Age: 25

Mount: Black Arabian named "Chaos"
Clothes: Vaan wears a set of cavalier's clothes that are darker colored with light accents that have some dark stains but is well dressed.
Born in: Laus
Mental state: Vaan has traumatized in his mind to the point where his personality could shift at almost any moment. He also will suffer from random flashbacks, anxiety attacks, panic attacks, and other psychological events.
Story: Vaan Mirran's mind is fragmented and scarred, he remembers nothing of his biological family beyond his sister; Penelo. He remembers that he grew up in a family of mounted knights. He remembers moving out of Laus to a near by town with his sister to be closer to where they worked. He knows that his sister Penelo was all he had, and that was one of the most wonderful dancers. He has small blips of memory of his life and sister when things were good, but they are blurred and hard to read. His memory starts to become cleared as hell descended upon Penelo and him, less than two years ago.
Things were good, He was bring Penelo back home from a tour of her dancing when she started to get sick. They stopped in a village near by that gladly took them in until she was better. Vaan thought it would be good to go ahead and get a doctor from there home town and rode on. When he arrived he witnessed something that haunts him to this day. The entire town seemed to him to be dead or dying from some sickness on the land itself. He experienced his first traumatizing then. He rode back to the village found it under attack from what appeared to be walking dead. He joined into the fight with his sister who was skilled with blade dancing. During the fight he did the best he could to protect others and took a monster claw to his face for his sister and lost his left eye. They managed to defeat the undead, and he paid an escort to bring his sister to safety. He stayed behind to try to safe wounded villagers.
Things did not get better. A wave of sickness came in and wiped almost the entire animal population out, leaving only a few horses. Vaan took pity on a foal that was left to die after its owner, parents, and siblings were claimed by the sickness. He studied all of the healing books he could find and manged to save it, though he could do nothing about the other animals. He found himself trapped in the village, unable to leave all the sick he could possibly save. And soon it would not matter.
For the rest of the year, monsters started to attack more often and he was constantly needed to heal wounded. During one raid he was attacked himself, and he had no means of fighting back. Three close friends were ripped apart in front of him as they tried to save him. He was saved, but he blamed himself for their deaths. He became a study on dark magic, picking up the skill. He could kill with one hand, and heal with the other.
The attacks started to become for common, and it became a living nightmare. Monsters and raiders could attack at any moment, and attack for days at the time. You could not let your guard down for a half second. It became less of a friendly village and more a fort trying to survive, and failing. Slowly he watched people around him die, unable to save them, blaming himself. Sickness, wounds, and even suicide started to thin out the numbers. Finally there were only a handful left. Knowing that trying to stay was doom, and to leave was also a death sign, they made one last attamt to live. To try and fight their way out. Every man their knew that they would fail and die, but none wanted to sit and die any longer.
He can hardly remember what happened, nor does he want to. He does remember watching each one die as he got away. He escaped, but his dreams are still trapped there. That was two years ago.
