The caravan had set out, with all of the expedition members aboard. It was a rather peaceful afternoon, with the sun shining and no visible clouds yet. Birds were singing, and Oleg even noticed a few rodents crossing the road infront of the caravan.
Oleg held the reins tightly, whistling along as there seemed to be nothing dangerous ahead. He then yelled out to the others. "So far so good. We might reach the tomb in a few days with a pace like this. You all comfy back there?"

"Hay don't jenks us father", spoke Oichi. Once you talked about it things seemed to always go wrong. Oichi would rather enjoy the peace and ride in silence than speak about it and bring up trouble. The young maiden looked ahead at the road. It was nice to have a peaceful moment and a nice day.

"Hey there... Oleg right?" Rogus would hop up front with him after walking beside the caravan for a little while, stretching his legs.
"You said you'd think about my idea to go around, don't pretend i can't hear mumbling." He'd say staring down the road absently. He had a soft spot for children, and he didn't want them to face any of the undead horrors that likely awaited the group. He'd speak quiet enough for the others not to hear, this was the boss man after all, he didn't want to undermine anyone's authority here.
"So tell me, did you think about it?"

"We aren't going around. We are going head on. The undead are not smart. So sneaking them, surprisingly, would fail. Smart people stay tightly together. Stupid people spread. Charging them is easier, if they will even be there. We have a few more concerns at the moment anyways." Oleg nodded, speaking quietly as he sighed.

"anything you'd like to share with me, fearless leader?" He'd grin, keeping his eyes on scanning the road, "I'm quite the problem solver." His voice would be riddled with a sort of humble confidence, he may seem shady but he truly wishes to succeed, even if it means going through undead to do it.
"If not, i'd like to stay up here a while if its no difference to you." He'd lean back comfortably, continually eyeing the road. He knew that they were a prime target for an ambush, especially in an area renowned for being infested with bandits. With that in mind, Oleg would do well to keep him up front. His keen eyes were useful for this sort of thing, and rogus knew it.

"Do stay. You are more useful here, even if it will annoy me to near death. Better here with more eyes on the road than at the back causing the others unrest." Oleg looked around, his eyes set on a frowning motion as the area seemed... Too peaceful. The reports he had got indicated something was wrong in the area, but nothing told exactly what was wrong.

Oichi saw the thief move toward the front and begin talking to her father. She wondered what the two men were talking about. She wanted to hear their conversation, but she was out of range. The maiden speed her horse up a bit to move closer to the front. She listen and heard a bit about something being wrong in the area. Nothing seemed wrong to Oichi. She wondered if her father received a false report.

Ryu walked a few steps behind the caravan. He could tell nobody really liked him much, save Rogus. A pity nobody understood him. Ryu reached up and pulled his scythe off of the clip that held it to his back. Although he hadn't used it much, he was proud of it. Such a nice weapon. He could get power behind a swing of this. Maybe he'd use it to chop some undead heads. Idly swinging it, he noticed that the countryside was eerily silent and still. He ran ahead on the road, stopping when he could no longer hear the caravan. Focusing on nature, he knew he probably looked like a savage, and insane to boot. But the plains had taught him to listen and feel and see and hear. His senses on high alert, Ryu scanned the road ahead and the surrounding area. Nothing. Creeped out, Ryu made his way back, stopping and walking backwards by Oleg and Rogus.
"Hey, boss. Don't know if it's just me, but it seems really quiet. Too still for my liking. What's your take? Maybe just be ready, in case? Maybe I'm hypersensitive, but something sure isn't right here..."

Ingrid was sitting at the side of the carriage. Keeping her eyes open to the two thieves that had given her such a bad time.
She wasn't to far from Oleg so she managed to hear most of the conversation and the idea to charge right through the mysterious foe didn't sounded as clever to her as Oleg made it sound. However it would be a good chance to practice her swordplay in a apparently dumb enemy.
She approached Oichi trying to start a conversation with her.- Hi again. What do you think about this weird road trip?.

"OH it was Ingrid right", spoke Oichi. She stared at the blonde maiden for a moment before she started to speak. "Sorry about last time. We did not get to talk very much. With all the people coming in and all of the talking I got a bit side tracked. As for the trip", spoke Oichi as she looked around. "I find the path to be quite peaceful, but, well you may not have heard the conversation between my father and the man, there is suppose to be some trouble in the area. They think it is strange that we have not ran into anything, but for me I think it is a blessing. The easier the trip the better."

Kyle was walking in front of the carriage off to the side a bit. He just tread down the road keeping pace with the caravan. It was nice and quite out aside from the chattering of the group. Sometimes he longed for such things, but would that really help him? His father always seemed to go it alone and he was the toughest man he'd ever met, not that he'd met that many people of course. of course. Feeling quite detached from the group helped him feel more attuned to the nature around him; it would be a good chance to hone his senses. That was something he needed to do, for a hunter they should be much better than they are. Giving a sigh Kyle closed his eyes and began to try to tap into the nature around him.

Oleg furrowed his brows even more. Something felt wrong about the place. Many travelers had been robbed here and then killed... But by what. Oleg continued his thoughts as the carriage moved. Suddenly, some dirt flew to his face. Oleg knocked it off annoyedle, shaking his head as he looked around on where it could have come from. Suddenly Oleg noticed a small hole... Then another... And another. Like mole holes... "... GODS BE DAMNED, PREPARE YOUR WEAPONS!"
Just as Oleg shouted, about eight or so bandits punched trough the small breathing holes, making them bigger until they leaped out of them, roaring as they were covered in dirt. "Molerat bandits, take all their gold, clothing, and then kill them!"

Molerat bandits?- The name sounded in her head as probably the silliest name that she had ever heard. Regardless of her thoughts she freed her sword from her waist and prepared to draw the blade and cut through any of them as she jumped closed to Oichi and took her defensive stance, with the blade still hidden in it's scabbard on her left side.-I got your back! can you keep mine?

"... GODS BE DAMNED, PREPARE YOUR WEAPONS!"
Rogus was already off the carriage when his boss made the alarm. To his left the bandits advanced toward oleg. He could hear the weapons of the others being drawn or gathered as he sunk his knife deep into the chest of one bandit. Ducking under another's axe, he'd pull his knife from the brigand's chest and turn to knock the other bandit away with his shoulder, hopefully the others could finish him off. He ran to Oleg's aid, he may only have a long knife compared to the swords and axes the bandits used, but he had drawn first blood, a term that bandits usually used to intimidate their marks. No doubt these fools realized they had attacked the wrong caravan.
"Didn't your mothers teach you a man dressed in red and yellow is dangerous fellow?" He'd jeer the bandits ahead of him, he'd bought a bit of time for the others by killing one of the bandits' number, as the bandits backed off for a moment. The damn cowards. He slashed forward holding more them at bay. he was out-numbered at the moment, until Oleg or one of the others recovered from the surprise attack his chances seemed very slim.

"... GODS BE DAMNED, PREPARE YOUR WEAPONS!" That was what snapped Kyle out of his trance. When he turned to see why the 'leader' had yelled that out he saw bandits pop out from the ground. About 8 or so; that's no good the bandits outnumber them and it doesn't help that the surrounded the caravan. From where Kyle stood now, the closest bandits had their backs to him. Good thing he was walking so far away from the wagon. Right away he saw a on of the shadier characters of the group stab one bandit then push another away. At the moment he seemed outnumbered. Getting into the stance he was told to get into when shooting a bow took up a few precious seconds of his time.He needed those seconds. Pulling out his bow and an arrow from his quiver he began to aim at the bandit closest to the two girls. After another few second he let loose his shot........ and he missed. he was aiming for the heart but the shot had hooked out and hit the bandit in the upper arm. It wouldn't kill him but it would hinder the bandit's ability to fight.
