Name: Lucius Baron
Class1: Fighter
Age: 47
Born in: Bern
Appearance: Short blond slicked back hair with green eyes. He wears a tunic much like the norm of a mercenary but with scraps of armor. Namely armored boots a light chest piece and a left shoulder guard. Primary color for dress are darker with mixes of white. Wears a black eye patch over his right eye. A very large and strong build with many scars on his body, notably over his lost eye, under his good one and on the nape of his neck.
Personality: He is a weary warrior after decades of combat. An end is what he seeks but feels there is still more he ought to do in the time being. He has grown merciless and cruel over the years. The mere mention of betrayal is a trigger word that will send him into a frenzy. His sense of direction is terrible finding himself anywhere on different days.
Story:
PreGame: As a child Lucius loved the tales of dragons and manaketes. Believing he met one once he had decided to begin traveling in order to meet them again. Taking only an axe from home he lived as a fighter and grew strong in combat finding odd jobs to sustain his quest. He was mocked openly by those he met however.
One day in battle he found himself dueling a swordsman who was clearly the weaker opponent and yet he was on the losing end of the fight. Receiving a thrust to the gut he was left for dead and if not for a young cleric would have been. A full day of healing saw him survive.
After several weeks of recovery Lucius came to a conclusion that the sword was the strongest and if he could wield one he would never lose again. He told the healer of his dream to meet a manakete, and she decided to join him in his quest.
The two made a good team with Lucius fighting as wildly as he did and in time feelings of love bloomed. In time Lucius wedded Rosalind and had a family. Having settled down after so long he had nearly given up his search when rumors appeared in whispers he decided he couldn't ignore them and took to traveling following the hints.
Over the course of six years he traveled the four corners of the world and several islands off the coast. Finally thinking he had found the whereabouts of the manakete Lucius came to a small village and was deceived. Brigands who had heard about his fools journey had decided to lure him in and take him out in order to collect on the bounty he accumulated as a mercenary. When he came to the tavern the man he spoke with took the preemptive strike with a blow to his face causing Lucius to loose his eye. In retort Lucius managed to slay his attacker but the bandit was not alone. He had to fight off two others before the brawl ended. The villagers who had been harassed by the gang for ages tended his wounds and pleaded for him to stay to protect them. Lucius agreed in return for payment. He wanted them to give him all the gold and silver they possessed. In desperation they agreed. Over several months Lucius became a hero to the village and to a young Merric an idol. He rid the village of bandits single handedly but before it ended he had suffered the loss of his left ring finger and many scarring wounds. On the eve of his departure a boy from the village came to him speaking of a young manakete he saw. Lucius took great interest in this and followed the boy only to find it was a trap. The remnants of the bandits ambushed him and in that moment he broke. He realized he was on a fools errand and had abandoned his family for six whole years, he had had enough. Narrowly surviving the attack he began his journey home a bloodied wreck.
When he returned he was a changed man, broken. He was a scarred old fool. He lost friends and his dream throughout his life and when he returned his family as well. Believing him dead his wife had moved on and had a child with another man. Feeling betrayed in an act of rage he took an axe and killed his wife. Her new husband however escaped with the children.
Since that day he felt lost and traveled taking any job no matter how dangerous or foolish. He threw himself at his enemies always finding himself the victor despite suffering many heavy wounds to include the loss of his right eye and his left hand's ring finger, something he found symbolic. Claiming dragons to be the reason for all his pain, he took it upon himself to slay every dragon rider he saw and should he meet a manakete they would feel every bit of his wrath.
Returning the Favor: Looking for people to sell him goods in Ilia he started an uproar in town trying to promote the people to fight. He then overheard talk of a shop and after a bit of chat he left empty handed but with a promise to return.
My New Kingdom: Working in Nabata to create a place of operations and home he affectionately called his kingdom he saw a wyvern rider by the name of Orys flying overhead. His desire to slay him was held off due to his axe not being readily available. The two held a tense conversation until neither could contain themselves and a battle started between the two. Orys was clearly winning when Lucius turned to a desperate strategy leaping straight into a low flying wyvern sending the rider and himself into a pit. There the two were at their limits and upon suffering a blow to the head they talked and realized their ambitions overlapped with one another. Lucius decided to help this Orys create his kingdom and armies. If Orys wanted to be a conqueror then by all means he would see to his success.
Relations:
Baako: Looks down on the boy but he likes the look in the kid's eyes. He thinks he will one day be a terrifying opponent.
Orys: An ambitious fool but a man that can further his goals. He will happily act as his right hand man until what he wants has come around. He is still debating on whether or not he wants to kill him.
