OoC: Continued from Quelling a Rebellion IC: "That's an Ilian style, isn't it?" Trin asked, blocking Abel's sword.
"What makes you say that?" Abel asked. He dodged a blow, blocked another, and twisted his sword hard to the right. Trins sword clattered to the ground. Abel leaped forward.
Trin dived to the side, rolling to his feet, sword in hand. "I'd never forget something that almost killed me," he said with a grunt. They traded a few more blows. Abel began to tire, and then his sword flew from his hand. "Checkmate," Trin said.
"So how'd I do?" Abel asked between breaths. He was amazing! I could learn a few tricks from him. I wonder how Eric's faring.
"IT looks to me that I've a new second in command," Trin said. "Now go see the healer and then lets go watch your friend."

Abel limped to the healer station, talking to Trin all the while. He had learned that Trin had joined the Illian occupation forces at the age of twenty and served for four years. Trin had caught wind of the rebellion six months ago and had spent most of the time gaining connections for a spy ring. He then switched sides during the first skirmish of the rebellion. And then he asked Abel about his story.
"I first left home about a month ago to help a man to the Nabatan border," Abel said, choosing his words carefully. "We ended up rescuing a caravan from bandits and meeting Sir Rayl." He realized what he had just said so he tried to continue on before Trin started babbling on about Rayl being a bad guy.
"He seemed nice enough and I traveled with a while before I learned of my lost sisters whereabouts. She had been taken by bandits as a child..."
He looked into the distance. Its all over now. With a little shake of his head, Abel brought himself back. "And after rescuing Eric's village from bandits I ended up here." He hobbled up to the healer and asked to be healed.
Once that was done, Abel and Trin walked over to see how Eric was doing. Trin didn't ask about Kasey, and Abel was glad he didn't. Her disappearance had left a hole in him. He hadn't known her very long, but he always had had a place in his heart for her. And now he was trying to fill it with Eric.
