Name : Lynessa Heartwater (Lynessa of Snowfall clan, an ice dragon clan)
Class : Manakete
Hair Color : Violet
Eye Color : Emerald green
Age : She was around 600 before the Scouring ended, makes her probably around 1500 - 1600 now
Appearance :
While in human form she makes herself look 20-25 years old. Her human disguise has some flaws, minor flaws but sometimes gives her questions and stares. For example, she has sharp ears and the facial structure isn't like humans from any race in Elibe. Well, it gives her some exotic look, at least. Aside from those, she has good understanding about how human body works, like how it properly work and its composition. Most people will just see her as "different" but won't suspect her, although some people with knowledge about dragons' transforming ability might notice her disguise when she draws out her power.
Lynessa has a good look, often praised for her beauty by her families and friends. How the female dragon behave and speak adds to her charm. She often brings herself in dignified manner which comes from her serious and polite personality, although she can be a little cruel and pushy sometimes. She doesn't put much effort trying to look good, despite having some endearing dresses in her wardrobe. Quite taking a liking at practical outfits, she usually looks simple in her own style. She is quite tall, but not tall enough to compare to most men.
Her dragon stone takes form of a green crystal attached to a necklace around her neck. The necklace itself is made from mixture of steel and silver so it won't break easily. She tends to hide it and be protective when people inquires to look at the beautiful crystal.
Her dragon form :
Not much different from her humanoid form, after transforming into a dragon she still has the calming aura around her. Dragons are usually pictured as aggresive and dangerous, but those aren't always true. She might look a little monstrous but those clear green eyes is quite attractive and peaceful. in their own ways.
Her scales glow in light blue color while the skin is slightly darker, those hard scales protects the softer skin below from harm. Up there, two white horns shoot out straight from the head, curving a little at the tip. Snow white furs cover some parts of her body, mostly the joints, in the part where the neck and the body connect the neck, and also trailing down the back of her head toward the neck. Both her neck and her tail are very long, with the tail is even longer than the neck and the body combined. Her size is considered as fairly average in dragon sense but of course most humans would easily find her very gigantic. She has four legs, the two at the back are shorter but stronger than the front which allows her to stand tall on two legs if the needs arise. A pair of white bluish wings spread beautifully from her back.
Clothes :
Lynessa tends to have a favoritism in green and white color. Her wardrobe is filled with those colors, with some nice variations or mixtures with some others. What she wears daily is quite simple, it is either her favorite self-made dresses or a set of Etrurian-style clothes which her sons bought for her birthday present.
Her favorite white dress is the first dress she made after learning the needed skill from her mother-in-law. The dragon woman likes it so much that it easily becomes her first choice in many occasion. She also has a set of protective gear for traveling, which isn't really useful aside from its decorative purpose. Those are a simple white leather breastplate and a short sword she rarely uses, almost never actually. This set usually comes with her wearing green blouse and dark blue skirt.
Living in cold place like Ilia doesn't give her much problem, she is resistant to cold, after all. But for the sake of not looking weird, she has a few piece of wool jackets to protect her from cold (not necessary). She forgot to wear it in one occasion, and then walked in the middle of a blizzard without any problem. The dragon could never forget the bewildered looks people had when they saw her.
Born in : Northern part of Elibe in the past (now called Ilia)
Story :
Lynessa had lived in probably the most difficult era for both humans and dragons, The Scouring. Being a a young dragon at that time, she had witnessed how scary the war rampaged across the land. Things eventually didn't go well for the ancient dragon race, the more numerous and vast humans pushed them into near extinction. The same was happened to her clan, the ice dragon of Snowfall clan. After acknowledging their defeat, her clan elders decided to join other dragons in an attempt to escape this world, it was said that they found another world they could live in, far from humans reach.
But some of her kin, mostly young dragons, chose to stay to fight until death, and some others were reluctant to abandon Elibe for an unknown world. Lynessa was one who chose to stay although she decided to take a long sleep instead of going out there and fighting humans, she believed that continuing fighting humans was a very stupid move. Although it might turn differently from what she hoped, she thought that after some hundreds years of hiding the war would stop so then she could find peace. There were some who had similar ideas, too. The young dragon then said farewell to her families and those who went to fight as the groups parted ways, shedding tears when she entered a frozen chamber where she would have her long sleep. Just to be careful, she kept her humanoid form before freezing herself. At least those humans probably wouldn't kill her straightaway if they accidentally found her sealed inside an ice pillar.
Short story, she was awaken after hundreds years by an earthquake which also caused the frozen chamber collapsed. The dragon, confused and injured, chose to reside in a cave near her sleeping place. She thought she was going to die due to her injury, which was pretty grave. It wasn't long before she was found by a hunter, Roy Heartwater was his name. Lynessa was scared metting an unknown human and almost killed him at their first meeting, but his gentle and caring personality won her trust. He always came to nurse her and sometimes brought cooked foods even after she revealed her identity, which confused the maiden. "Why would a human help me?" she asked him. He bashfully admitted he helped her because he was curious about her and couldn't leave a lady alone. She then found that in this era dragon had almost considered as a myth instead of a real creature, although some dragons had made appearance in public. His words made her come to conclusion that it might be safe for her to accept Roy's proposition to live in his village. It was a small poor village in the depth of the mountain so she wouldn't be too exposed to danger. The dragon didn't want to hide her identity from the villagers, though. She wouldn't mind hiding it from other people but if she would have to live with them they had the right to know the truth. Roy didn't agree at first but nevertheless accompanied her when she talked to the other villagers. A difficult road she took indeed, many people had rejected her at first upon knowing the truth. They eventually accepted her after difficult persuasion and finally decided to keep her safe from outsiders, especially from those who might want to exploit her power. She then adjusted to their life perfectly and won their trust. Having her in the village also helped the village prosper, her strength and knowledge were a great element to further build the village.
It wasn't long before she married Roy and became Lynessa Heartwater. She gave him two healthy sons soon, Aran, and then Gavin two years after Aran born. Being half-dragon, they looked completely human but possessed slightly stronger physique than common people. At least, they wouldn't have problem living normally, she hoped. The family had a quite good life despite not being rich, they led a happy life everyday. It felt funny for the female dragon when she saw her husband aged and her sons grew into adult while she remain same, but it never became a problem for them. Her life was actually far from boring, Roy was a fan of adventuring so they often left to visit strange places. Her sons, who then joined Ilia military, often entertained her with their war stories. The dragon never expected in the past that she would someday live and laugh together with humans. What now? She had married a human man and had two sons, and also many human friends. Looking back at the distant past, she often wondered what if that war wouldn't have happened and dragons wouldn't have to leave Elibe.
The village had been more advanced compared to when she had decided to live there, especially since an Ilia military base was built nearby. Travelers often came to rest and resupply which gave Roy an idea to open a tavern where those people could drink, talk, and laugh together. The man had given up with his adventuring life due to old age and decided to settle in. He didn't give much complain when Lynessa and their sons still had their fair shares of adventuring. This gave the dragon a freedom to explore the world further. Sometimes she went on her own, sometimes she went to visit Aran and Gavin in their posts, but she always made sure to come home occasionally and helped with the business. In fact, her cooking was the tavern's best money-source.
Personality :
Lynessa is a cool-headed person, able to thinking clearly even in most chaotic situation. This might be influenced by her age, roughly 600 years experience in life, that she can possess such maturity as her trait. She usually keeps her mind to herself while calmly analzing and considering her response but won't hesitate to speak when the need arises. Having knowledge about a few real events in the past, she can lose her cool when someone changes the history into their own liking.
She is rather shy and awkward around strangers, especially if she is afraid she might hurt their feeling. But she does have some good friends, proving that socializing isn't a problem for her. It is true that she keeps distance to people until she knows them good enough, one her bad habit for not easily trust people. She values people who has noble traits.
Some people says she is kind, but Lynessa herself won't think herself as a good-hearted person. She is aware that she has committed some bad things in her life and she will admit doing those. But cruel isn't a right word to describe her either, maybe cold would be closer. She is quite neutral when it comes to good or evil discussion, the dragon tries to stick to what she believes rather than majority opinions. After all, the difference between good and evil si thin.
The female dragon likes art and poetry, although she doesn't have talent to make one herself. Well, she has tried, and failed terribly. Her other hobby is travelling. This world is very different from the past, after all. Even spending years travelling to various places still doesn't give her satisfaction to see what this new era has to offer.
