"Hmm you've put a lot of effort into thinking all these color things out, haven't you? I've got to admit, I always felt white suited me, when I bothered with getting dressed up. It didn't happen often, but, hey, we weren't always on duty, ad sometimes we even had a bit of fun." The swordsman leaned back, shifting a bit to try and find a more comfortable root to lean on.
Garnet laughed at Elias' worry about finding "old man things."
"A glorious meal from the glorious, Crimson Chef, hey? Sounds delectable." The redheaded merc smiled at his fellow carrot top's antics.

"There's not much to think about." Elias sat there, his legs up to his chest and all under a cloak of warm blanket. Maybe he should set it on fire. "Red is the best, and white is it's BFF. Have you ever seen the two together? Style exploding from every orifice. You should try it, you'd look nice." Elias nodded with a smile. "You can dress up and be the fancy swordsman and strike fear into the hearts of all with devilish good taste in clothing. They'll be too busy admiring the tailoring to fight back! And best of all, since it's already red you..."
Suddenly Elias stopped mid sentence. His eyes fell, his smile faltered. He recovered a second later, it was brief but it was there. Quickly he took up his other topic. "Of course it will be glorious. I'm glorious. I'll cook you some eggs that will make you forget they were once up a chickens butt!"

"White and red. Maybe I'll try it sometime. Then again, most of the time, I'm trying to avoid notice. Tell you what, Once I'm out of Etruria, I'll try it."
Garnet thought he had heard something falter in the red-headed mage for a moment, but his next topic seemed to drive away the chance to ask about it.
"You, my friend, have an ego the size of Mt. Red. And Ugh... Elias, for future reference, most people don't appreciate hearing about where the eggs came from before they were cooked. Don't mention it to the others."
OoC: Mt Red was just a spur of the moment creation. Maybe a myth of a mountain somewhere in Elibe? I'm sure we could do something with it, if you wanted to. lol

"Mount red sounds like the best mountain ever created." He don't think he was familiar with such an incredible place, probably full of happiness and gold. Maybe puppies. Elias wasn't sure how he felt about puppies. On the one hand they were adorable and cute and made you want to pick them up and squeeze them to death, on the other they weren't red. If only there was some big red dog for him to love.
He stood from his little sitting stool that was mostly just cold earth because there was no fire, why wasn't there a fire!? Argh! It was driving him mad! "It's not a giant ego... if it's all true!" He rose his hand to the heavens, trying to grab at the slurry of colors inhabiting the setting sky. "Then it's justified self-confidence, don't ya know." He bent over and laughed. "Most people forget where eggs come from when they're eating them. Just like they forget milk is cow breast spewings." He tapped at his chin to for a moment, thinking in his crimson mind for the perfect crimson words.
"Thank you. That's what people say, right?" He felt oddly self conscious all of a sudden.

Garnet watched as the red-haired mage stood, grasping all the colors of the setting sun, and stating that it was only ego, if you didn't have the skill to pull it off. The Merc thought about this, and understood where Elias was coming from, but still thought that you could have an ego, even if you were justified in your confidence. Then Elias said something about Where it was milk came from, and Garnet could only cover his face, partly in laughter, and partly in hopelessness.
"I believe the correct term would be an udder, Elias. You'd better be careful, or one day there'll be a girl around, and she'll get'cha." The merc couldn't avoid laughing at the mage's antics as he said it though.
Garnet was a little puzzled when Elias thanked him. "Sure people say that quite a bit where I come from, but what did I do?"

Quietly Elias drew into his self, almost looking like all of his energy collapsed and he became a normal person for just a few seconds. His knees to his chest and his arms around them, covered in a blanket. The green eyed boy looked up at Garnet for a few seconds, quietly just watching. He wasn't a very tall person, and he looked even shorter next to the tall Garnet, but that didn't really bother him much. "You're supposed to say thank you when someone does something nice for you, right?" The words out of his own mouth sounded foreign to him.
"Well... you talked to me. No one's really ever done that before. Back when I lived with my father... I didn't really have any friends or anything. And ever since I've left, most people were too busy or plain out too annoyed or mad at me to actually have a conversation. I know it sounds dumb, but this is the first time I've ever just talked to someone like this." He slowly gripped tighter and tighter to his knees as he spoke, all of his famous self confidence melted away for the time being. "So... um... I, I wanted to say... Thank you."

Garnet wasn't really sure how to handle this. Elias could certainly be eccentric, but for people to avoid him because of it... That was just rude. He'd take eccentric over rude any day. "Well, Elias, your welcome." A small smile crept over his lips again,
Garnet thought of how he'd lived for the past several months. He'd been moody, angry; he'd despaired. Then he'd decided that he wouldn't live like that anymore. Elias' pesonality had helped him find his way out of his sorrow.
"Heh, I think you need to find some nicer people. The way you say thank you, it seems like you're dragging it from the depths of hell. You need some more practice." The Red-headed Merc tried to lighten the mood with his comment. "For now though, it's probably a good time to get some rest."

Elias smiled, as he usually did, but this time it was a bit smaller. A smile to his self, one that looked almost guilty. "Yeah, you're probably right." He only commented, thinking a bit back to all the people he's come across. Kyro was the only one that could even be remotely called a friend, but Elias hadn't seen him in so long. Marle was too busy with her commandering for the two to ever talk, and Migdig was too busy being a jerk. Arthur treated him like a child, and so did his wife. In a way they were right, he supposed.
"I think I'm starting to get tired now, so I'll go to bed." Elias lied, he wasn't really tired. But Garnet probably was, Elias would fall asleep when he crashed and sleep until before dawn like he always did. "Goodnight Garnet."
