, and Sabin saw his face. He looked rather worried. It probably was not surprising, a least to Sabin. The army was probably getting ready for a highly dangerous mission. It was not surprising to see the soldier scared... if they would ever return home safely. Sabin watched as the red-haired man walked towards his horse, telling it, "I suppose I can do no other thing now, right Starlight?"
He watched as the horse followed the man around the ranch, everything was quiet. Sabin thought it would be the best time to talk to this person. To see if he could try to get him hired.
"Um.... sorry sir, if I have been disturbing your time alone. Does your army need.... an extra soldier? I'm a wandering mercenary... wanting to be hired." he said. He needed to be as polite as he could be with these guys, although that was his weakness.

Mernatel had finished eating before the purple haired hunter walked into the room. He had gone to his room and grabbed his lance. He had decided to do a bit of practacing. He neeed to do it all fully armored with the vision he would need in battle, so he put on his helmet.
He walked to the training ground and found the largest dummy he could. He took his stance holding his (Is the breastplate a sheild like in the game?) lance. But then he realized he wasn'tin the thirty third any more. He was alone with no formation to be a part of.
So he gathered himself and rammed into the dummy with his shoulder. He jumped back as fast as he could in his heavy armor. He twirled his lance, hitting the dummy where a tall man's chin would be with the butt of it. THe he caught the shaft and stabbed through the dummies stomach. Then he ripped up, suprising himself as he pulled the dummy post and all out of the ground.
Mernatel saw Gabriel walk to his horse so he looked at the mauled dummy, and decided to walk over. Before he got there a man walked over and talked to Gabriel about his services. Mernatel decided to wait, putting his lance across his shoulders, behind his head restin his arms on each side of the shaft.

Gabriel saw that Jade has been following him and was about to turn around to talk to the guy when a man approached them from the side. Gabriel stood silent as the man spoke, ready to attack in any moment. He had never seen the man and he was obviously not part of Rayl's new little army.
"A mercenary? We could always use the extra man power, but I'm afraid I'm in no condition to pay you a salary. You should speak with Sir Rayl over there in the dinning room" he said, pointing towards the wide open door on the side of the estate. The place was cluttered, which meant that every single door and window were open.
He had noticed the knight who had previously introduced himself while they were eating standing nearby. "Yes, Mernatel, do you need anything?" he asked, moving his gaze back and forth between the newly-come, Jade and Mernatel.

Rayl gave Aaron a nod, and sat himself down to (finally get to) his (cooled down) breakfast. while he was eating, he listened to the excited Grayson, and stopped as he was about to take another bite out of his eggs," Mmph he thmmph mpph Immph on's mmmph shmmpph?"
he promptly closed his mouth and swallowed his food," Was he the man who's shoulder I fell asleep on? If so he's a good man: especially since he didn't say anything to the others. It's harder than it looks sitting in one place listening to long winding speeches!" a plate was brought out to the man with the oddly shaped purple hat- err, hair, as Rayl continued eating, looking over for a moment to Guinevere...and promptly started eating slower...and more formally.
...what? He still had to talk to Gabriel, so naturally he was trying to finish all his (now cold) food! Once done however, he rose to his feet and pardoned himself between the three people (Grayon, Guinevere, and Aaron) and exited the Estate, and was promptly tackled to the ground by the winged beast that was Fang, who proceeded to lick him voraciously to try and claim whatever food the scent was, though soon gave up and made it's way to one of the windows of the estate, workers casually looking as the beast reached it's long neck inside...
...and ate the food that was dished out for Grayson, before departing back out...but fret not, man of the Purple Pompadour: your new plate is coming soon to a table near you.

As Grayson bounced up and down excitedly, Rayl walked to his table and sat down. Grayson was a bit perturbed by the knight's silence, but it was soon apparent that he was hungry by the way he brazenly gobbled up is breakfast. Rayl then spoke to Grayson in response to his outburst.
" Mmph he thmmph mpph Immph on's mmmph shmmpph?" the knight said with a mouthful of food. Bits of egg and bacon fell back on to his plate as he swallowed his food and spoke again, " Was he the man who's shoulder I fell asleep on? If so he's a good man: especially since he didn't say anything the others. It's harder than it looks sitting in one place listening to long winding speeches!"
Before Grayson could mention that his father had said something like that, Rayl left the dining hall. A bit disappointed that he didn't get to speak to him longer, Grayson sat down at the table with the girl and the scholarly looking man and prepared to eat his fill. Unfortunately, as suddenly as Rayl had left, the head of the winged beast Grayson had spied earlier this morning whipped into the room through an open window and snapped up Grayson's food. Grayson let out a loud yelp from the surprise, but was suddenly giddy again as soon as he noticed what it was that ate his breakfast.
"You! You're the creature I saw earlier! Oh, what a magnificent beast you are!" he turned to the scholarly man at the table, "Um, you there! You look knowledgeable. What is this beast, exactly?" Grayson's mind had completely turned to the beast and had forgotten his hunger. Even as a new plate was placed in front of him, he continued to ponder what it was that ate his previous one.

Mernatel whipped his lance around so that he held it normal. He dug the butt of it into the ground. As Gabriel asked him if e needed anything, he figured it would probably be best not to say that he didn't want to be exempt from any possible war council.
So he said, " I was wondering Sir Gabriel. since I'm not very battle hardened solo. How close would I have to get to a mage to make his/her magic irrelevant?"

"Oh. Details on how to deal with magic users. Well, it'd kind of a gray area, really. There's lots of different types of magic, and they have different average ranges. Someone could hit you as far as a mountain away with something like a Bolting spellbook. At that distance, though, chances are he'll miss, but still." Gabriel said, thinking about how his encounters with non-magic users had been.
"Your best bet is keeping up close. We need to concentrate to cast spells, and it's not an easy thing to do with a sword or lance inches away from your body."
"Still, it's not like we're not prepared for that, so be careful. A full force attack from such a distance would most likely kill you too" Gabriel added before a loud sound made him turn his head towards the estate.
Fang almost literally crushed Rayl with all of it's weight. The Paladin was alright, though. He even seemed used to it. "About time, Rayl" Gabriel said once the Paladin had managed to get on his feet and closer to the group.

Guinevere finished up her breakfast after a few minutes and quietly excused herself from the table. It was a little overwhelming. Sure she was used to being a soldier and being around all kinds of people, but this was different. They weren't all soldiers here, fighting as one unit. They were all types of fighters from all over. It made her... uneasy.
Perhaps it was her fear that they might find out her Etrurian origins and force her to leave or worse. She sighed as she walked outside and spotted Rayl with a little group. A smile tugged on the corner of her lips, but she didn't go over to him. He was busy right now, and it wasn't her place. She was a soldier, not a strategist. In the meanwhile, Gwen wandered over to a nearby fence and leaned on it. This really was a beautiful land. She watched Rayl's various animals go by, and even some people in the distance. But after a while, her mind started to wander too. And she wasn't thinking about the horses.

Aaron kept on leisurely eating while marveling at just how much Rayl seemed to break the sterotype of arrogant noble. And off they went. Most everyone he'd be traveling with. Aaron didn't bother to stifle his laughter at seeing Grayson's food gobbled up by the wyvern. It wasn't the laughter of scorn though, so much as laughter of peace, and contentment. Joy even.
"That, would be a wyvern, a small cousin of the dragons, it's said." Aaron wondered what the story behind it being on Rayl's ranch could be, while he spoke. "There best known as creatures of Bern, where the mountains give them places to shelter, but aparently not all of them settle there."
Aaron stuck out his hand, putting aside his thoughts on the man's strange hair-do. "You're Grayson, yes? I'm called Aaron. I've been tagging along for a with a part of this group for a time, and have nothing better to be doing." Actually, this is probably the best place I could be right now. He thought to himself, after a moment.

When Sir Rayl and the weird stiff knight had appeared, Jade decided to take it easy for a moment and hang back while most of the conversations between Sir Rayl and Gabriel went on.
Curious as he was about the party's motives and their next steps, Jade knew that it probably was rude to interrupt a possible war council between some of their highest ranked members/generals.
Instead, Jade went to sit somewhere nearby, signaling for the weird knight to follow him. "It might probably not be best to interrupt their council, Sir Weird Knight."

After getting up from the Wyvern encounter, shaking his head and smirking that the fact that the winged beast had apparently picked up it's mannerisms from a certain dog whom, at this current moment, was pestering a certain purple pompadour donning bowman, sitting at the side of their leg awaiting scraps: despite having filled it's stomach the same way from various other soldiers.
Upon reaching Gabriel, he gave a respectful nod to the two departing, and turned his attention back to the Mage," I'm sorry for the delays but, well..." he couldn't find a way to really say it, and instead waved a dismissive hand through the air,"We have important matters to discuss, so tell me more of your plan, Sir Gabriel."

"That, would be a wyvern, a small cousin of the dragons, it's said." The man in robes responded. Grayson marveled at the thought. Dragons! He'd only heard of them in stories and now he was witnessing their close relative! Leaving the manor the the greatest idea he ever had, "There best known as creatures of Bern, where the mountains give them places to shelter, but aparently not all of them settle there."
Grayson was finally able to concentrate on his food now that he had been informed of the creature's origins. However, as he was just about to take a bite of his eggs, high-pitched whining was heard from the floor to the left of him. Peering down towards the sound, Grayson noticed a rather hungry looking dog begging for his food. Grayson let out a sigh and dumped half of his plate onto the floor. The mutt happily ate the eggs and two strips of bacon that landed in front of it. Grayson returned to his plate and finished the remaining food. Still hungry, he reached for one of the biscuits his mother packed him. The educated man spoke again as he munched on the snack.
"You're Grayson, yes? I'm called Aaron. I've been tagging along for a with a part of this group for a time, and have nothing better to be doing." Grayson was a bit perturbed that this man was interrupting his meal, but he was trying to learn to be more tolerable of others. He swallowed his bite of the biscuit and responded.
"Well it is very nice to meet you, Aaron. What do you do in this army, exactly? Judging by your looks I would imagine a tactician of sorts?" Grayson leaned back in his chair, now realizing he hadn't taken his bow off of his back as it's string stretched across his chest. The resistance from the bowstring nearly launched him into the table, but Grayson was able to catch himself in time. He recomposed himself and spoke again.
"Um... anyway, I once sat in on one of my father's meetings and they went over tactics for the war five years ago. It was utterly fascinating! Do you do that kind of thing? I would love to be involved in something like that. Maybe even be in the archer line! Well I suppose I have some practicing to do before I'm any good at archery, but one day!"

"Meet Sir Rayl? Ok sure I-" he said before something happened.
A huge wyvern just swooped down on a blue knight coming out of his house. The wyvern started licking the young knight, and Sabin quickly recognized him as Rayl. And as Rayl was coming this way, Sabin decided he would have to step aside, as Tayl seemed to be busy with another conversation.
" I'll leave you two alone then? Also Sir Rayl, I'm a mercenary open for hiring... I'd like to talk to you when you're free." he said, and walked towards the wyvern, which was now near a purple haired fellow.

"It's okay, Rayl. And drop the formalities. If anything, I should treat you that way" Gabriel said.
"As for the plan, all I know is that a rebellion has started over in Bern. Different groups have risen to try and get rid of the Ilian governors. Apparently they believe that they can hold themselves without Ilia's help, but they decided to make it a point by force, for whatever reason."
"The marquess himself said he knew not more than that, and practically gave me total control of the mission. I still can't figure out why. He didn't even give me a clear order. He just asked me to 'help'. He didn't even say who he wanted us to help." Gabriel continued, showing concern.
"That's why I needed to talk to you. We won't really be able to make a decision until we see the state of things over there, but who do you think we should help? Ilia, so that they stay in charge of Bern, or the rebellious groups so that they can show whether they can run their country or not?"
