Elly's gaze followed Clair's arrival to the camp, her vision shifting in and out of focus. The teenager shook her head, eyeing the waterskin she carried thirstily; her throat felt parched, her mouth dry, as though she had just awoken from a day of sleep. She had done that once, when...oh, never mind. Her mind was far too fuzzy to reminisce about that particular experience. She braced herself, rising to one knee, placing her hands on the other for support as she pushed herself to her feet. She swayed dangerously in place, yet she managed to stand. It did some good to clear her mind; she did not feel quite as woozy as she had while lying down. Perhaps all she needed was a bit of exercise and fresh air. She looked around slowly; there was no sign of Nayru nearby. The thought saddened her slightly; she had been hoping to find her nearby. Her friend's smile and incomprehensible words would have cheered her up immensely.
The girl walked towards Clair timidly, her steps unsure. It had been okay to follow them during the battle, but would she appreciate a stranger talking to her now? She hadn't exactly done much to help, as far as she could recall...only get in their way and into trouble. "Hey, uh...hi?" She paused before the older woman, wincing as her vision swam for a few moments. "Um, Clair, ah...ma'am? May I sit?" She rubbed her left arm self-consciously. "I...sort of...felt pretty alone out there, and thought, well, if ya didn't mind the company..." She felt her ears heat up as she stammered, trying to explain herself. "Yeah, uh, anyways, it's okay if not, I just wanted t' talk for a bit!"
The girl smiled nervously, her tone shifting to a more subdued one for a moment, the question she dreaded to ask heavy on her mind. "Y'know...are Nayru and Heather 'kay?" Her voice trailed off, uncertainty filling her words as she held her breath, afraid. She had a vague memory of being carried, and thought she'd seen Nayru, but there was so much blood...the girl shut her eyes, not wanting to recall the earlier hours of the day. No, she wasn't ready for that yet. Perhaps not ever.
