"Or, you know... Throwing it at me..." Isabel muttered unhappily, kicking idly at the street following Lyrt's "oh, poor me, I fell and hurt my sword" routine. It was always annoying when people twisted their stories so they wouldn't get, you know, thrown in jail or something. The shaman raised an eyebrow at her thoughts, staring vaguely at the weapon smith (who in turn glared at her for a moment, making a "what's wrong with her" look to Lyrt and Jya, before getting back to doing whatever it was that he had been doing before they arrived) as she sorted through her thoughts. Okay, so, to be fair, perhaps just telling people that you launched your sword like flaming cow feces at a defenseless, young practitioner of the Elder Magic wasn't the best idea... Isabel was then pulled back into reality as the smith gave Lyrt the bad news.
The shaman considered this carefully; if her own weapons were destroyed, how would she feel? She pondered for a moment, wondering if those "normal" people were as attached to their graceless weapons as mages were to their tomes. Her own Flux tome, which she had been looking over the signs of wear and tear not a minute before, had been with her for her entire adventuring career so far; if it were to be irrevocably damaged, beyond just being unable to cast the intricate magic detailed within, Isabel knew she would sorely miss the yellowing pages and worn leather cover that had seen all the times, good and bad, with her so far. Was that what Lyrt was feeling right now? Had that sword been on insane adventures, the likes of which this smith couldn't even begin to comprehend? Had it stared down a charging cavalier, defended her from the swinging axes of a bandit, cut down an archer that had been threatening her and her allies? It was always so hard to tell these things without asking people, and now was really not the time to get into a long discussion about a stupid, broken hunk of metal's history.
"Etruria? Jya said Ilia she was from, and you are from Etruria? How interesting, please do tell me about it."
Oh right, she had said that delightfully idiotic statement of where she had come from. Hmm. "Oh, well, it is a nice enough country, I guess." Isabel started, frowning a little. "I don't know, though. I never saw too much of it. I lived on my family's estate for most of my life..." She stopped there, thinking. She wanted to just summarize her views of her homeland for Lyrt, but... She couldn't think of anything. Even when she had been with Master Daryl, she had been far too busy not studying with him to hear anything about the outside world, and her time at her parent's estate had meant she had never really been a part of the things that made her country tick. Who was in charge of Etruria right now? Who was calling the shots? Did they have a family? Where was the capital? Isabel took a step back, both mentally and physically, almost falling over. Holy... "... And then, well, you'd better ask somebody else..." Even Calvin, with all his oblivious, optimistic ways, would probably be better equipped to tell this girl about Etruria.

The young girl had tried to get Hiro to join her in bed, looks like he was right and the girl was madly in love with him. It had been a while since he was able to pull a girl that young, maybe he should take this one slow to savior the moment a bit. It looked like it was time to romance her up some. Hiro stood up and walked over towards the bed and sat next to Mel, he reached towards her head and ran his finger through her hair and ended with his hand on her check. Staring into her eyes he spoke softly "I don't know why I didn't notice before but you have the most beautiful blue eyes I've ever saw. They're as blue as the cleanest waters in all of the ocean, I could get lost at sea if I wasn't careful while gazing into those eyes." Hiro leaned in and kissed her on the forehead before retracting his hand and laying next to her in the bed.
Even if they don't fool around tonight Hiro planned on ditching the girl in the middle of the night. Yeah sure she'll be heart broken but at the same time she wouldn't be the first nor the last. One thing Hiro knew he would have to find time to gather more supplies before leaving town, he used up everything he had left at the rebel bust and breaking her out. By the looks of the room he wouldn't be able to make the smoke bombs right away, once he gets out of town and at a safe distance he'll have to get to work. After getting out of this town it's going to be one hell of a ride, he should start to document this crap.

The thoroughly massive man, sitting in the back of the inn that familiar young lady and an unfamiliar man had entered and rented a room from, considered the best course of action. Mel had gone and either entered a relationship wherein she wasn't trying to get something from someone (which had a very low likelihood of being the case here), or that man was taking advantage of his old companion. So, what to do, what to do... Risk ruining something with his presence, as was so often the case? Or perhaps he should leave them alone, and leave Mel behind in a situation way over her head? Joel rumbled, reaching down to the hilt of his axe at his waist, which was covered by the large amount of cloth he had had fashioned into a cloak to fit his size. To go on up and risk hurting a friend, or to not go up and risk the same thing?
"Sir." Joel said softly, the man behind the counter clearly not paying attention. When the man did finally turn to look at Joel, he was physically taken aback, almost walking into another lady walking behind him. "I was hoping that you could tell me which room the lovely couple that just came in were given. You see, I'm an old friend of the young missus, and I have not seen her since before she was married." The Nabataean man rambled on, giving a somewhat-decent explanation for his motives. The dwarfed clerk stood there, gaping, for a moment, before nodding hurriedly, as if afraid that the large, cloaked man would hurt him if he did not comply. And then they were off, ascending the stairs, the clerk leading and Joel only a few short steps behind.
A huge hand rapped upon the door, and then went down. "Thank you, sir." Joel said, smiling softly. "If you would be so kind as to leave us be, however, I would appreciate it." The clerk nodded quickly again, and was soon out of sight. Joel raised an eyebrow at that, shrugged, and then knocked upon the door to Mel's room again.

There was a knocking at the door, Hiro wanted to ignore it and focus on the girl before him but the asshole began to knock again. They seemed pretty impatient knocking so soon again, they haven't said anything... Was it one of the assassin's and they didn't speak so Hiro couldn't recognize them and duck out the window? He may have to fight his way out, damn that plan sucked already but he had no other option since he was out of supplies.
"Don't you move a muscle sweetie, I'll see who's interrupting our moment." Hiro winked at Mel before he got out of the bed, he walked over to his bag and pulled out his dagger and put it's sheath back into it as he attached it to his belt. Hiro slowly opened the door to see a man standing there. Sigh, it was now or never swinging the door open faster he rushed the man and had his dagger to his chest. "Who the f**k are you and what the hell are you doing here?" Hiro tried to sound as intimidating has he possibly could, but it wasn't to much success.

Now that Jya thought about it, she didn't quite recall telling Lyrt she was from Ilia. Actually she might have made a mistake in her wording. It would be best to clarify things while they were waiting.
"Umm, Lyrt, I'm from Etruria, when we met, I just came from Ilia," she said, feeling better that things were clear. Actually she did not know much about her home nation either. Now that she thought about it, she couldn't remember what town she came from and might have difficulty finding her way back if she ever planned to return.
"Although that was a long time ago, so many things seem to change," she said, with a tinge of disappointment from her realization. She began to continue say something else but was cut off from a gruff cough.
"Shouldn't you be somewhere else?" he said clearly to her face. There was a moment of pause before she realized what he meant. Of course the man was right but she didn't think it had to be so soon. Jya nodded a reply and looked back to the others after beginning to step towards the direction of the arena.
"Looks like I better get going, see you soon, unless you're all done?" she asked but took no time to hear a reply. Instead, she just headed straight towards the arena.

Mel blinked quickly at the sound of someone knocking hard on the door to the room and sat up immediately. It was highly unlikely that it was anyone looking for her, and by the other's reaction it was clear that he was having similar thoughts. Finding it best to ignore the momentary distraction she turned her attention back to the chicken headed dunce of a man.
Then the knocking intruder struck again, disrupting her plans of revenge on the other man for the moment. Her shoulders fell as she sighed, the prey leaving her side to address the little annoyance behind the door. The pointy eared girl glared at the closed door as her unfortunate companion approached it and slowly pulled it open.
It took her less than a moment to recognize the hulking mountain of a man beyond the doorway, and even less than that to react. She slumped her body and pushed her hands behind her back, mimicking the look of bound wrists. Carefully Mel relaxed her face and shut her eyes, it would all look like Hiro was the one at fault if he took the scene as she expected. He would seem to be at fault and Joel would do her work for her so kindly, even if it was not nearly as entertaining as the revenge plot she had gone over again and again in her head.

Lyrt listened politely to Isabel and bobbed her head as she hugged the sword to her chest. How could one not understand their country though? The blue haired mage's words confused her greatly, was pride in one's country not common among foreigners? It was a strange concept yet she did not want to question it and make the other uncomfortable.
She glanced up to Jya when she commented on her nationality and hurriedly apologized for her mistake. Though the other was already off heading towards the arena and was likely to have not heard her. No matter though, she would just apologize later in the day.
Picking up her pace she dashed after the older girl, not willing to lose sight of her again after all the worry she had been put through. "It was truly nice to have met you Isabel" she called hastily over her shoulder as she followed after Jya.

"Yes, yes, of course... Good luck, have fun... A pleasure..." Isabel mumbled, too busy still trying to produce even the tiniest little detail of her homeland to really notice that her friend and the friend of her friend were running off without her. But, hey! Still, not a thing. Sure, there had been visitors to her home when she was little, but they usually either didn't talk to her at all or, when they did, she was never curious about (or at least didn't remember asking about) her homeland...
...
Oh, crap!
"Hey, wait up!" Isabel shouted, starting motion with a body-jolting skip into a full-out sprint to catch up to the assassin and the sword-flinging girl. Solomon probably hated her for this, but, no. Not again. She wasn't going to just let a friend run out on her again, not without good reason, or on her terms. Or sneaking, like the first time with Jya and Valorian. Speaking of that green-haired cripple, she still had questions that Jya needed to answer, and she wasn't going to get away from the great Isabel LeFury so easily! The thought brought a determined grin to her face, thinking of how Calvin always seemed to think that she was the greatest thing since sliced bread, and then... Then she was winded.
How, after months and weeks of travelling, could she still be fairly out of shape? Okay, she was walking most of the time, not running across the countryside like a total nutcase, but still... The shaman slowed down to a light jog, trying to catch her breath, let her heart slow down for a minute, and then she was back to a sprint, trying to make up for the lost time.

Now, Joel may have been slightly more intimidated by the stranger had it not been almost comical the way he was reaching up with his knife to hold it at Joel's chest, but give credit where credit is due and all that; "A" for effort. Joel glared down at the man, resting his own hand upon the hilt of his axe at his waist, the outline of which almost detailed in his cloak now, and then allowed his eyes to scan the rest of the room. Mel appeared almost defeated, which meant...
"Name is Joel. And as to my purpose here...?" Joel frowned, lifting up his cloak slightly to draw his axe from its position at his side, allowing the brown cloth to fall back into position once the large tool was drawn. He moved backward only slightly, brandishing the recently-sharpened axe in front of his chest... And then seemed to change his mind, switching the axe over to his left hand and letting it rest on his shoulder. "Well... I'm not one for violence, believe it or not. All I really wanted to do was check up on a friend." He stopped there, pointing at Mel. "So, now I ask you two a question each. It is only fair, after all." The "mountain of a man" stood back, refastening his axe at his side, still not taking the shorter, knife-equipped man seriously. "First, why is your first reaction to someone knocking on the door to assault them? And second... Mel, are you all right?"

Hiro studied the man, he had seemed to try to intimidate him as well, the claim of disliking violence had to be a lie. Was Mel an agent of Kraft? Was her job to lower Hiro's defenses while this meat-head did the dirty work? He was larger than him and Hiro didn't know how to fight which was the problem, but at least the door was too small for an effective attack. Maybe he had should have learned how to murder with ease from 'Hand of Death' then this man would be a mountain of a corpse.
"Don't you take a step any closer, I'll f**k**g kill you if you do." Turning his head a little towards Mel but keeping his eyes on the man "Do you know this man? If you do how?" Hiro was tempted just to kicks him in the stones and gtfo.

Mel let out a loud grumble when the two men addressed her, she was supposed to appear as if she was knocked out! Both of these morons just couldn't seem to understand what a normal reaction to an innocent young girl out cold on a bed was. Biting down on the inside of her cheek she sat up on the bed with an exasperated sigh.
"Hmmm? This man? I am not sure...." Slowly she shuffled towards the two with her blue eyes trained on Joel curiously. The question still stood as to why he was there, she doubted he would go to such lengths to stop her from going through with her revenge plot. Yet...Sabin...the lumpish lout, he could have called him out here after she had been arrested by the incompetent guards.
Her stomach growled loudly as she stretched up to wrap her arms around Hiro's shoulders, large eyes of innocence peering over at the blond curiously. "Why are you here? Uh...Papa? I was busy with my..." Mel's eyes flashed dangerously as she regarded Hiro, letting Joel know precisely what her intentions with him were. "My...l.o.v.e.r~" She stretched each sound teasingly as she nuzzled up into his neck, her eyes still trained on Joel, the icy pools seeming to sing KNOCK HIM! KNOCK HIM IN THE GUT!

Joel growled almost reflexively as the shorter man once again threatened him, prompting Joel to raise his axe once more. For intimidation purposes, of course. If this man did try to pull something, Joel could twist his axe and use the blunt of it to knock this repulsive man out, but even then... That wouldn't be preferable. Joel remained quiet for a moment, pushing his way into the room slowly, listening to and watching Mel. So, she was trying to pull the wool over at least one of the two men's eyes, if not both... Joel was inclined to believe that the silver-haired thief, however, was only trying to get at this man here.
Which raised the question; what was the story there? Had this man slighted her in some way, was he related to Zero and Mel just wanted to make his life hell, was she just interested in stealing everything from him, or what? It was so hard to do right when you couldn't tell who was in the wrong...
"Lover, you say?" Joel commented, watching Mel intently. "I see. Well, in that case, I suppose that I have nothing left to do here... I apologize for my intrusion. Unless..." The large man, turning his back to leave the room, looked over his shoulder at Mel again. "There is anything you would like me to do, so long as I am here?"

Hiro reached for the door and held it for a second. "Actually, you were just leaving remember?" Hiro then shut the door. Hiro walked over to drag the chair towards the door and propped it under the handle. He didn't want any more intrusions or intruders "Now... Where were we?" Hiro walked over towards Mel running his fingers through her hair, looking deeply into her eyes. A sly grin ran across his face "Oh yea, now I remember. I was about to..." Hiro's fingers clinched into a fist pulling Mel's head back by her hair. He repositioned himself so she couldn't hit his family jewels, again.
"Look bitch, I know your game. Oh ho ho ho, you almost had me there for a minute. In an hour or less I would have been completely vulnerable but you two rushed it. Where the hell does he find you failure of assassins? Failures-R-us?" Still keeping a tight grip on her hair Hiro spit in her face. Finally letting go of her hair he walked towards the window and opened it. Why did they have to get a room on the second story, at least those two didn't have back up waiting just in case he caught on and tried to make an escape.
Was this really their first attempt at assassination? God they were such rookies. There wasn't anything to break his fall, he would have to land as gracefully as he could. "Mel, if that is your real name. Remember this day for you almost caught the great Hiro with your little trap."

Hiro took a deep breath, it was now or never. Being on the second story the fall wasn't enough to cause death but landing wrong would lead to broken bones, which happened to him before. Jumping up he planted his feet on the window seal and slide out going down the wall and pushing off into a roll as he neared the ground. Holy crap it worked! He needed to move fast, that little winch could already be calling the oaf to chase after him. He darted into a clothing shop looking for a hooded cloak, it took him a few minutes but he found one to his liking, purple with a hood along with a face mask, purchasing it he quickly changed into it walking out with the hood up. He had supplies to buy now and then he was to skip town. He gathered enough things for what he felt was needed, along with that he got a blank book, some ink, and a quill.
