Marissa was gleefully skipping down the streets of Edessa, humming a Lycian folksong vibrantly and acquiring an array of strange looks from the various passerby. It had been a long time since she had made a new friend, she had traveled with Salina and her mercenary group for so long that she forgot what it was like to make new friends. Clair did seem a little cautious of her at the moment, but Marissa was confident that given a little quality time together that the two would make good friends. Turning her head to her side to make sure that Clair was keeping up with her before asking, "So if you don't mind me asking, what is it like? Growing up with Hera as your mother that is. I heard a lot about her when I was studying to be a Pegasus Knight. I'm curious, what was she like?"

Clair followed, not skipping, but walking as fast as she could. They'd just left the blacksmith's shop, where Clair had left her armor to be repainted and restored. Even now, Marissa still nearly left her behind. The older girl seemed excitable, which was different after a year with mostly quiet, stoic soldier types.
Marissa seemed to have quite the interest in Hera Feldsky, Clair's mother. She was certainly one of the better candidates for study, having made her name early. Originally she'd been thought of as reckless, due to her favored tactic of dive bombing into the middle of a group, but as she succeeded over and over without taking serious injuries, she eventually gained a reputation as lucky. It was after she bested one of Illia's finest halberdiers, that she'd gained recognition as just plain skilled.
Clair hadn't really known her mom that well until only a few years before her own training had started. She'd been arund before, but not for extended periods of time. Once Clair had begun her own training in Arphen, her mom had gotten stationed there, flying as a scout and guard in the area. It had let the family spend a lot more time together.
"I don't mind talking about it. but there's not a great deal to tell, really. She was busy a lot, and by the time she got home, she didn't feel like talking about work much." The younger pegasus knight moved down the street, painfully aware of the illian chill in her etrurian supplied clothing. "She always showed an interest in family interests when she was home. I know she was glad when I told her I wanted to become a pegasus knight, because she made sure I got into the right training programs."
Clair wrapped her arms around herself, trying to stay warm as they moved down the street. This was exactly why one always needed to be prepared in Illia. "Do you know where we're going? It's freezing out here." This wasn't the most enjoyable "evening on the town" she'd been on so far.
