Michelle spoke once more, thanking Erica for all of her help. Her voice seemed sincere, it made Erica feel guilty for her earlier behaviour, but hopefully Michelle could understand her caution. Receiving the thank you felt nice. Erica had almost forgotten such a feeling, it even helped to relieve some of the tension. She sighed once again, this time a sigh of relief. It was peaceful, the only noticeable sound being the wind as it brushed across Kiki’s soft feathers. Erica’s head was busy scanning her surroundings, on a constant watch. She hoped her long plat wasn’t too much trouble for Michelle behind her. It extended around Michelle and flailed against the wind behind Michelle. Erica’s attention was drawn away from her current task, somewhat magnetically drawn to the sun. It was now late evening and the sun was beginning to set. A beautiful array of orange and pink colours spread out across the empty blue canvas of the sky. Had she seen it a million times it would always be beautiful to her. Truly, it was a sight to behold.
A gentle smile extended across the maiden’s rosy lips. As the pair continued soaring across the evening sky, it was becoming more apparent that the weight was beginning to get to Kiki. She had grown much slower since the start of the journey. However it was nothing to worry about, Kiki was a reliable Pegasus and a confident flyer, and Erica was equally as confident in her riding skills. The chemistry was admirable. A relieving site then began approaching the girls from the distant horizon. At first a small dark blur, but soon a large village, covered mostly by red brick buildings with tiled roofs, and ceramic paths extending in and around the village, closer off by a small wooden white fence. It was Rosewell!
“There it is, there’s my home… Rosewell! Kiki, down!”
The young Pegasus let out a exhausted neigh of relief, glad to finally have arrived at their destination. Erica turned back to Michelle and smiled warmly.
“Hold on, we’ll be landing soon!”
With little time for reaction Kiki made a long swift turn downwards, flying at an angle towards the village. While overhead they continued flying for another moment while locating Erica’s home. It looked somewhat different to the other homes. While it was still surrounded by an equal number of houses it was somewhat larger, located on a slightly higher slop with an open garden jut to the left of the house, and a large open space behind it with some form of wooden shed. Kiki’s wings flapped to slow down as the approached, coming to a steady land into the garden. Her wings blew only a tiny bit of dirt and caused the flowers in her garden to blow back, but thankfully they remained intact. Her hoofs landed with a gentle thud.
Erica fixed herself and let her hair dangle off the side of the Pegasus. Her head looked around the village. Nobody was outside; everyone had most likely headed inside for the evening, usually at this time business at the market was finished. Erica was a little worried, unsure as to whether or not the village was aware of whom Michelle was. It was a very peaceful area and rarely involved itself with other towns. However it was not totally excluded, it was a very friendly village with a strong sense of community. There was a possibility they were told about Michelle, or at least let officials hang posters. With little time to waste she lifted herself off Kiki and leaped to the floor in a large swing, her hair flying behind her in a large arc. Kiki let out another neigh glad to have some of the weight removed. Erica grabbed Michelle’s hand in order to help her down.
Once Michelle had gotten off the Pegasus Erica made sure she was good enough to stand, she was still unsure of the severity of her injury. She then turned to Kiki who was still equipped with her riding gear and even travelling bags of equipment it turns out she wouldn’t need for a while.
“Quickly now, inside. Head to the stable please Kiki, I will be there to see you shortly.”
With little response the Pegasus turned itself around very steadily until it was facing the opposite direction, and walked around the back of the house. Now that the Pegasus was gone there was a clear view of the side garden to Erica’s home. The edges of the lawn were decorated by beautifully arranged flowers, which were almost in full bloom. In the very center was a large tombstone, shaped in a simple cross with some text engraved on it. Michelle and Erica were at the door so reading it would prove impossible at this distance. A ceramic path covered the land in front of the house and led outside the white fencing that separated her house from the others. The house itself was also quite differently designed, the red brick was painted over by white paint and even more unlike the other homes hers was not a bungalow. The roof extended higher making the house actually two stories high. Vines and flowers extended up the walls of the cottage, they were neatly trimmed and shaped. Erica pulled the key from her pocket and unlocked the wooden arch shaped front door, pushing it open with her hip. Positioned right beside the wooden arch door was a rectangular small wooden board. It was attatched to the wall and had letters engraved on it. It read; Flora.
“Oh thank goodness, we’ll be safe in here no need to worry. I don’t think anyone recognized you.”
“We have arrived! There’s no need to worry anymore, we’ll be safe in my home. It doesn’t look like anyone recognized you either.”
As Erica gripped the handle with her right hand and pushed forward, her left extended outwards showing Michelle the interior of her home.
“Welcome Michelle!”
The house was very cozy and significantly large. The walls on the inside were painted a beige color, and the floor was covered by smooth wooden slates. Across from them was an opening in the wall, revealing a securely fit set of wooden steps that led upwards and turned left. To the left of them was a sitting room area. There was a fireplace on the same wall as the stairs but further left into the sitting room area. Beside it was a small and adequately long two shelf bookshelf. There were numerous books packed tightly onto the shelves. On the mantle place of the fireplace was a vase with one pink flower, centered and two photos to the left and right edges. One of the photos was Erica, a picture of her from not too long ago, and the other a handsome man of similar age. Across from the fire place was a coffee table, which separated the fireplace from a beige sofa. Matching armchairs were positioned on the other sides of the arm chair, facing one another.
To the right was a larger area, with a large wooden table and four seats positioned around it. There was another vase with the same flower as the one in the sitting room area, they were clearly picked from the garden outside. More pictures hung on the walls, one a wedding photo, some family photos and others just old pictures of younger people. Finally also to the right of the room across from the table was a kitchen area, closed off by a square of counters with an opening to enter from. No walls separated the rooms, the bottom floor was one open living area, significantly large with space enough to walk comfortably.
“Have a seat by the fire Michelle, I’ll have it started in just a minute.”
While Michelle made her way to the fire place Erica made her way to the right of the room. There were two windows one facing the front garden across from the kitchen, and another facing to the side of the house without a garden, this was next to the dining room area. Erica closed the curtains one by one before making her way to the left of the room and closing the curtains of the one window there. There were also windows upstairs but Erica would just make sure to close them before heading to bed.
The maiden made her way over to the fire place and knelt down, reaching from some fire wood in a bucket just beside the fireplace. She threw some logs on the fire and reached for a set of matches on the coffee table. A quick spark and the fire was alight and burning brightly. The warmth of the fire slowly eloped the room. Erica stood up and sighed gently.
“it’s good to relax. Can I get you anything?”
((OOC: Thank God, now it's starting to pick up, I was MAJORLY out of character for Erica the past few posts, sorry about that. Hopefully this very detailed post makes up for it))
