Name: Veigue Magnus
Class: Myrmidon --> Swordmaster
Hair Color: Jet black with a mixture of white.
Eye Color: Ruby red.
Age: Twenty-three.
Appearance: Veigue stands as a tall, yet not too tall individual. Generally wearing a blue, short sleeved myrmidonian shirt of Sacaen style, he also wears a dark blue jacket over it. He usually keeps his black pants legs tucked into his boots, as having them down loosely may prove a hindrance in his movements. The Sacaean carries himself as lightweighted as possible, for he didn't like having anything slowing him down. As a serious speed fighter, he makes sure nothing limits him to fighting at his absolute best.
The young man exudes a very calm air around him, as his quiet nature could show a lot of his character without him even needing to speak...even though he's a man of very few words. Being the type who'd rather express their feelings with action, words were hardly necessary unless they were needed. This tends to either shove others away, or actually pull them closer towards him to get more out of him. The latter...he's sort of uncomfortable with since Veigue's generally not too good with "people", but his personality helps him from being a jerk along with his terrible social skills. He at least manages to keep his polite nature regardless.
Affinity: Fire
Born in: Veigue was born in Sacae. Due to not being able to get much out of his family and their origins, it's unclear as to which tribe he rightfully belongs to. There were hints towards the Kutolah, due to being with the tribe for several years.
Story: When he was little, Veigue spent most of his time under the care of his mother. With his father rarely being at their home and spending more time with his sister, Veigue wasn't too attached to his father. Ironically, his father despised him. The uneasiness ran deep, as every time he looked at Veigue, he saw nothing but disappointment.
Veigue himself didn't notice this until he became a little older. He could never live up to his father's expectations of being a swordsman of Sacae. They had a unique fighting style that used both the sword and sheath, as it was passed down secretly throughout their family for generations. Veigue could never do too well with it, so his father placed less and less faith in him as the days and months passed. Soon, his father left him in the dark about his family's origins and cursed the fact that he had a son in the first place, thus placing all his love into Veigue's older sister.
More years passed and when Veigue was around 14, he overall became better with his family's style with the help of his sister, Lena. But his father wasn't pleased due to still not having interest in his son's potential. This caused some unneeded tension between the two, eventually resulting in Veigue to respond in kind: Hating his father. While he respected the other members of his family and the fighting style given to him, he referred to his father as a "disgrace" to Sacae.
They always treasured a family sword (A Wo Dao) in which was in father's possession. Veigue felt that a man who can't love family isn't worthy of such a weapon. As such, he challenged his father, who was a swordmaster, to gain possession of the sword...to prove that he wasn't a weakling and that the sword should be given to someone more worthy. Though he didn't have any means of using it himself. He planned on keeping it with him just to prove a point.
They fought and Veigue was ultimately defeated. It was then that his father decided to be so bold as to attempt to take his son's life after the battle...to apparently rid the world of such an unworthy son. Before he could be struck down, Veigue was surprisingly saved by his older sister, who delivered a killing blow to her father unexpectedly. She also felt that their father was a disgrace to Sacae for feeling the way he did.
Veigue knew that his sister would have to answer for her crime...even though it was to save him. As such, when people questioned his father's death, he announced that he was the murderer to save his sister. This resulted in him being exiled from the Kutolah and he left on a quest to travel the world.
Before he could go, his sister obviously confessed to counter-save her brother. She was exiled and Veigue was relieved from banishment...but he still chose to leave the Kutolah after his mother died from an illness. He took a separate path from his sister and decided to go on his desired quest.
Before they went separate ways, Veigue's sister gave the Wo Dao to him...but told him not to use it until he felt he was worthy enough to wield it. Since they were the only known members of their family, they still gained rights to the sword. It was then that he agreed and traveled all over Elibe to hone his skills. He took a job as a mercenary during his travels.
He often returns to Sacae to enjoy the plains in which he grew up in...but never returned to his village due to the past. While continuing to be a traveling mercenary, Veigue could never forget the events of his life. He grew a silent personality, but still remained a strong-willed and friendly person in character.
Personality: As stated above, Veigue isn't much of a talker. Unless he knows someone really well or they are a friend, then talking to him would be like having a chat with a brick wall (Not literally, of course). He only uses words whenever they are strictly necessary...or if he's in the mood, to make a small joke, which is rare to come across. He nearly silence himself because due to being on bad terms with several people throughout his entire life, it's hard for him to trust or befriend. He feels as though he was a magnet for trouble. People didn't seem to like him...even his own kind. He never knew the reasons either. As such, he closes himself in and keeps to himself unless he's working.
But he still remained a kind-hearted and respectful individual. While he doesn't gain much respect from others, he still holds on to giving much of it to others in highest priority. He didn't gain advice from his father, but his mother and sister were his only reliable means of learning. He was taught to always respect others...even if they were to antagonize him. To never stoop down to anyone's level. Veigue took that advice and made his own view on respect, coming to the conclusion that no matter how cruel, evil, or disrespectful one may be, he'd treat them just as he would as a friend.
Even in battle he holds honor in high regard. While he doesn't hesitate to take a life, he still debates to himself if they really deserve to die or not. Unless it's an enemy he's forced to kill. If he defeats an opponent and they managed to live from their wounds, he won't attack them anymore unless they become persistent and wants to deal more harm to him. That's when he instantly makes the decision to deal the final blow. Much to his Sacaen heritage.
While he doesn't have any friends, he would respect them more than anything else if he did. If he feels as though he can trust someone enough, he'd happily give his life to make sure they are treated well by others and not harmed in the slightest. This is where his personality can change a bit. If someone or a group of people he cares about are in danger, then he'd do everything he could to save them. If an enemy stood in his path to protect the one he's loyal to, he'd run them over in the process. Blocking his way to protect is like hurting the one he cares about.
He also tends to never give up until defeated completely. His strong will carries him through many obstacles that he has to face, even if his life is on the line. If he needs to take a beating in battle to try and find a way to learn the opponent and win, then he'd take it. If he was trying to help someone and he was slowed down by an injury, he'd push through and pretend like he wasn't even injured in the first place, despite the pain. He never allows his determination to be swayed. Whether or not it's a weakness, he doesn't care.
Veigue tries his best to better himself overall. He knows that he has limits and he wants to surpass them to improve his skills...as well his ability to complete a task more efficiently. Being put down by his father by how weak he was back then, he honestly believed so. If he was told he was weak, then it's was just that. He needs to get stronger. Nothing more, nothing less. He aims to perfect his family's fighting style to the point where it surpassed his despised, yet deceased father's skill and his well-respected sister, whom he has no idea if she still lives to this day. But he remembered how they fought...and going off memory alone, it gave him the drive to keep his training going.
If he meets someone and admires their skill, he'd most likely challenge them to see how far he's gone in training and how much he's grown in his own skills. Even if the person is vastly stronger and more skilled than he, he'll keep on training and challenging until he wins. That tends to make him a bit stubborn.
