The Cousins Grim? (Rayl and Kelvin B Support)

OOC: This continues on from the talk between Kelvin and Rayl in Bernese Stratagem. I'll put my post from the thread their to transition us.

IC: Rayl paused for a moment, before he turned around and sat back down besides his cousin," You couldn't have been worse than I was back during training. Heck, you had a much easier time getting in than I did...I still remember your constant visits just to bother me at my side job." he chuckled a bit as he recalled the first time Kelvin had come into the bakery.

"Come to think of it, you were probably more mature than me after training also..." He mumbled a bit to himself as he sat there looking at the stars. He was feeling jealous of Kelvin at this moment, and how could you blame him: His cousin had his life on track. He knew what he was doing,his thoughts were clear, and something about his relationship with Chelsea said more than there actually was,"...so what do you plan to do now then? Once...this..." he waved a hand forward and to the camp: he wasn't sure what to call this mission of there's:

" Is all done?"

"When this is all done? You mean we actually intend on finishing this? Heh, and here I thought we'd be fighting forever," he said with a chuckle. "In all seriousness, I plan to propose to Chelsea and hopefully get married. From there it's all up in the air. I might stay in the military and train new recruits. I might go to my parent's ranch and raise horses. I'm sure Chelsea would love that. Hell, I might even try my hand at politics, if I'm feeling brave enough," Kelvin responded peacefully.

Rayl smiled at his cousins wishful thinking, and put a brotherly hand on Kelvin's shoulder for a moment in pause, then pressed down forcibly," Kelvin, you do NOT want to be involved in politics." the paladin was rarely this forceful in a conversation, in fact he was NEVER like this, as he removed the hand," Look at me right now: I have to attend formal gatherings with staunch nobility, solve military dilhemnas, and any action I do at any time could have dire consequences for Pherae, and the whole of Lycia with how things are...I'm surprised Etruria hasn't sent as many assassins after me as they had been!"

It was true, there had been attempts...in fact, that was one (of many) of the reasons why the man slept so little," You're better off just settling down...marrying the girl you love...raising a family, and living a simple life on a ranch like my parents did, than get wrapped up in being a hero...and boy did I learn that the hard way."

...and that was just the shortened version of his thoughts.

Kelvin chuckled to himself, "It was a joke my cousin. Politics is a realm that I dare not brave. Besides, I'm too free for those stuffed shirts. This is where I belong, where I can make a difference." Kelvin lay back and sighed, "What do you plan to do after this?"

Rayl moved away from his cousin as he spoke, and let his head hang in thought as he half sat and half laid against the tree's trunk. In complete silence, one may have figured him asleep before he answered solemnly," I don't know. I'll probably be in this position until I die, no matter how long or short a time that may be." Silent once more, you could see the tiredness in Rayl's eyes, the young man looking more beyond his years from his lack of adequate rest, even if the night back in Pherae had been pleasant, one night can't make up for five years of worry.

"You remember when we were kids, Kelvin?" He spoke with eyes closed, trying to recall those days," We'd sneak Marissa out of the house and go into town?"

OOC: I vote flashback, maybe try and get Marissa into the support.
