OoC: Mernatel Glutton much!
BiC: Jade's eyes started to tear up slowly as Gabriel spoke abouthis parents. Jade quickly looked down to hide the fact that his tears were coming out again, and when Gabriel had paused in his words, Jade hurriedly wiped his tears away and looked up with a bit of a smile on his face to show that he was strong, although mentally, he was weak.
"Thank you. I heard that we're going to Bern right? There may be some news from a relative of ours there... I just wish to follow and help out so I can try finding this relative there also... Is that... okay..?" Jade asked, his voice quavering a little as he spoke, as if threatening to show how weak he was emotionally. However, Jade quelled his voice and said, "I'm fine... Don't worry." as if purposely going against his feelings.

Aaron sat back, and let the proceedings take place. He nodded, good morning to Mernatel when he came over and joined them. A mere moment later some breakfast was brought over to them, and the Green-headed mage began to idly fold a piece of toast over, and lift place some sausage, and egg into it.
After munching through about half of his sandwich, Aaron leaned back in his chair, and looked across the table to Gabriel. "I can look for them. And Jade's relative. And anyone else who may be able to help us. Finding more allies can't hurt." Aaron leaned forward again, and took a drink from his mug. He wasn't trying to present the sophisticated appearance of a mage just now. That was something he'd begun to weary of.
"For now though, it seems the only road worth traveling leads to Bern."
His purposes for the search was mixed. Meeting with Count Reglay, and/or other notable figures sounded like a good thing for Aaron's experience. He'd been charged to travel, and fine tune his skills, while seeing the world as the next bit of his training. Another reason was just what he'd said. If he could sway more people about the threat that Kraft posed, then that could help unite them with Lycia. Lastly, Jade had reminded Aaron of himself a bit, despite their differences, he'd felt a kindred spirit in the lad.

Mernatel realized how bad he was at introductions. He had this red haired Mage as a general and the man didn't know his name. He stood up saluting. Once again bad at introductions, he hadn't finished his bacon and eggs yet.
He kept his salute up, as he finished swallowing. When his mouth was empty so was his head of things to say. After a second he came up with what should be sufficient. He said to the man, "Hello lord Gabriel. I apologize for interrupting. I am Mernatel Cinderfelt. Sir Rayl said that I would serve with you as we go through the chaos that is The Rebellion.
If I am not too out of my place as a simple soldier, I would like to make a suggestion. I believe a large problem is that we need a larger cavalry. I believe you might be able to persuade Sir Rayl, commander of the Golden Lance Division of Pherae if I'm not mistaken, to lend us a certain amount of aid." he sortof awkwardly let his salut down and rested his weight on the table.

"It was my intention to find them too, if possible. An ex-Mage that happened to be the best in Etruria before Kraft took over, and his, as far as I know, equally skilled wife would be a great addition to our cause" Gabriel said, starting to eat his breakfast. "What I meant was, we make no promises that we'll find them, and they are still secondary to our mission of helping Bern."
He hadn't minded the blue-haired soldier sitting next to them mid-conversation. He was sure he had seen the man...maybe near Morgoth before? Either way, he was sure that whoever he was, he was part of their forces. And there weren't any other free tables before, so this would be the only table left for anyone to sit at. Once the man saluted, though, Gabriel outstretched his hand.
"Pleased to meet you, Sir Mernatel Cinderfelt. And Sir Rayl and I appreciate any suggestion, no matter who it comes from. I'll discuss the matter with him later and see what he thinks about it."

"Thank you, Gabriel... I mean, Sir Gabriel..." Jade answered gratefully, a smile appearing on his face again, just like how he was always smiling when he was with his parents. It was then that Jade realised that since their separation, he hadn't smiled from the bottom of his heart for quite some time already. Earlier on, he had smiled only to prove to himself that he had not given in to despair yet, and now that he was truly smiling, he realised that doing so had brought along such a good feeling with it.
When the knight sitting beside them introduced himself as Sir Mernatel Cinderfelt, Jade let out a string of laughter at the knight's stiff and nervous introductions, before realising it and muttering a quick, "Sorry!"

Rayl had been about to go with Gabriel to breakfast and speak of their plans, but had been stopped by the light touch of Guinevere's hair against his neck, and the light squeeze on his arm," And good morning to you too, I pray that you slept well." he looked over his shoulder for a moment, before back out and over the field as the golden sun rose up and onwards. It was a beautiful morning, and he was taking in the sight before they would head off to Ber-
Or he could just look back at Guinevere. Back over his shoulder, he gave her a warm smile before pointing back to the estate with his free arm," Come, we'd best get something to eat before we head out...and I still need to to talk to Gabriel."
(OOC: ._. I can't come up with anything. at all. So sadly this will have to do for now.)

Guinevere gave a small nod and a smile as she walked back into estate. It really was a very beautiful morning. It had been a while since she had seen one this nice. But then again it could just seem that way before of the paladin whose arm she was on right now. She figured she'd spare him questions from his other friends and let go of his arm as they neared the kitchen. Bowing slightly to the others in the room, she silently took a seat and started to eat. She was curious as to where they were heading out to. As she had been napping at the time, she hadn't heard where they were going to. In the meanwhile, she just stayed quiet and ate, but stayed alert in case anything was directed at her.

Aaron noticed the new arrivals. Sir Rayl, and a beautiful, golden-haired woman arrive in the room. He looked around at the crowd that had gathered, and recognized most. Gabriel, Jade, Mernatel. Rayl was unmistakable in his shining armor, of course.... Actually, something about that armor seemed just a little familiar, as if he'd seen it someplace before. The one remaining person that didn't seem to be kitchen staff, or a regular soldier, was the woman that had come in with Rayl. Something in him stirred at the sight of the two of them. It was a place that seemed to be stirring more and more recently, and slowly, as if bubbles rising to the surface of a glass lake, he felt words begin to take place from the stirring. "His armor bright, his lance is keen, His horse trods underhoof the green, His mind made up, his sight is sure, With him our lands remain Secure.
Sir Rayl our Light, Lycia's might, Breaker of blight, the Holy Knight.
All hail the Gold Knight!" It was only after he finished and realized that he was standing, arm upraised for attention; that he realized that he'd actually stood up and spoken loud enough for the whole room to perceive. He would have been embarrassed, but two things saved him. First, he was too busy trying to figure out how he'd suddenly spoken as if he was a herald uplifting a hero from an old story. Secondly, and this was the clincher, it's end was met by a strong "huzzah" of approval from the men of the Golden Lance, and some of the Etrurians who'd arrived. This combination allowed him to get his wits about him quickly enough to make it seem intentional. The problem was, he didn't know what to next. "Ehh... Thanks for the hospitality, Sir Rayl. Lodging here is something even my Grandfather has not had the pleasure of." He sat back down, and for the most part tried to go back to his normal breakfasty thoughts (though he was ready to be addressed). He'd meant to speak to the golden-haired woman who had come in before they got underway, but somehow, he seemed to have ruined his opportunity for the moment.

Jade was still sitting down, trying to control his embarrassment at laughing out loud about the stiff knight when suddenly, he saw Aaron stand up speak: "His armor bright, his lance is keen, His horse trods underhoof the green, His mind made up, his sight is sure, With him our lands remain Secure.
Sir Rayl our Light, Lycia's might, Breaker of blight, the Holy Knight.
All hail the Gold Knight!" This brought about another set of laughter from Jade, although he quickly suppressed his laughter when he saw the general approval of the poem from the room. Jade watched as Aaron sat back down on his chair trying to act normal and decided that perhaps he had really gone too far with his laughing and sat down again, this time looking sheepish and turning slowly red in the face at his outburst of laughter. "S-sorry..." Jade managed to mutter before he quickly looked down at his breakfast and tried to hide his embarrassment.

OoC: I hope you guys don't mind me joining. I was pondering if I should start a solo thread or join this to start out. Well this won out.
IC: The crisp morning air accented by the feint scent of horses and evergreen trees wafted into Grayson's large room at his family manor. The slender noble turned in his bed and slowly opened his eyes, moaning at the suddenly bright room. A few seconds later, the room's extravagant features came into focus and Grayson pulled himself up so he was sitting in his four post bed. The man's absurdly long violet hair hung in his face and he coughed a bit as some of it lodged itself in his throat. Taking a nimble hand, he pulled his locks back, removing them from his visage. A bit more groaning followed as he stepped clumsily to his washroom.
The sound of the gilded faucet in his marble-covered bathroom was soothing, but the following splash of cold water on Grayson's face gave him an abrupt shock into a full state of awareness. He ran a bath and spent nearly an hour meticulously washing himself and the hair he so coveted. Letting the bath water drain away, he dried himself and threw on a lavish silk robe before stopping in front of the crystal mirror over his washroom sink. After taking out a blade, he deftly cut every bit of stubble from his face. Grayson was always good with his hands. To finish his morning ritual, he pulled out a jar of a custom crafted substance designed to hold hair together while still looking and smelling natural. Grayson scooped up some and quickly went to work on his hair. Almost an hour later, his signature pompadour was formed. It was really a hairstyle that only Grayson felt actually looked good, but that didn't faze the eccentric hunter.
Finally finished with preparing himself for the day, he took the rip down stairs after donning his new set of sensible clothing. It was much different from his usual extravagant garb. However, today was the day he set out to find himself in the world. No longer would he be the heir to the Pintel family name. A very influential name in Pherae. At least not until he felt he wanted to come back to the manor.
Once downstairs, he noticed his mother and father awaiting him. Tears were in his mother's eyes and his father's chest swelled as if trying to hold back similar tears. There weren't many words said between the three other than the arbitrary "Be careful" or "I love you". Fastening his pouches and quiver onto his waist, draping his cloak over his shoulders, and grabbing his oak bow, Grayson made his way out the front door of the main estate on the manor grounds.
Grayson waved goodbye to caretakers and other employees at the manor as he reached the front gate. A feint creaking sound of gold on metal was heard as it swung open, allowing him to leave. This would be the first time he had left the manor through the gate. The other time, he had snuck over one of the lower walls when he ran away at the age of fourteen. Excited and hopeful of his new life, he practically skipped out to the main road.
Half an hour of walking later, he noticed a ranch that was familiar from his weeks out on his own, but a very extravagant estate had been erected inside of it since he had last been there. At least it wasn't there when he ran away. What really caught his attention, however, was a huge pair of reptilian wings and a long tail coming from one of the stables. His face lit up at the sight.
"Oh wow! I've never seen such a beast! I wonder what it is!" Grayson mused to himself, hair bobbing as he ran to the fence. Being an impulsive sort, he quickly slung his bow on his back and climbed over the fence to get a closer look. Emerald cloak dragging on the still moist grass, he snuck around to the front of the beast. It's eyes seemed like they could pierce steel. Or at least they would if they were open. Much to Grayson's disappointment, the creature was asleep. However, before he could leave in a huff, a nearby guard, or at least what seemed to be a guard as Grayson really only knew of one word for a man in armor, noticed him near the beast.
"Oi, there! What are you doing?" barked the soldier. Grayson wheeled around to see the man and started to make his way back to the road, hoping he could just explain himself and be on his way. Unfortunately, he ran face first into the chest plate of another soldier.
"You supposed to be here, mate?" Grayson looked around and figured he had no way out. He took a deep breath and spoke.
"I don't believe I am, sir. However, if you would allow me to explain myself--" Grayson was suddenly cut off by being forcefully grabbed by both arms and dragged farther into the ranch. He wondered if he would be able to get out of this situation, but he really didn't care. He was having far too much fun out in the real world.

As Rayl escorted Guinevere in, he looked around the room to the various men and women, and smiled to himself: he was always glad to see people in high spirits...however, he apparently underestimated such morale when the green haired man who had accompanied Gabriel stood up and recited the following: "His armor bright, his lance is keen, His horse trods underhoof the green, His mind made up, his sight is sure, With him our lands remain Secure.
Sir Rayl our Light, Lycia's might, Breaker of blight, the Holy Knight.
All hail the Gold Knight!" [/center] Jade wasn't the only one who laughed, Rayl also began to laugh heartily, though was soon silenced by the resounding cheers of the people inside, who then went back to their business when he waved a hand, before raising it to his mouth to suppress any more snickering: he wasn't sure why he found it funny but it was best left forgotten. Instead he gave the young man, Jade, a pat on the shoulder, before making his way to Sir Winsett, extending a hand," It is a privilege to provide lodging to a poet like yourself. As for your grandfather lodging here: someday I wish to rest here!" Considering the fact that he slept in the old ranch house was clear that this was mainly a joke, as a breakfast plate was brought to him as well," Sorry for the delay, Sir Gabriel, but there were some...things I wanted to settle first. So then...Bern." he let that hang for a moment, before looking back over to Jade," Hopefully you slept well, my young friend." It was at this point two of his men came in, dragging some man with purple hair in...and he was about to eat too... Rising to his feet, he saluted the two men, then held up a hand," That is hardly the way to treat a guest: ready your things for the upcoming trip." With this the two men begrudgingly let go of Grayson, "Welcome stranger! Pray tell: what is your business upon my estate? Come join us my friend and we shall discuss it, while the breakfast is still warm!" He was in good spirits today, and with very good reason: A great night's sleep, great food, great friends (and let's not forget the great poetry!)...what was a simple breakfast had turned into a getaway from the conflicts to come.

The grass that was running along the tops of Grayson's boots turned into stone as the was being dragged towards the large estate on the ranch grounds. Grayson looked up at the building with a bit of annoyance. He wanted to try living away from these kinds of things, not be literally dragged back into them. Nevertheless, he was still enjoying the fact that he was out on his own. As the soldiers entered the estate, Grayson noticed how the interior of the building was both like his own home and completely different. It had armored soldiers walking it's halls and, very unlike his family's manor, there were weapons laying around the premises. Most likely left to sit there as the soldiers went someplace else. This change from the stark untouchable beauty that he was used to helped Grayson get excited again.
Grayson was dragged through another large doorway into a dining hall. The smells of freshly cooked food and the sight of a veritable army eating their fill reminded him that he hadn't yet eaten. Grayson's mind turned to the snacks that his mother had packed for him that were sitting in his back pouch. However, before he could mention that he wanted to get his food out, the soldier stopped in front of a man in glimmering blue armor. He looked familiar, but Grayson couldn't put his finger on it.
"That is hardly the way to treat a guest: ready your things for the coming trip." The men holding Grayson seemed disappointed as they dropped him and walked off. Grayson noticed the man's outstretched hand and took it, pulling himself up and dusting off his pants. The regal man spoke again, "Welcome stranger! Pray tell: what is your business upon my esate? Come join us my friend and we shall discuss it, while the breakfast is still warm!"
Grayson looked at the very tasy looking food on the tables and figured he could stand to have a bite. He adjusted his jerkin, cloak, and finally his bow and told the man of his intentions.
"My name is Grayson Pintel, I was simply inspecting the winged beast outside. I have never seen such a--" Grayson stopped himself as he finally realized who he was talking to, "You! You're Rayl Torien, aren't you? My father told me all about you! He said he met you once at one of his boring meetings of the nobility!" Grayson almost hopped up and down, hair bobbing more and more each time he bounced, "You were my inspiration to leave home and find myself! It's an honor to meet you, sir!"

Sabin had finally reached the ranch, but he was not exactly the type to just walk in and say hello. He wanted to meet Sir Rayl at the right time, just barging into his ranch sounded rather impolite. He could hear noices...munching. Hm, they must have been having breakfast.
He took out a loaf of bread from his satchel. Hearing the munching made him hungry, he might as well have a few slices. He sat on a bench nearby, munching on this bread.... it tasted rather sweet.
And then he saw a man.... he looked about Sabin's age. He wore leather garb... carried a bow... he must have been a hunter. He was being dragged in by two guards. Maybe he was a petty thief? Sabin had no idea, but he saw the two guards carrying him straight into the breakfast area.
Sabin held his chin a bit tight, and got to thinking. Maybe he could make these guards take him to the great knight? Maybe act as though he was stealing, then get caught.... that sounded like a good plan. In any case, Sabin decided to check out the place. He peeped into the hall and saw the two guards still standing there, chatting.

Aaron was grateful that no one really made a big deal out of his little display. The mage didn't exactly feel embarrassed, but he did wonder when he'd gotten up the nerve to do something so odd.
Aaron laughed at Rayl's comment about hoping to be able to rest in his estate himself someday. "I'm just glad the host is as understanding as he is welcoming. I'm happy to be of service." He said, as he grasped Rayl by the forearm.
He liked Rayl. At first, there had been a concern that Rayl would turn out to be a violent, arrogant jerk, but that had proven to be an un-based worry. (Seriously, how could this man ever act like that?) Instead, he seemed just like what was to be expected of the hero of Lycia. A virtuous, noble and compassionate knight and protector.
Even when two guards came in, dragging a purple haired young man with a rediculous hat (or was that his hair) on his head, he merely smiled and offered breakfast to the man.
Grayson Pintel, as he introduced himself, seemed to get very excited on realizing who he was speaking to. Aaron figured Rayl was a decent reason for such, but the Knight seemed to never be phased by all the attention. He seemed, well, casual.

Gabriel stood silently as the events unfolded. He couldn't even say something to Rayl without something else happening to divert the Paladin's attention. After the pink-haired man finished introducing himself...
Wait, that's his hair...?
Either way, Gabriel finished his breakfast, made a gesture to Aaron and Jade, as if telling them that he'd wait outside for them and Rayl once they were ready. The dining room was too crowded for any kind of chat at the moment.
"I wonder how this will end..."
He made his way towards the stables, let Starlight loose and then walked towards the practice range. "I suppose I can do no other thing now, right Starlight?" he said, his horse following him around the ranch.
