Name: Ryuzaki
Class: Thief
Hair Color: Silver
Eye Color: Indigo
Age: 24 -> 25
Appearance: Ryuzaki, at first glance, appears to fit better in the realm of book-keeping and writing, rather than thievery and mercenary fighting. A rather thin and wiry looking young man, with silver hair and piercing indigo eyes, Ryuzaki's small frame hides toned muscles built by an active childhood and a rough upbringing. Although not the strongest man on the block, Ryuzaki relies on his speed and agility, which are not easily perceived.
Clothes: Ryuzaki is clad quite simply, using his father's deep indigo cloak to conceal a slightly faded golden woman's shirt and standard black trousers. A striking scarlet sash is the most prominent feature of Ryuzaki's apparel -- it appears in perfect condition and seems to sparkle discreetly.
Edit: After assuming the role of an assassin, Ryuzaki has changed his appearance, both consciously and unconsciously. He has filled out a bit, now more solid looking and certainly stronger due to his many confrontations and the rigors of thievery. His hair has been cut shorter, though its unusual silver color still marks him as unique from the crowds of browns, blondes, and blues. Many scars, some faint and some more noticeable, chronicle his journeys, and his facial features seem somehow more hardened and knowing than before.
His attire has also changed. Under a new and heavier dark indigo cloak, he wears a dark shirt under which is a light chain mail vest. While not strong enough to protect him against forceful stabs, slashes, or other attacks, it is able to provide some protection against glancing blows or light strikes. On his right forearm, he has adapted an old sword into a gauntlet-like guard, allowing him to parry some strikes to gain an element of surprise and open up areas to attack. Two bandoliers cross over his chest, holding his lockpicks and throwing knives, and on his hips, two scabbards hold his main weapons. If the job calls for it, Ryuzaki also fights with twin iron sickles, but has generally abandoned them for his swords.
Gemini is Ryuzaki's primary weapon, and is an Exotic Sword composed of two Killing Edges. When in its common form, Gemini is a slightly larger than normal size and slightly heavier, and looks to have a jagged crack running down the center of the blade. In truth, the sword can be split into two twin blades with a flick of the wrist. Each sword is identical, possessing one serrated and one razor-sharpened edge, and both are slightly thinner and lighter than normal.
Shinryu is the assassin's Worm Sword, an ancient weapon supposedly dating to the Scouring timeframe. It was stolen by the assassin, and only recently has he been able to draw forth its fel power to sicken and impair his opponents. The sword emits a blood-like drip when excited, and glows with a dark indigo light.
Born in: A Sacaean village near the Lycian mountain border, to a Sacaean mother and Lycian father.
Story: A restless soul, Ryuzaki grew up without many friends, and so formed close bonds with his immediate family. When his mother died, Ryuzaki was 17, and the loss impacted him greatly. His father always wished for his son to return to Ilia and study elder magic, as he had in his youth, but Ryuzaki was more comfortable with a blade than a book. With his father’s reluctant blessing, the next night, he donned his mother’s favorite golden shirt, his father’s shaman’s cloak, and set out to find himself, wandering the continent ‘working’ as a thief.
Edit: Ryuzaki has traveled extensively, fighting and stealing in the many nations of Elibe. After some initial petty thievery, he met a thief named Rogus and the two went on to create a guild, Sanguinem Symbolem, which used a mercantile front as a disguise for the guild's shady side: contract thievery, assassination, espionage, and intimidation. Simultaneously, Ryu developed a deep desire to destroy the nobles of Lycia, seeing them as a corrupt and toxic institution that oppressed the common man.
The Siege on the City of Heroes, which served as a culmination of Ryuzaki's involvement in the banditry of Hargus, led the assassin to abandon the battlefield, seeing it as a lost cause. He exited the struggle, slipping away without any trouble, and moved on to continue his work assassinating nobles. However, a sudden kidnapping of a mage he had briefly met led to his involvement in the human trafficking scene of Ciaran, and then a brief adventure with the aforementioned mage, Mila, sparked romantic interest in Ryuzaki's mind.
His goal of eliminating the privilege and advantages of the rich, in order to create a truly equal world, has been put on hold while he reevaluates his goals and perspectives on life. Currently, he is searching for Mila, and is seeking to draw forth the power of his blade Shinryu.
