Name: Dietrich Landrik
Class: Mercenary > Assassin
Font: Yellow
Journal: fewotw.proboards.com/thread/4205/landriks-journal
Hair Color: Blonde
Eye Color: Blue
Age: 22
Appearance: For all sense and purpose, Landrik doesn't stand out too much as a young man of fighting age in a realm filled to the brim with conflict and death. The large characteristics that would pull him out of a crowd is his height at 6'2", his blonde hair, the mole on his right eye, and blue eyes.
Clothes: Landrik wears a rather dark greatcoat, a white and blue striped long-sleeved shirt, and a lightly colored off-white knit toque which has come in handy for him. He wears a simple chest rig of leather armor that he takes care of, so it will remain useful and in good condition for whenever it needs to help save his life. He wears khaki trousers and leather low boots. He tucks his trouser legs into his socks to keep the dirt and rocks out.
Born in: Etruria
Story: Landrik was originally born in Etruria until he became about 8 years of age when his father's business as a carpenter went sour and his family moved to the Western Isles in search of work. He shared just about everything with his four siblings, the one he grew closest with his younger brother. His father found work as a sailor with doing small carpentry jobs on the side. The long amounts of time away from home did much to fragment the family's morale, but kept the kids close together. Whenever their father would visit they always treasured what time they had together before he had to set sail again.
Thankfully through the years none of them died from sickness or disease as their mother was very knowledgeable in home-made medicines and a kind heart that never ceased to love and care after her many children. Food was always scarce as was money, so Dietrich and his brother, Otto, always found ways to pass the time whether it was getting into fights with one another, beating each other with wooden swords, building toy boats, or sneaking into town and just causing general mischief.
As a young teenager, Dietrich and his brother often found themselves far from home going out to explore or hang out with friends. This ended pretty quickly when the two boys were brought along with their father to learn the sailor trade and start earning money for the family. Dietrich was quite good at navigating and he particularly liked the simple life of a sailor except for being jammed in with so many other men onto one boat. Otto was always getting into fights, was going crazy at taverns at the ports, and knew his way around his knots. It wasn't too long when he met a girl port-side and took off with her somewhere - leaving the family only to wonder where he was and to pray for his well-being. He was 16.
Growing up a bit more into early adulthood, Landrik found better work on another ship that his father urged him to join the crew of since it had better pay, but harder work as a larger ship. He resented leaving his father, but he quickly made friends with the new crew. He found the higher organization and sense of camaraderie on the ship to be entirely what he was looking for that he never knew existed. He made great friends with Fuchs, a soft-spoken jokester with a sharp eye, and Berg, a large and jolly fellow with a taste for the finer things. This was the first time since he was young that he had friends his age and they were nearly inseparable.
Their cargo trips were done with very little delay and with speed, precision, and a high sense of quality. So much so that they earned a reputation and started carrying more delicate and expensive cargo from port to port. This would've been their downfall a few months later.
Their ship was boarded in the middle of the night by an unknown pirate gang and the crew was taken prisoner without a single problem. Their cargo stolen, the ship scuttled, and the crew penniless in lifeboats they went their separate ways after returning to port after a few grueling days at sea. It was with this that Fuchs and Berg decided to stick with Landrik in doing mercenary work... at least until they could afford to get their sea legs back. With not much money to be made in Etruria, the trio went south towards Lycia and Nabata where they could possibly spill blood for gold.
Timeline:
Clearing the Trail
Heavily wounded during a Bael ambush near the Nabatan/Lycian border. With Berg and Fuchs they managed to kill three Bael. A vulnerary was used to stabilize Landrik and they took off with two horses stolen from the group.
The Only Good Bandit
Healing from his wounds in Western Lycia, the trio jump on the opportunity of a job even when not at full strength. Powering through a reinforced church as a bandit hideout, the party clears it and takes some prisoner. Berg killed the bandit leader while Landrik with the assistance of Fuchs slew a man on the spire's stairway.
Grains of Sand in The Desert Sea
Venturing into Nabata, Landrik and his comrades ran into a charming girl and a mysterious woman. The girl mentioned work available to the North at a port the two were familiar with, but the young woman didn't end up journeying with him. The three left to look for work up there.
Desert Storm

[EVENT] Land Meets Sea
Following rumors of sailors and marines for hire for a raid, Landrik and his comrades signed on a small fleet that was headed towards Sacae. Many of the ships were lost due to a naval battle, but they ended up victorious and proceeded to the shores of Sacae near the City of Heroes.
[EVENT] Siege on the City of Heroes (East - Part 1)
The trio on the landing grounds of the invasion, Landrik purposely distanced himself from the fighting. Finding a flaw in the battle plan, Dietrich stepped up and ordered defenses be built for the siege engines. Oya reinforcing his command authority, Landrik was able to deter any attempts at assaulting the siege engines as they were all kept safe for the week long static warfare against the City. During that time Dietrich was put on the staff to supervise the building of the trenches.
[EVENT] Siege on the City of Heroes (East - Part 2)
During a routine conversation between Dietrich and Oya, Hargus unleashed his unholy powers in the South. After fighting off the first wave of undead and gargoyles, the duo commanded their teams to act on the offensive towards the South. Berg was allotted a liaison to the archer companies and Fuchs personally led the fire-pot assault troops.
