OoC: Takes place on the ship, at the time when Sabin is going to eat food. He and Grayson arrive at the dining table.
Sabin arrived at the dining table. It was huge, spectacular! Lots of nice dishes, the cuisine was a mix of Bernese and Illian. The aroma made Sabin's mouth water. This was a feast he just had to enjoy!
Sabin had never been to Bern before, so he was eager to try out some of its food. His mother knew how to cook a bit of Illian food, so Sabin was a bit used to it. Sabin knew one thing: It was always important to enjoy eating. Enjoying and appreciating each and every food would only make the experience even better!
As sabin was about to serve himself, he saw the young purple haired archer sit next to him... what was his name? Oh that's right, Grayson.
He wondered how the archer felt all about this? He just happened to join the group out of luck, just like Sabin had. Had he been to Bern? Did he knw anything about their mission that Sabin didn't know? He just had to ask him.
"Hey Grayson, I see you've come to dine early as well. That apple wasn't filling, was it?" he chuckled and asked.

Grayson had sat down near the unkempt pirate. He recalled the man was named Sa... Sa... Sa - something. He took inventory in his head of the assortment on the table. H e was suddenly reminded of the wyvern who stole his breakfast back at the ranch. Looking over his shoulders, he realized how ridiculous it was to worry about a similar incident happening at that moment. He finally returned to eyeing the food and picking out a few things to eat.
While Grayson pulled a leg from a nearby fowl of some sort, Sa - something asked him a question.
"Hey Grayson, I see you've come to dine early as well. That apple wasn't filling, was it?"
Grayson turned to look at him as he continued to pile things on his plate. The fowl leg he took earlier hung from his clenched teeth. He took it from his mouth and placed it on his plate, a bit embarrassed.
"Um. No, actually. Thank you for that apple, though, Sa... Sa... Sapin?" Grayson fumbled to remember the man's name.

Sabin saw as Grayson turned and pulled the fowl leg from his teeth and put it on the plate. Dis.Gus.Ting. Even his crewmates wouldn't eat like that, although they didn't have the best...table manners. Sabin was lucky he had a merchant mom who taught him these stuff.
"Um. No, actually. Thank you for that apple, though, Sa... Sa... Sapin?" Grayson fumbled.
"Its Sabin, kid."Sabin said with a dull, straight face. This man was not mature for his age, was he? How old was he anyways?
"So, Grayson, have you been to Bern before?" he asked.

"Um. No, I have not. In fact, this is my first time away from my family manor in years." Grayson chucked to himself a bit, "Of course, the other time I left it I really wasn't supposed to." Grayson finished filling his plate.
"You wouldn't happen to know what sort of wine is on the ship, would you? I've been dying for a nice port!"

"Other time? Care to tell me about this 'other time' of yours? I think its getting a little boring on this ship lately, it wouldn't hurt to tell a tale or two about your childhood. Oh, and as for beer, I think there's a bit of grapevine you could try." Sabin said.

Grayson thought back to the time he ran away.
"Well, it was about ten years ago. I had just recently turned fourteen and my parents had this horrible man taking care of me. The man beat me with some sort of leather that left no lasting welts or scars. By the time my father came home or my mother came back from the garden there were no visible signs of his beatings. On top of that, I tired of life holed up in the manor. I wanted freedom! Adventure!" Grayson took a few bites of some dates he put on his plate, "So, of course, I did the rational thing and ran away. About a week I evaded their searches. Oddly enough, I don't recall ever running out of money for that week. I'm usually no good with gold, but I suppose my predicament helped me ration it better."
Grayson paused for a second as he tried to remember specifics of his time out in the city. Not much came to mind, "Well that's about all I can remember, actually. I spent a week on the streest of Pherae before my father's guards found me. Come to think of it, I don't remember a whole lot about my teenage years. Mostly thanks to that blasted man."

"Interesting, Grayson. You seem to have had a miserable childhood. I'm sorry." Sabin apologized.
"But I'm amazed at how you were able to save your gold for a week! You're a Lycian noble, right? You seem to have that air around you.." he said. Although, Grayson sure didn't act mature for his age, especially for a noble. "Hmph, nobles. They always lke to keep their children stuck in a cage, don't they." he thought in his mind.
"So, have you tasted such food before? I've tasted a bit of Illian food, but this is the first time I'm getting my hands on Bernese food!" he said, relaxed now.

"Yes. I suppose they do. I wouldn't really know, though. I haven't ever met any other noble families. My father always sent me to riding or etiquette lessons when we had company." Grayson began to slump. He always felt that his father was embarrassed to have him as a son when he was younger, "It seemed as if he didn't want anyone else to know of me..." He finally noticed Sabin's other question.
"Not to my knowledge. I may have, but I was never told where the food we ate at the dining table came from."

"So, Grayson, how did you find the sea? Was it to your liking?" Sabin asked, chuckling.
"I'm eager to arrive at Bern. Its like a whole new adventure to me. It sounds like a dangerous time to go there though, with the rebellion and what not." Sabin said.

"To be honest, it makes me a bit uneasy. I seem to be keeping the contents of my stomach just fine, but I just always feel off balance on this ship. It bothers me."
Grayson turned back to his plate and picked up another date. Examining it, he lazily muttered the rest of his response.
"I'm really looking forward to just being on land again. I honestly have no clue what is going on in Bern, but I do know it's happening on solid ground."

"When we land in Bern, we're gonna do a circus act. We're supposed to...right?" Sabin replied.
"Oh and guess what? Since you don't carry a weapon for close combat, you'll have to be careful. If get caught up and surrounded in the ongoing rebellion in Bern.... they'll kill you. So, I guarantee, you just stick with me, ok? Two men are better than one, right?" he said, rather tauntingly. He wanted to make this man feel a bit nervous. He was so bored, he wanted to play a prank on someone.

"Rebellion?" Grayson truly had no clue what was happening in Bern. Perhaps he could ask Aaron to fill him in. He finally put the date in his mouth and slowly chewed on it. He almost hurt his tooth on the pit, but moved around it and finally picked it clean of the fruit. Grayson spit the pit into his hand and placed it on his plate, wiping his hand off with a napkin after.
"Well there are quite a few competent fighters in this group. I don't really have to stay with you exclusively, do I?

"Why yes! You don't know about it?"Sabin asked, slightly shocked.
"But no bother. You're not obligated to stick with me, but I assure you , I'm a capable fighter, so you don't get panicked if we're both stuck alone, you understand?" Sabin said to Grayson. He was bewildered by how naive Grayson was.
