Ooc: Sorry, very short post.
Ic: Tearus smiled as Calvin blew past. He kept the same pace, but got there none the less. There was a stranger, a soldier explaining to a few strangers, mages, where the bandits might be headed. Tearus perked up at that, "Yes I believe he's right. I've only seen it from a distance but it could exist. Oh... My apologies, Tearus Martell, Lycian Burglar, and merry bandit. Or at least I was, til these lovely gentlemen, yes the ones on the ground suffering from a little chill, found out that I was a saboteur. Tearus Martell at your service sir. Oh, and Ma'ams"

Aaron appreciated the comments of skill being thrown his way, even if he had done the spell for more important reasons. Most of the people here probably wouldn't even have an idea of what it was he had done. He'd done little more than follow the basic direction and formula for the spell, so even he didn't fully comprehend what had happened. Once again, he decided to try his utmost to avoid casting something he didn't fully grasp. Hopefully, this had worked to scare most everyone off though.
He was a bit bewildered by all the activity that suddenly seemed to swarm around him. He and Lilith were one group. Isabel and Calvin were together.... And there were still another two people who had found their way to them in the assaulted town. It was difficult to keep things straight in the flurry of names and actions.
He focused in on Lilith for a moment, and gave her a weary, but warm smile as if to contrast the spell shaping he'd just done. He was glad she'd made it out fine.
"These spells are still incredible works of genius, whatever the weapons of the Scouring were like." He stepped a bit closer wearing an odd look on his face which mixed fear and excitement at what he'd done. He lowered his voice to more private levels as he continued, speaking for her ears alone.
"I think we almost had something bad there. Those heavy clouds forming over the town weren't part of my spell, but I think I may have triggered them. I'll have to study Fimbulvetr heavily before I try anything with it again...."
Hearing the tail end of a conversation about catching bandit stragglers, he had to make a decision. Go after them with limited energy, or simply let them escape. The latter wasn't in his nature, but would be the safer choice. It couldn't hurt to go keep an eye out though, right? He tried to keep his expression from betraying his feelings, as one of the new young men, one named Tearus, proudly stated himself a burglar. Just another thief. Thankfully, not one attacking them, but the Sage would remain alert now.
"We need to get there, Ark. Can you take us there? And we'll need to be on guard. The blizzard will really only work as a scare tactic. They won't be any more bothered by it than we were, except they'll be expecting more."

Lilith looked up at the sky after listening to Aaron, finding he was right. The clouds were churning in the heavens, growing darker by the minute. Surely, the spell was ended, but perhaps it had been a catalyst for a natural storm... If a powerful, but non-legendary, spell had caused this, imagine what the weapons used in the Scouring had done to the world? Lilith remembered reading something about an imbalance after the war, and made a mental not to look it up next time she was in a library.
She turned her attention to the rest of the group, taking the motley collection of fighters in. She spied a fellow shaman, and made a beeline to her. She looked to be slightly older than Lilith, but about in inch or two shorter. She smiled wide and began, "hi! I might have already said it, but I'm Lilith DeGarte! I study the elder magics as well, though I am hardly past my apprenticeship. In fact, I never really finished it, because of all the goings-on in Eturia! I left before I got forced to learn about how evil the heroes of the Bandit War were, it's a bunch of garbage if you ask me. Anyway, I am mostly self-taught, and I've made quite a few mistakes, so if you need advice on what not to do, you can sure ask me!"
Meeting new people made her feel close to her old self again. Or maybe she was just starting to feel a little better about her whole situation... "I hope once this is done we can find a tome dealer. I, uh, lost my Flux tome, and this Luna tome really takes a lot out of me!"

Isabel looked at Calvin for a second, raising an eyebrow at the lack of enthusiasm emanating from the bard. She let it go, for now, though, as introductions were made. The fact that Tearus was a thief didn't really bother here; after all, she was friends with an assassin, wasn't she? Why should a thief scare her, especially one with no magic? The other new arrival, Ark, said something about a bandit hideout somewhere nearby. The shamaness looked around, noticing that nobody else was taking charge. Finally, a chance to do some big leadership stuff before the sage took over! "Ok, yeah, what Aaron here said. Ark, to the bandits! Tearus, stay back with us mages. I assume you have a weapon?" she said, rapid-fire, looking around at the group. And then the other shaman was walking over to her, and Isabel stepped down. She was a bad leader anyway.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Lilith. My name is Isabel LeFury, magical prodigy extraordinaire! Well... Just between me and you, that might not entirely be accurate." Isabel said, after Lilith had introduced herself. Isabel smiled, taking note that she was from Etruria as well, and hadn't finished her apprenticeship either. Well, technically, Isabel was supposed to go back to Master Daryl in a few months, but whatever. There was only one thing that bothered her... "Hey, umm, Lilith... Forgive my ignorance, but what exactly is all this stuff about scourings and bandit wars? I never really, um, studied any of that..." Isabel said, looking at her feet. She looked up at her fellow shaman, and smiled a bit. "Well, maybe I'll take you up on that. And at the very least, you aren't making me very excited to try out my Luna tome." The blue-haired shaman chuckled, patting her pack.

Calvin remained deep in thought for only another couple of moments, the boy had a short attention span even when something baffled him as much as this. Thus within a few moments his sheepish smile returned to its former genuine self. His face lit up with childish glee and he bounced around with enthusiasm once again. A bandit stronghold?! Really!? So exciting they were all going to go kick some serious bandit but! Those meanies were going to pay for doing this to the village, Calvin was going to teach them all a lesson in friendship! Ignoring the whispering conversation happening between new friends Aaron and Lilith Calvin jumped back beside Isabel.
“Those mean old bandits, let’s show them not to mess with friends! And not to destroy friendly places, cause if they do then friends will punish them!”
Calvin fist pumped enthusiastically using up all the stored energy from standing still too logn a few moments ago.

Seeing that the majority of the group desired to give chase, Arkaeis obliged with a slight bow, pointing to a hill that was a little ways off from the village and covered in a small forest of trees and foliage.
"It doesn't look like much, but the bandit's have made a temporary bunker of sorts among the trees over there. If I had to guess, I'd say that their leader and a few of his more loyal cronies are regrouping at that location." He said, scratching his chin as he tried remembering how many bandits there were, exactly. "I saw around... twenty bandits at the start of the raid, but I dunno how many would've ran off after the storm. Anyways..."
Picking up his spear, he started shambling off in the direction of the bandit camp, using the long weapon as a walking stick.
"We should probably get going now, if we want to catch them. Not even their leader would stay long after a display of power like that, I think." The rogue contemplated aloud as he walked. He was being uncharacteristically enthusiastic about getting into a fight, but seeing as there were allies here with him that could use his help, he wouldn't hesitate to lend a hand. After all, one good turn will eventually deserve another.

Tearus could tell the green haired mage was unsettled when he remarked on his profession, but what could you do? Soldiers had honor but thieves were petty thieves. Well yes Tearus, good observation, thieves are thieves. Yes well, it was a drastic over simplification but it seemed to be working just fine. And that's the problem, it's too simple to make any sense. Well, sarcastic inner monologue aside he heard someone ask him a question.
"Tearus, stay back with us mages. I assume you have a weapon?" Tearus shifted his weight so that his cloak fell back, revealing the small curved sheath. Tearus said sarcastically, "Why yes miss, yes I do. I'm not the best shot with it however, so it works best when I'm in striking distance. I don't think I'd be very useful with you mages, though not much more with our soldier chap here." He smiled, trying to show he wasn't trying to be condescending with his sarcasm.

The green-haired spellslinger paid attention to Ark as he told of the bandit fort off the beaten path. It was a little ways away from the sounds of things, but close enough for them to make quick enough time to it. Part of the sage's mind pricked at the information Ark was giving them. It seemed a bit odd. Insider info. Of course, he could have been out at the start of the fight and seen the bandits making their move, but.... Bah.... the man was helping them now. When had Aaron let himself get so critical and suspicious about other people. Caution was one thing, but caution unchecked would grow to bitterness and mistrust. Or even paranoia. Time to rein himself in.
Aaron slipped the large, slightly chilled book he was carrying back into his bag, and pulled out an older, plainer, and much more worn book to replace it. He hardly needed to hold the thing to work it's spell anymore, but right now, it just felt reassuring to have something with a low draw on power which he could use in his hand.
"Less time for us to deal with them then. We'd better hurry if we want the chance." Aaron said, plunging off after the grey-haired young man. If there was going to be a problem ahead, Ark's lance would provide a bit of extra security, assuming he knew how to handle it in a fight.
He wasn't sure exactly how many people were coming along to help, but these were good people. They were going into danger to deal with a group of pillagers before someone else suffered, despite danger to self. The last battle had reminded Aaron that there were still plenty of dangers around, even for someone of his talents. Expertise in magic wouldn't stop a blade in the back, or an arrow in the heart. That was why he was starting to respect the others a bit more than he would someone merely fighting for their life.
As they came into view of the bunker, the Sage saw what the spearman had said was true. It was a ramshackle little hideaway, poorly hidden for someone looking for it, but likely to escape panicked or casual observation. Aaron hadn't actually spotted anyone yet, but that didn't mean it was empty.
He could simply torch the place, but that would be reckless, and would destroy anything within. They owed it to the surviving villagers to at least attempt to get their things back to them. He'd have to use surgical flares, instead of conjuring ruination on any enemies he spotted.
"Try and stay in groups of at least three. It'll be safer for us all." He could break up the people into teams, theoretically, but he needed to know what everyone did to do that effectively. Let's see.... Sage, two shamans, a thief, a soldier of some kind... what did blondy do?
"What do you do again?" Aaron asked, gesturing over towards Calvin.

Isabel brushed past Aaron as he asked Calvin his question, the shaman chuckling a little. "What, you haven't noticed already?" she asked. "Calvin here? He's a bard. So unless the big plan needs some epic music, consider Calvin to be deadweight." The blue-haired shaman looked back at Calvin, giving him a smile to show that she was kidding. She knew he had been helpful in mysterious ways before now, but the thing was, he relied a little bit too much on luck to be of any use. One of these days, that kid was going to have to pick up a way to defend himself. Maybe daggers or a full-time, slightly deaf mercenary with the patience of a mountain.
"So, groups of three then?" Isabel asked, glancing back at Aaron. She interlocked her fingers, cracking them backwards so her palms faced forward, and a small crackle of elder magic snapped into existence. She let it drop and fizzle just as quickly, but that was only because she had the information she needed from the test. "I've got enough in me now for maybe one Flux. Don't know about you or Lilith... I'll take Tearus and Calvin in my group, if that's okay. I'd be perfectly fine with taking Ark here over Tearus, but, you know, whatever floats your boat." The shaman then lifted her Flux tome from her bag, holding the heavy book in one hand, pointing it first at Tearus and then at Ark. "Just remember, whichever one of you I end up going in with, this book can crack your skull if I get enough momentum going."

Calvin turned his head to the new stranger had yet to introduce to himself. With a sheepish smile extended across his childish face he skipped on over.
“Hi friend! Welcome friend! I’m Calvin Toros. Let’s be friends!”
Calvin remained uninterested in the man’s explanations, wanting only to go stop those mean old bandits. However he of course heard the last thing he said, they had to get going! While the others chased after the grey haired man Calvin quickly skipped off, catching up to the others in a matter of seconds. He enthusiastically skipped alongside them as the conversation continued. He listened closely (enough) to the plan Aaron set out. Calvin’s face showed curiosity when Aaron presented a question. What did he do, duh he played beautiful music of course and made lots of friends.
“I make people happy, and I make lots of friends, and then I play a nice song!”
He whisked up a small scale across his hollowed flute and followed it with a chuckle. Taking no offense to Isabel’s deadweight comment but was flattered by her epic music statement.
“I’ve invaded lots of places before! Like remember that time Isabel, when we were in the big BIG old castle with Rayl and like Jya and Vally and stuff, and then I found the pretty fire emblem piece thing? That was fun! And its like that right, only with frightened bandits running away? I’ll be fine!”

Arkaeis put his hands up disarmingly, a sheepish smile on his face.
"Eheh... I... think I'm fine going with Sir Aaron and his friend, here..." He said, diverting his eyes from the young shaman's icy glare. "Remind me not to catch her in a bad mood..." He whispered to Aaron, as he dropped his pack to the floor and started sifting through it's contents. Unsatisfied with what he was finding, he starts emptying it's contents on the ground before giving up with an exasperated sigh.
"Now, where could it be...?" He wondered aloud.
The sly soldier then started rummaging through the pouches on his belt, and, after some time, triumphantly pulled out two shining, silver whistles, one of which he hung around his neck while offering the other to the bard, Calvin.
"Well, just in case you won't be fine, take this." Arkaeis said in response to the young bard's comment. "If something happens, and there are more bandits than we'd have thought, blow on it so we can get to your group's position. The same goes for us; if you hear the whistle come running." He continued, addressing the whole group, now. "Of course, we'd only need them for emergencies. Don't want to go alerting the whole camp for no reason. Just a precaution, really." He let out the last bit with a little nervous laugh, but hopefully, nobody noticed the anxiety in it.
"I say that, but why am I still getting this bad feeling...?" The rogue thought as he turned back to his own little team, waiting for Aaron to give direction. For some reason, he couldn't shake the thought of something wrong happening. Gripping his spear a little tighter, he determined to see this through now that he started it; if anything, he had his shield. But he was still inexperienced, nothing more than a few skirmishes under his belt, and the more he thought about facing the bandits inside, the more nervous he became. It was going to be tough.

A bard. A young man of music. A teller of stories and singer of songs. Something the sage had always admired, and wanted to learn on occasion. Aaron's respect for Calvin grew, though if that's all he did, the sage couldn't think of many uses for him in this situation. In the meantime, it looked like they had their three person teams organized by Izzy. He had no qualms with it. Neither did Ark, apparently. Aaron laughed a bit at Isabel's comment, but... it was a big book....
"Alright then. Looks like we have our groups. Be careful out there, and just crack any baddies over the head, alright?" The truth was he was more worried for Isabel, Calvin, and the thief. He knew he had a few fires in him before he dropped into his red zone, but if Izzy was already limited then that would cut down on the fire power on that end.
"Try to keep a low profile, Isabel. Don't bite off more than you can chew." Hopefully, their wouldn't be that many bandit's to deal with, and they could do so quickly and easily. Planning for that would be too easy though. Best to plan for how to turn worst case scenarios into victory instead. He knew of only one reliable way to do that. Blast the opposition to bits.... Sometimes easier said than done.
"C'mon Ark. Lilith..... Let's try to make sure they don't get away." Stealth was almost useless for the group. None of them were really dressed for it, and there was only so much you could do when approaching a hideout to remain hidden. They'd have to hope for the best as they moved closer.
"Ark, just try to keep any bandits away from us, alright."

When the weather had returned to normal, Lilith sat down, ignoring everyone else. She took off her bracers, the obsidian cold in her hands. There was very little power left in them, but she needed all she could get. She drained the bracelets of all their power, the delicate material crumbling to the volcanic dust from which it was formed.
Lilith meditated a bit, feeling more confidant in her abilities. Only minutes had passed, but Lilith felt much better, and knew she could cast spells again. Aaron's voice pulled her back to the present, telling her to stay with him in their search for the bandits. She stood up and brushed off her skirt. "Just tell me what to do, Aaron. I think if I stick to the simpler spells, I should be good for a while."

Tearus gasped a little when he was accused. "You don't trust me?" Tearus smiled at his own melo-drama, despite acting hurt. It seemed he was going to be with the young shamaness and her bard friend. This didn't seem as safe as going with the sage but beggars can't be...thieves? Tearus, that was ridiculous. I was on the spot. Spot or not, awful.[/color] Well now he was going to assault bandits. It wouldn't be best to be lost in thought. Then Tearus spoke up, "So are we going soon?"

A thief, an assassin, and a ninja combined could not muster one tenth of the sheer sneaking prowess Elias was showing right now. He slunk around stealthily. Sluuunk. Then he shuffled secretly, shimmied silently, sneaked surreptitiously, lurked... lasciviously? This was the place that had the bandits, he studied, he planned, he readied for this moment. He would burst in, quietly, cause a commotion, silently, and totally defeat them all while they were unaware. He was waiting for the majority of them to leave, because even the unconquerable Elias, the mage of pure crimson wasn't immune to the unchecked epidemic of axes in the face. Also for some reason, he couldn't heal his self with his staff seriously that was so stupid he just couldn't believe it and he really wished he'd had picked up elder magic or something.
There was some commotion in the distance, and a distinct smell of peaches in the air, it smelled delicious. He wasn't paying attention, but the sky was grumbling in it's grumpy ways, threatening a downpour. Which was weird because the skies were mostly clear a little bit ago, also there seemed to be some kind of cold breeze rolling in that let up after a while. Why was this place so odd? Maybe he should of followed those bandits, they probably were doing something cool. Of course he didn't, because this was probably his only chance to break into this place and take out these bandits. For Lycia! For The Crimson Mage!
A flash of red and white cloth snuck around the woods, leaving his steed behind in that nice little town that seemed perfectly fine, he'll be fine. It's hard to be a thiefsassininja with a large horse hanging around you, begging for apples and carrots like some kind of addict.
Oh hey other people! Wait, that wasn't good. They were going to get themselves KILLED. Bandits were crazy dangerous, and a heal staff doesn't fix dead. "Hey! You guys shouldn't go that way! There's bandits and stuff! They'll kill you and stuff!" He shouted quietly. "You should go that way, there's a town." He pointed towards the perfectly fine and totally not ransacked and icy town. He wondered if they could see him, perhaps he was being just too darn stealthy for his own good.
