Selibas charged growling at the thief. The thief spun away from a heavy blow from Epeeciel. Selibas would've needed time to recover if he wasn't so incredibly angry. He lifted his sword in a wide arc, attempting to catch the thief as he came back in for a blow. The thief slid underneath his blade, and swung up leaving a clean cut on his forearm. Selibas growled again.
He kicked the man in the knee. He had gotten to serious. He threw his blade on the ground, then punched the mans stomach with his left hand, then his face with his right. The thief caught his next blow, and somehow slipped behind him and held him in a strange hold. "Enough," the man said, "You shall serve." He then pushed selibas into the dirt at the feet of the large conversation, knocking him unconcious.

"Enough!" Garnet shouted down the events taking place. Unprovoked attacks, companions bleeding out or being restrained and knocked unconcious. The man's face was approaching a color matching with his deep red hair. If he'd stopped to remember, it was doubtful there would be a time he could recall during which he was as furious as he was now.
"You'd be lucky to escape with twenty lashes, and three days in the stocks where I come from!" The hero's voice carried a tiger's fury in it, as he let his anger dictate his words.
"Now lower your weapons, or so help me, it'll be your blood painting the snow!" His own injuries were forgotten. At this rate, he'd be pushing himself into overdrive in a moment.

Oh god! Aleth swore that Garnet might make the matter even worse. She managed to stumble over Garnet, perhaps looking more pale than usual. She just wanted her parents to leave that was all.
"Please Garnet, they didn't mean anything by it, I'm sorry you guys were caught up in family matters, I swear I'll pay all of you back but for now, let them go...away... I mean, it wasn't that bad, I've had been through plenty worse and I swear that everyone elses injuries will heal over quickly," she informed, her voice laced with fear and relative concern towards her parents. She didn't hate them thats for sure, even with all the child abuse. It was her fault to begin with.

Caelica continued to watch the arguing, especially intrigued by the angry Garnet. "Wow, Garnet can sure get angry..." Caelica murmured, not noticing Aleth slipping out to stop the yelling. When Caelica finally realized Aleth was missing, she saw the white haired mercenary standing, looking more palid than usual. Caelica began to head toward her, but stopped on her heels and instead ran the other way.
Caelica stopped by a cart of supplies, which she began to rummage through. The man in charge of watching the cart looked at her confused, then yelled, "Hey, girl, what do you think you're doing? Don't you go messing up all that stuff there."
Hardly any of the supplies were shifted around, but an item--then two--falling off was enough to garner complaints from the man. "Um...Ah, there it is." Caelica said, ignoring the man. Her hands emerged from the pile holding a roll of bandages. Continuing to ignore the man's complaints, she ran over to Aleth, leaving the man grumbling as he picked up the items on the ground.
"Hey Aleth, I got some medical supplies for you." Caelica waved the bandage roll in front of Aleth's face. "I suppose you still have broken ribs and possible internal bleeding though...Alright, let's get you to a healer then." Caelica decided as she offered to prop Aleth on her shoulder. She then looked at Garnet, noticing his numerous cuts and bruises. "You wanna come along too Garnet? Or do you just want these bandages?"

The redheaded merc was ready to fling himself into the fight again. Claiming blood and little else was on his mind. Until Aleth showed up. She was desparate. He wasn't quite sure what about yet, but she clearly wanted him to stop. In the end, her pleading began to calm turn him away from his path. These were her parents.... He wasn't going to fight them....
"Just get out of here. You're not worth the pain I'm causing." Garnet's voice sounded low and hoarse from the confrontation, as he turned away. He blew a breath out, exasperated. He waved off Caelica's concern. She was a nice girl, and it was appreciated, but he'd had worse before.
"Don't worry about me, Cael. Let's just get Aleth to the healers, for now." His cuts stung, and his bruises hurt. His lip was probably swelling from where he'd been hit, but this all paled next to the young white-haired woman's injuries.
"I can get her. Bring the bandages too, if you would, Caelica." The Merc hero didn't wait. He just leaned over, and scooped her up, cradling her against his chest. The less chance she had to agravate her injuries, the better it would be for her, so he was careful as he carried her. The sounds shrank behind them, as Garnet moved towards where the healers would be stationed in the column.
"...I'm sorry if I offended you back there, Aleth.... I got angry." He spoke quietly, his face hard, yet troubled. "I didn't intend to do that."

Aleth smile and nodded in return glad that her pleas were answered. She didn't wish to be a burden but she also wanted her parents out of here as fast as possible. They had no business in many aspects of her life. Meeting them again actually made her like a child again, the fear was there but also a tiny bit of admiration. Now she was being carried off, like in some sob story.
"Thanks Garnet," she said, unable to think of anything more. When sfhe turned to thank Caelica for her consideration, she noticed that the mercenary group already up and left. What was up with this feeling of disappointment?
"What is going on here, someone is hurt before we even move out?!" a healer exclaimed in a frenzied voice. At the entrance of the cleric, Aleth pushed herself off of Garnet. She didn't want to trouble the man anymore.
"What happened here?!" the cleric asked as she lighted her staff and began to check her wounds. She shook her head as if she didn't understand how the wounds were possible. If it was worth anything, Aleth was already feeling better.
"My parents," she replied.
"This is all can do, but you'll need some rest, really I swear you almost broke all your rib cage!" she sighed before hurrying aware at the sound of an yelp.
"Well glad that encounter turned out far better than usual," she declared, looking at her friends.
"I only got away with a few broken ribs!" she excitedly said, clapping her hands together. She was honestly very happy by such a fact.

The young Sacaen awoke groaning. He felt his face being seemingly brushed by something, then realized it was Lightning, attempting to wake him with his tail. Selibas got up, very slowly, each movement causing pain. He spat a little blood out of his mouth as he walkde about to collect his swords. He had extreme difficulty lifting Epeeciel, but nevertheless, sheathed it all the same. He mounted Lighning with some difficulty, the used his last of his Vulnerary on his chest and stomach. It helped the feeling of the pain go away, but he knew it was still there.

Garnet went very quiet as the healer spoke with Aleth. Th white haired girl acted like it could have been far worse for her, but Garnet said nothing. His outside demeanor seemed calm enough, if still upset. Inside however, he was loaded up with a fair number of thoughts better left unsaid.
"Aleth, if you want to put me in a bad mood, keep talking about your past injuries." Apparently, this wasn't an isolated incident, but a way of life for her family. The red headed merc hero was fairly certain that if he let himself speak too much, he'd just end up making his situation worse, so instead he started dabbing what was left of a vulnerary packet on some of the minor cuts and bruises he'd sustained.
He could feel his cuts closing up somewhat under the influence of the salve, but not everything fixed.
"Caelica, you still have those bandages? I'd like to wrap myself up a bit."

Caelica put her hand on her head and gave a loud sigh as Aleth expressed her happiness about the extent of her injuries. "Thank goodness only your ribs broke." Caelica laughed, although she felt bad about only getting a few bruises. Caelica moved to pat Aleth on the arm, but pulled her hand back when she saw it was getting close to Aleth's ribs. "Get some rest though, would you? You're scaring me a little." Caelica said with a grin, as she heard Garnet call to her.
Caelica ran past the table where she had set down the bandages, quickly running her hand over the surface to grab the bandages. A sharp pain was felt from Caelica's hand, instead of the feeling of the soft puffy bandages she was expecting. She looked down, realizing that she had pulled her hand over the edge of a knife which created a fairly large cut. She quickly located the bandages and With her other hand, she wrapped her hand, ripping the bandage with her mouth once she was done. Walking closer to Garnet, Caelica looked at what was left of the roll. Someone had used a majority of the roll already, and Caelica had taken another relatively large amount.
"Aw great, sorry about that Garnet..." Caelica apologized with her eyes down as she held up what was left of the bandages--a short strip not long enough to wrap around anything. "Well I'm going to explore a little. Aleth isn't the only one who needs a little rest, right?" Caelica said, strolling out and around the area.

Aleth shut her mouth after Garnet's comment. She forgot it was unnatural for most people to have gone through so much thanks to their parents. She simply just kept a peppy appearance as much as possible.
"Umm, yeah, I guess I'll just try to keep it easy," she said, taking a seat on the ground. They weren't leaving yet and every slight movement made her ribs irritate and tingle a bit. They were hardly fully fixed up but after a few days, they would be fine. Unless... No she really shouldn't think about such depressing thoughts.
"Sorry for the troubles," she apologized with full sincerity in her voice. They wouldn't have to deal with that merc group if it wasn't for her relations to them. She was such a useless mercenary...

Selibas turned Lightning towards the others. There was clearly a healer there and the pain Selibas felt was too great to ignore. He slid off Lightning, and stumbled a bit. He walked up to the cleric and said, "H-heal me please." He sat down waiting for a response of any kind. The majority of the pain was in his stomach, and he couldn't move his right arm very well.
Ooc: Sorry it's short, just trying to make sure we're "all accounted for".

"Oh, Caelica..." Garnet frowned for a moment, then laughed slightly, shaking his head. He watched Selibas making his way to one of the healers, and looked around at the area. His injuries were still mostly untended, but they were shallow, and wouldn't prove difficult to heal. Or so he kept telling himself. His coat and armor had proved its worth today.
"Well, I think we got our bottoms whooped enough for one day. Let's just try and stay out of the way until we're moving out. I'll go find myself a healer now. In the meantime, ladies, please try to keep out of trouble." He walked off, smirking to himself, and at Aleth's attitude. The silly girl kept appologizing.... She meant well so often....
--- Time Skip ---
Marle and her army had headed West out of Em's Crossing. West, and a bit north, following the river it was named to have crossed. Garnet continually grumbled about the cold over the next few days, but he was beginning to become used to it. It was more a grumble out of habbit now, than discomfort. Each night, sentries were set to watch, and the fires were kept lit. Each night, they rested and recovered, before moving on the next day. The red-headed hero-merc was starting to get bored, like Caelica had been back in town, much to his chagrine.
Then, something happened.
Garnet was walking near the Lance Captain when she raised her hand to call for a stop. At the moment, they were fairly high up on a cliffside which the road followed, which caused the swordsman to wonder why they were stopping. He could see Marle had seen something though.... Sure enough, within a few minutes, a young blondhaired pegasus knight had landed and was speaking to the armored knight. As he waited, Garnet reflected on how she'd gotten better at moving in her new armor over the last few days. At least she wasn't threatening to come crashing down every few hours anymore.
He moved up as she waved to him, and the rider moved off. He couldn't say he was surprised. With how often he was hanging around, he seemed privvy to a fair amount of activities here, anymore.
"What can I do for ya, Marle?" He asked, as he strode up.
[Beige]"Garnet, some of our scouts have seen some rubble at the bottom of the cliffs ahead. The rocks are too rough for the pegasi to land though, so I'd like you to take some people down there to check it out."[/beige]
Garnet considered the job. Recon duty. It was worse here than it had been in Etruria. That was for sure. Two-bit thugs and common briggands seemed to form tighter groups up here, and even nature wasn't above takin' a swing at you, if you were careless. Even so, he was ready to go.
"Anything else on the location, Captain?"
[Beige]"It's a few miles ahead"[/beige] The knight breathed, shifting the armor uncomfortably as they stood there. [Beige]"It's at the bottom of the cliffs though. So you're in for a hike."[/beige] Garnet couldn't help but notice the trademark smirk, as he thought of it as, as she made it towards him.
"Well, nothing wrong with that. I'll take a group and we'll get on down there then. We'll make it back to you once there's an idea of what happened."
[Beige]"Good. Meet up with us further up the road when you're done."[/beige]
"Awright...." Garnet gave a sloppy, half hearted salute, and turned to head up the road.... Marle didn't even want him to call her Captain. He doubted she'd mind his flavor of saluting too much.
"Recon, headdding out!" He called out as he jogged up the way. He spotted on man raise his hand and start down towards him as Garnet kept jogging to the front.
"Aw heck, Jordan. Pack your brass cymbals to cover up all the noise you make, ya'old snowhound." A few of the soldiers laughed as Garnet kept moving up to the front, followed now by Jordan, a middle aged militiaman conscripted by the orders Marle carried as she headed west. Most of the group liked him well enough, even though most of the Lance Captain's troops were still young.
"Recon team heading out. RSVP ASAP. And pack your own lunch!"

Aleth kept herself busy since she woke up in the early morning. Being an early bird was such a hassle at time as little others seem to be awake. She had been spending the last few hours of recovery doing whatever she can to help the other troops out. When there was no need for violence she felt at peace simply fetching others, manual labor and the like.
She leaned against the wall when she heard Garnet shout out something about recon. She was told to take it easy but she wanted to help out in any way possible. Without much thought she rushed over to Garnet.
"Room for one more?" she asked, as cheerful as always. It was like everything that happened the day before never did.

Caelica was walking around, doing nothing in particular. She had woken up and eaten something, when a group passed her. She looked up to examine the group, but in doing so she made eye contact with one of the people in it.
"Hey, you!" The man who she made eye contact with called.
"Aaand, what can I do for you this fine morning?" Caelica asked. She already had an idea of what was going to be said next, so she let out a big sigh.
"We're scouting the bottoms of these cliffs, would you care to come?"
"That looks like a pretty big scouting party..." Caelica said, once again eyeing the group. She then took a look at the area they would be heading to, which in all honesty she wasn't too sure the exact location of, but she picked a probable area. "And the walk seems like a long one." Caelica added, hoping to be exempted from this duty.
"Captain's orders."
That was all that needed to be said. "Alright, alright, I'll go." She finally told the man, joining the group.

Garnet smiled on seeing cheerful Aleth run up to him. He was glad about seeing her up. He wasn't really sure whether she ought to be up and about, but... well, magic healing was magic. As far as he could tell she was fine.
"Sure thing, Aleth. Just don't strain anything, huh? Last thing we need is for you to break your ribs again." It shouldn't be much of a concern. After all, he wasn't expecting trouble, and activity helped keep people in a productive mood. This in turn kept people happy, which helped them recover quicker. Nothing like a good day's work for recovering from injuries.... Except when he thought of it like that, it sounded all wrong.
They headed onward, picking up some more team members as they went, until they reached a point where it looked like they could begin a descent. A zigzag path led about halfway down the edge. Switchback trails, the hero remembered hearing once. It didn't look like it made it all the way to the bottom, but this was the best they had at the moment.
"So..., we're looking for some kind of mess of rubble. Some of the Captain's pegasi spotted it at the base of the cliffs. Probably not just a rockfall, if we're supposed to be checking it out." Garnet reached over his head and laced his fingers together, stretching.
[Yellow]"Once we get to the bottom, it's probably ahead a ways still too"[/yellow] Jordan chimed in. [Yellow]".... If it's something unnatural, it's probably man made. Any ideas? Maybe a wagon or cart?"[/yellow]
Garnet remained silent as he thought. He was mostly thinking about how he didn't like switchback trails though. Too open, and he couldn't help but think it would really hurt if he fell. Someone else could respond to Jordan.
