I think it's my 6th.
Aidan 215 Elisabeth 20 Valcrist 502 Elias 331 Zerachiel 77
Name: Iadra Zobek
Class: Bishop
Hair Color: Chestnut
Eye Color: Turquiose
Age: 23
Appearance: Iadra is what you would call a specimen of 'proper breeding', even though looking at her and then her father and brother, it's quite startling how little she resembles them. She took after her mother, after all, almost a spitting image. Iadra inherited her bright blue eyes and her delicate features, but if you payed close attention you would see traces of her father buried beneath it all. It's especially apparent in her mannerisms when she believes no one is paying attention, things she have long since learned to overwrite but still she falls back upon them unconsciously.
She is considered by many to be a beauty, which is something she pretends to be modest about, despite how long she spends taking care of her appearance. She's actually a little vain, but you'd never hear such a thing from her. She looks much like a noblewoman might, with skin soft as silk and hair a flowing mane of earthy brown. She conducts herself with grace and dignity, and speaks with a voice both soft and kind. Despite this, she does appear to have a bit of muscle hiding within her feminine frame, something that is only natural for one that's lived a life like hers.
Clothes: Iadra mostly wears the conservative red robe of her faith, sturdy and tough and designed for traveling. It stands out compared to the usual snow white vestments of the the church of Elmine, almost blood red in color, but similar in design. It's a purposeful deviation from the norm, and it allows all those who see to know that they are proud of their belief. Accompanying this is a simple pair of sensible and comfortable shoes, for she does much traveling on her feet. Outside of this, she's still a young woman, and like many young woman she enjoys wearing a multitude of clothing. She prefers colorful and simply clothing that is soft to the touch, as opposed to the extravagant and complicated clothing popular with nobility. If it's at all possible, she keeps her clothing modest and elegant, as is expected of a proper lady.
Born in: Etruria
Story:
Iadra Zobek is the youngest child of Edward Zobek and Asthore Zobek, and younger sister of Gabriel Zobek and Sonia Zobek. Unfortunately, she would also be the last child of this couple for her mother died giving birth. It left Edward with the responsibility to raise her alone, and he refused to lose her like he lost her mother. From a young age she was raised to be a proper lady, her father and brother wanting to keep her away from the field of battle. They knew of the dangers of war, and they never wanted Iadra to be exposed to such a thing. Her brother and father knew the battlefield well, heroes some would call them. She was proud of them, proud to be a part of their family. They were great men, but... she simply did as she was told and politely listened to every command. She would never say, but she secretly desired to join them every time they left home, but knew it simply would not be. Proper ladies do not fight. She does not fight.
There was no such thing as a certain thing however, and everything she knew was soon to change. She remembered it well, she was barely 16 at the time, when Kraft came into power. Everything changed. It was subtle at first, he slowly built his way into a position where no one could possibly oppose him. First it was small, simple, little things were different. No one worried, no one was scared. He was simply some upstart after all. Yet it grew, it spread, it infected all of Etruria like a poison. Worming it's way into peoples minds, deceiving everyone. Sweeping changes completely turned Etruria up upon it's head, and nothing was the same. Her father was forced to step down, her brother was banished entirely, their family disgraced and disjointed. There was even whispering that to keep Edward in line that they would take his daughter, they would induct her into the warped church of Elmine and use her as a pawn to make sure that he would never dare speak against Kraft. Iadra would be nothing but a puppet for Kraft to use, another one of his twisted clergy who obeyed his every word like it was the voice of Elmine herself. He would rather die then to see that happen.
That's why she had to leave her home. She left the only home she knew and was taken from the country, away from her father and away from her brother. She was taken to a church, one as simple as could be. However there was a difference amongst this church and every other, they refused to accept Kraft. He was no savior, he was no prophet. They taught the old way, the old values of Elmine. It was but a small church, one that deftly flew under the watchful eye of the prophet, and it was here that she was safe. She was locked away into this land, having almost no contact with the outside world and taught the magic of light and faith.
She proved talented in it, the light came to her naturally like an old friend. She wielded it with a strong unwavering faith and a strong heart, believing in the old views of Elmine. The virtues of patience, love, kindness, compassion. Not the new doctrine of the church, not the belief that all of man is tainted and must be purged by holy light. She grew up like her father had wished she would, strong and compassionate. If only he could see the woman she had become... She had no connections with her family save for the rare letter, and the family dog that came along with her. It was simply too dangerous for her father to visit in person, he refused to let Kraft discover where she hid. Soon the only thing she had of the father and brother she knew and loved was but memories. Even the dog that reminded her of the family she loved every day did not last forever, and passed from age leaving naught but a single puppy behind.
She did not remain sequestered away, however. She wanted to use her magic to help people, to heal, to save lives. She joined a missive of acolytes and bishops who traveled the lands, using their magic to purge Elibe of the beasts and monsters that plagued the land. Their magic was particularly potent against these unholy abominations, and their healing soothed the wounds of those that were struck down trying to stand against these demonic spawn. She traveled with these men for weeks, months, years. With every day she grew more powerful, her magic more potent, her skill showing and shining as she slew beast after beast. She had become a warrior, like she thought she had wanted...
But, it wasn't what she wanted. In her heart she knew that what she truly wanted was to see her family one more time. So once she became an adult she left her church together with her pet, a constant reminder of a father she loved, as she started to search the land to become a family once more with nothing to go on but timeworn letters and memories of a home that may not exist any longer.
