Renault found a inn in the Bern Seaport. He decided to take a look inside.
Renault walked in the Bern Inn. Looking around he noticed the place was crowded, but also quiet. He headed to a corner table, where he sat next to the wall. He noticed everyone were just quietly talking. He got out his knife and stabbed it into the table saying with a little uncalmly "I need to find work, or i'll never be able to travel to Ilia."
He Began to lean back, with the knife still in the table. He smirked as he saw two Guards swaggering around, clearly not sober. The Guards though started to become a little angry. Then one of them just passed out from complete overdose of alchohol. Then the other Guards just sat on the floor, Pretty much angry.

Abe snored loudly. His dreams were filled with soft beds, feathers, and food to fill the soul for three or four lifetimes. Abe did indeed love food; in fact, while he was average in weight, he ate more than the average human, and also slept much more than the average human. Strange, of course, it was that Abe would have chosen a run-of-the-mill bar table to sleep on for the day, but the young man truly had no qualms about where it was he slept; in fact, Abe could sleep anywhere, and snore anywhere as well.
In his daily endeavors, he had ventured into the bar for no cause; probably, if one were to ask Abe why, he would give the reason that he was sleepy, and needed somewhere besides an alley to sleep in. He was prone to danger, and also prone to causing more trouble than he solved; or was worth, for that matter; and so he generally slept in public places where he could snore and not care who heard, so long as he was in a place full of people.
Like the bar.
Of course, there was the fact that the bar itself was now full of incompetent drunkards, though Abe could never tell that in his heavy, dream-filled sleep. He snored loudly again, his mouth hanging widely open, and drool trickled out of the corner of his mouth and down his jaw like a ship in the ocean.
Slowly, Abe came to, as he heard the sound of someone crashing to the floor. It didn't startle him, as the young thief was not easily startled by anything because he didn't really care, and so he did little more than proceed to slowly open halfway his intense green eyes. Abe yawned heavily, shutting one of them again as he saw a guard laying on the floor in a drunken stupor. Abe managed a laugh and rolled his head back over on the table uncomfortably. He muttered in his half-awake state, and the guards continued their supposed satire.
Angrily, Abe raised his head again and scowled at them. He wanted quiet, to sleep, and these fools weren't going to hand it over to him. In an appeasing way, Abe rested a fist on his chin, weakened his angry gaze, and stared distastefully at the two guards. There was a strange feeling, though, about the room... a feeling of uneasiness; malicious intention....

After talking with the soldier and buying the Vulnerary’s for the organization the shopping got considerable easier. The shopkeeper was nice enough to give him a map of the whole town so Gaven could do it in the minimal amount of time. Why didn’t the guard hand me this? Being a Neophyte does not give someone a excuse to be rude or just plain stupid.
Most of the things on the list are unmentionable because nothing really stood out. The only spectacular thing that happened upon his food hunting endeavors was; Gaven making trips to the stable and trying to find out were the old mare was picketed.
Finally Gaven started down at the crossed out list. All the items but one were crossed out but Gaven still had money in his pouch. Did he miscount That thought was blown away when he saw what was last on the list in big bold letters beer.
I should have known. Beer is great for raising soldier’s morale and can make a party worthwhile. Though the amount is a little…insane? Gaven read the amount again just to be sure but nevertheless it didn’t change before his eyes and still said “2 kegs” 2 kegs is quite a bit of beer and it would be quite awkward seeing a kid buy beer. Is this even allowed? i am technically a minor.
Gaven braced himself and walked into the tavern. Instantly he was hit with the sound of corny music being played by a bard in the corner. To his right was a greasy bartender cleaning out one of his recently used mugs. None of the people looked particularly interesting till he saw 2 soldiers.
They were well being soldiers. The stress had led them to drink to relive their worries, so Gaven didn’t condemn them for that. He did though condemn them for being Illian soldiers and reaping poor Bern relentlessly. Gaven didn’t fret to much about them noticing him though because they were both obviously in a drunken stupor.
Gaven then started considering how he was going to buy a considerable amount of beer without drawing suspicion.

Renault notices the minor walk into the bar. He then starts to think to himself of the reason. He decides to walk up. Before he does he examines the minor, to make sure it wasn't a trap. Renault had always had a habit or *knack* as he called it, for observing.
He Then walked up, noticing the two soldier start getting angrily drunk towards a table. He seems though to be angry by this, but doesn't worry about it for the moment. He slightly bumps into a group of people observing the drunk guards, it takes him a good 2 or 3 minutes to get through most of it.
He then finds the minor, but before he can get to him he is interrupted by the bartender. In a rather ugly and deep voice he says to Renault *Eh, whats with them guards? You haven't been skulking around and makin them thing the wrong thoughts are yeh?
Renault then replies to the Bartender "They are Illian, leave it to themselves to get drunk and angry." He then finds the Minor again and walks up to him. "Hey, what are you doing in a place like this little one? I'm sure you can't get much here." He grins and crosses his arms.

When Gaven saw the silver haired man hell-bent on coming to him he resisted all urge to just scamper off the bar and go somewhere else. Sadly this in is the only option for buying big quantities of beer. Luckily though because the man had to push through a crowds of bystanders, Gaven got a good first impression of him.
The first thing that caught his attention was the silver hair. Gaven at first thought it was white but the tint was different giving it a glossy sheen making it silver instead of the dull white. He also wore a cloak around his body for unapparent reasons. Green cotton pants hung loosely from his body but looked tight enough not to fall off in a fight. The closer he got the better Gaven was able to make of him. The last thing he was able to comprehend was his intelligent blue eyes. He was interpreted from his sizing up by the man asking a question.
Gaven did though do a quick check around him though to make sure he was actually talking to him, because it would be quite stupid and less dangerous if he wasn’t. Sadly he wasn’t. It was a false hope too because he was the youngest one here and he used the words “little one”
Of course being called little one inflamed a rage inside Gaven. Why can’t people just stop being idiots. i am not a kid, i am a young adultnevertheless Gaven politely said “Sir I am looking for my father because he went drinking at the bar yesterday and hasn't came back since. My mother is quite worried and she sent me to find him. She couldn’t come because women are looked down upon in this setting” upon saying setting Gaven indicates with a hand the area before him.

Renault looks at Gaven. He wasn't always the one to help others, but he was bored at the moment. He proceeded to reply to Gaven's statement saying "Well what does your father look like? I probably wouldn't have seen him but there is a chance."
He then looks around. Within a few moments he notices that the guards have left. Although he is satisfied he noticed a good bit of the people within the inn went outside to see wherever the guards went.
As he notices, he starts to hear voices of the crowd outside, which leads him to believe the guards are probably out there making fools of themselves.

After being asked that Gaven quickly surveyed the bar looking for a potential target/father. He needed someone fast otherwise he would look suspicious. He immediately eliminated half the bar's participants as being either too young or too old to be a father. Next he had to eliminate all the ones who didn’t look all the way drunk. Finally he had 5 potentially choices then his eyes settled upon a stranger seated at a table with his head dropped down muttering half unintelligible words.
He looked like a better choice then the others because his hair colored was more in the likeness of Gaven’s then the others choices. Also he had broad shoulders meaning that he if he was an honor-bound man he would help Gaven fight off if this man harassed him in any way shape or form. Gaven couldn’t really get more off this person because he was well…sleeping and Gaven was pressed for time.
Before the silver-cloaked stranger could utter a reply Gaven was already started moving in his direction. He started tapping him awake and praying to himself that this lazy stranger would be helpful to his plight. Or if that not working being a good distraction if Gaven had to escape quickly. ((Gaven does not notice that he is fully awake))
”Wake up mister please” Gaven uttered to him quietly .
In all retrospect this could potenially be very dangerous, if this man dosen't listen to me, but hay once I commit myself I commit myself.

((Hay Abe that post was directed at you, but due to your inactivity I am just going to rp this response. Its short because I have a bit of writer's block.))
After poking him a few times Gaven gave up his futile attempts to wake this man. Thinking that the gray-cowled stranger was going to have questions Gaven tried to make a worthwhile answer. Sadly he failed thinking this because he never considered the possibility that the man wouldn’t awaken. He could talk himself out of any situation but you can’t talk to a sleeping man! So when he saw the stranger approach he said
“Hmm… Far away he looks like my dad, but up close he isn’t.” Gaven realizing that the statement could raise suspicion, Gaven added hastily “Maybe you could search for him? He’s tall and muscular and is usually seen with a blood-red axe to his side.” This is not ‘technically’ lying because this is my dad’s description, but he would never be caught in this kind of tavern. AKA: shady and just overall disgusting.. “Now I see this stranger doesn’t have my dad’s signature axe. Also another indicator is his clean shaven beard.”
Gaven figuring that he needed to further layer the act adds “Pretty please sir. It would really mean a lot to me” He said this in his most innocence and harmless voice. I may have over done it just a ton. Well at least no one will think I am a minimalist.

((Due to Renault's 1 week and 4 day absence leaving this thread, and I have a feeling he's not coming back )) After giving the stranger his description of his dad, he started looking for him. After looking around for around 5 minutes the stranger got tired of actually doing something decent in his life and joined the merry crowed of soldiers in drinking all their sorrows away. Of course this completely perplexed Gaven but he took it as a good omen because the less suspicion/questioning the better. He walked up to owner of this bar and was immediately hit by the man's pungent odor. It smelled of the musty odor of dried cigarettes and beer. Lots of beer. He was mostly bald with a few teeth missing showing he had been in one too many bar fights. Gaven though didn't mark him down as a lowlife though because he was after a bartender. This kind of smell and appearance comes with the job afterall. He says in a voice that suits his disposition "Kid what are you doing in a fine establishment like this" Upon saying the word, fine, the man gives himself a chuckle or two as if enjoying a private joke to himself. Gaven was unsure if he should join in the laughter when the man abruptly stops and his eyes and mouth become no-nonsense. Realizing that this man was probably the best judge of lying he was ever going meet, because of him dealer with all the backkind of people, Gaven decided to tell part of the truth. ¡§I am looking to buy some a big quantity of beer, 2 kegs to be exact" The mans gives a whistle at hearing the amount. "That doesn't sound like your casual drinker." The man says thoughtfully. He was a business man at heart though and ushered Gaven into the back of the bar a storage room.

“Did you say 2 kegs of beer again” he asked as if not believing it himself ”Yes sir.”
”What brand?” Gaven not knowing that there were different brands of beer decided to go with the old famous answer; “Give me whatever’s cheapest “
”Smart lad, smart lad” the man says absently mindedly and he starts inspecting barrels. For some reason he feels some need to expand on it so he says: “There really isn’t a difference in beer except how much money it scams you. That’s why at this establishment we offer the best and cheapest deals. Now let me ask you do you have enough money to pay for this?” In response Gaven holds out his pouch filled with coins.
At seeing the money the man carries his voice and yells “BRUCE!ALAN! COME HERE” 2 burly men in their 30 walked in. Both have stains of beer on their shirt and looked like they were in a drunken stupor but by their bigger than life muscles made them intimidating none of the less.
“Okay now I need to see the money upfront and personal.3000 gold” Upon saying this ridiculous amount Gaven realizes that the true cost is 2000 gold. There was no way to convince the man of this obvious ridiculous price so he poured out the coins onto a table. The mans eyes looked over it greedily before asking “Where’s your wagon at?”
”It’s not a wagon but horse and its located in the front east gate” gaven says this very prodly because he had started to get a better sense of direction of the town. At saying this though the mans brow creased for a few seconds before it released. “Well you need a wagon to carry this substance otherwise you will break it back. Luckily I have a spare one that you can use that the boys will let you have free of charge.” At saying this he flicks his hands and both burly men pick up the beer and walk out of sight.
“Now about the payment” his hands start to pick out individual coins test it with his mouth then puts it in a separate pile. After about 500 coins Gaven realizes he is short of the amount. Gaven quickly scans all the coins and sees 1500 left, but the man hasn’t noticed the lack of coins due to his preoccupation with the coins and his mouth. Gaven realized he could do nothing about it and waited for the man to notice. After 200 more coins the man stopped suddenly and says “This isn’t enough” he repeats it a few times trying to convince himself.
He then slams the table with his hands sending all the coins clinking and clanging all over the place. “Kid you’re going to pay the price one way or another.” he then starts advancing menacingly toward Gaven. Gaven realizing he has no other choice points the lance at the man and says “I am not afraid to use it.”
The man releases a hoarse laugh at hearing this. “Kid do you really think a stick of wood will stop me” he does though hesitate though before continuing forward. Gaven realizes he isn’t going to get help because the door is closed and it is made from a metal that does not allow sound to pass through it. So all the screaming in the world wouldn’t help him, but reasoning might.
“Come on 2,000 is a fair price for beer.” The man doesn’t hear him and suddenly lunges at him. Gaven tries to block him with a left to right motion with the lance, but the lance was never a slashing weapon so it didn’t inflict any bruises. What it did though was change the man’s trajectory off by a few inches causing him to hit a keg of beer with his head. After a few tense seconds Gaven realizes that the man is out cold.

Gaven stares at the innkeeper for a few more seconds wondering what he should do. He was cut short of that thought when he noticed the barrel titled, whiskey, had tipped over when the man had given himself a concussion. Due to the man’s skull being made of high quality bone it had created a leak. A leak of whiskey in a room were everything is wood and were there is candles on the floor.
So Gaven was rewarded with the whiskey barrel catching on fire then as a result catching all the other barrels on fire. Pretty bad design to have a barrel made of wood. So Gaven was faced with a choice collect up the coins or save the man being burned up to a crisp. Gaven gazes longingly at the coins before opening the door out of the room and yelling fire. The smoke now was getting thick and Gaven needed both hands to get the man out of the fire so he had to let his lance burn.
Gaven squatted down and firmly grasped the man’s shoulders and started heaving. By the time he had made it out of the storage room the rest of the inn was slowly catching on fire. Gaven now gasping for breath actually considering the man there, but his conscience wouldn’t let him. After a few more minutes of pulling, Gaven came out of the inn with the man getting into view a few seconds later.
A bucket train had already started and Gaven watched memorized as they tried to stop the fire from expanding to the other buildings. Suddenly the inns roof collapsed causing a shower of sparks, but the men didn’t stop at their job. Gaven contemplated their bravery against death.
Suddenly Gaven was enveloped in a hug by a sobbing mistress “ You saved him, you saved him” Gaven wanted to get out of this awkward situation but realized it was to rude to do so. After a few tight hugs she let go and checked on her husband. She then said to Gaven “thank you. You have no idea how much he means to me”
Gaven unaware of how to reply just said “Your welcome ma’m” “Tell me your name so I can send prayers for you all the time at night” “Gaven” with that he walks away. All down the bucket line though he was getting slapped on the back and getting “Good jobs.”
Gaven bitterly though realized he was going to face the leaders tongue lashing because he had lost his lance. Even if he told his leader it he wouldn’t care because the cause is more important than human life to him. Gaven wished he could have that much loyalty to Bern were he could replace it over all demands.
Reaching the gate Gaven didn’t feel one morsel of regret hitching up on his mare and riding away with all the supplies, including the beer. The man’s life had repaid the extra 1000 gold so all debts were off and his conscience was a clean slate. Gaven shifted in the saddle and wondered how the day could have turned out differently if he could have just avoided conversation.
