Genkumaru of tribe Kaelas.
Class: Myrmidon (Swordmaster.)
Hair Color: Dark brown
Eye Color: Grey
Age: Twenty-eight.
Appearance:
Clothes: Dark blue Sacae clothing with white fur lining at the openings.
Born in: Sacae - Near the center of the country to the chieftain of the Kaelas tribe, in the waterfall surrounded village, Athasnan.
Story: Genkumaru was born into a peaceful Sacean tribe, the Kaelas. They are the descendants of Lady Hanon's fourth child, Kaelas. Gen was born as the first son to the chieftain, Lord Genmaru, a powerful Yeoman of great skill, and his mother, Lady Varya of tribe Kutolah, a great Swordmaster renowned for her speed. His formative years were as normal as anyone else's, he learned the ways of his people through archery, swordplay, and riding, however he began excelling at swordplay far more then the others. His personal goal from the time he could talk, was to unite all of the children of Lady Hanon, and rule the country benevolently; whilst raising it to the status of Lycia, Eturia, and Bern.
As the firstborn of the chieftain, he was kept close to home and was not allowed to leave the safety of the falls. This did not change until he was sixteen, when he was allowed to go on a hunt with his father. It was here that he showed his true skill. Their hunt brought them near the border of Lycia, where they were attacked by bandits. Their band of twenty nomads plus, Gen and his father, were met by a horde of forty or so bandits, and their leader, a particularly nasty Mercenary. As the horde encroached upon them, Gen's father ordered a firing line be formed, Gen being so so with a bow, dismounted as he took a defensive stance in front of the group, hoping to be able to defend his tribe men from any of the enemy that made it through the arrow volleys.
As the first wave of ten charged in, they were shot down indiscriminately, followed by the next group. The third however, grabbed the body's of their fallen, and used them as shields as they charged through. They crossed swords with Gen and two of the hunting party who had drawn their blades. Gen tried his best however, yet still wasn't any match for the hardened bandits, the end result was having gashes and cuts all over his body. As the final wave charged in, his fathers troopers dismounted to meet them, and cut them down swiftly. Genmaru ran to his son as he helped him up, unfortunately the bandits leader came upon them at that moment, and almost dismembered Genmaru's right arm, causing him to drop Gen back to the ground. In agony he struggled to stand as he drew his blade feebly and stood in front of his father. The man came again succeeding in landing a glancing blow on Gens torso causing him to stagger slightly, but still manage a quick slice that chopped off three of the mans fingers on his left hand.
Gen wouldn't last much longer, and so he began fighting wildly, taking blows but dealing them as well. Using his mothers style which focused on lunges, stabbing, and parrying, he quickly began to overcome the higher skilled opponent, as no matter your skill, fighting against a fluid style is always difficult. Gen eventually pushed the bandit back but fell to his knees beginning to bleed out slowly. The bandit decided to take this chance to kill him as he bounded upon him, being shot down by Genmaru swiftly. Genmaru approached his son and helped him up,lifting him onto his horse and rode for home.
In the years to follow Gen became stronger, and his father became weaker, having sustained a blow to his sword arm so terrible that he could no longer fight. By age twenty Gen was made Chieftain of the Kaelas, following his fathers death. Gen would become bitter so to speak, having encountered an outsider for the first time which led to his fathers death. Subsequently his tribe became more and more isolated, only interacting with fellow Sacaens. Gen had left to join the rebellion, but he quickly became disillusioned with it, and left to become a Mercenary. He did make a great friend in Selibas during his time with the rebellion, so it wasn't wholly negative for him. He has been roaming to improve his skill but, with recent news, he has headed for Selibas's defensive force, aiming to aide his fellow Sacean however he can.
