Story:
Vanadis was born to a family of an Ostia soldier and his florist wife. Her father was only a low ranking officer, but was nonetheless a proud one that his daughter always looked up to. And therefore, the girl trained tilting with a stick before she can even remember.
In he memory, her city Ostia had always been in war. The first one was bandit war which she can remember vaguely, as it happened when she was around ten, but what she learned was the chivalry of her father. After the war was over, the city had been in rebuilding state. Vanadis enlisted as soon as she became age eligible, with her skill in tilting she inherited from her father. Unlike most skilled instructors, her footman father had no special technique or skill to pass on her, however, he gave her more than enough basis.
Her life in the army was peaceful as far as she remembered, however, that was only until the night the Etrurian fire mages commenced a swift invasion and engulfed her beloved Ostia with hell flame. All hopes for rebuilding was gone in a single night. Vanadis’s squire squad were mostly slain, same goes for her father’s, but they were fortunate enough to survive.
The foreign invasion forced her family to retreat to a relative’s house in Caelin, just for temporary. A year later, they returned to Ostia just to witness the permanent destruction. While her mother decided to open up a new florist shop in order to live on, it was not the same for her father who was unable to accept such reality. Being emotional and not well-educated, he later ended his own life to follow his dear lord and comrades. The message to his daughter in his farewell letter was to tell her to travel the world, with a final blessing that she finds her great lord someday.
A few months passed, once she made certain that her mother can live on her own, Vanadis started her own saga. She debut as a lance for hire in order to gain herself some golds for living, and earned enough to buy herself all needed equipments. The wandering knight traveled about Lycia, and sometimes its neighborhoods, so that she knew her way around. However, the free knight didn’t yet meet any great leader to be the true master.
